A clock from an old plate. Master Class

Decorating a plate using decoupage technique.

Materials:
napkin
acrylic
one-step craquelure
pastel
clock mechanism and hands
varnish
circuit
decoupage glue
flat brush synthetic
scissors
drill and drill bit for ceramics

Step 1: drill a hole in the center of the plate for the clock mechanism

Step 2: degrease work surface alcohol-containing liquid

Step 3: stamp with titanium white using a sponge in two layers

Step 4: tear the napkin into a circle with a diameter smaller than the plate so as to fill only the middle

Step 5: remove the extra layers of the napkin... leaving only the colorful layer and glue it to the center of the plate with decoupage glue. Drying

Step 6: prepare the palette. We lay out acrylic paints in contrasting colors (in in this case: dark red, orange and yellow). We dip the sponge in turn into all the colors on the palette and stamp the edges of the plate. We get bright bezel, closer to the middle we stamp it yellow. Blow dry until the surface is completely dry.

Step 7: apply one-component craquelure with a brush. Dry with a hairdryer until slightly sticky.

Step 8: mix white with a drop yellow color, to obtain the top layer. We apply the resulting color to the craquelure with a sponge, do not hit the same place twice!!! otherwise we’ll get ugly, smeared lumps. Cracks appear instantly, right before your eyes. Blow dry until completely dry

Step 9: take a pastel (you can also use eye shadow). We crumble it with a knife and begin to rub it into the cracked edges of the plate. We get a rainbow headband!

Step 10: glue to the border of the headband and napkin decorative elements with super glue. Glue the prepared dial to the center of the plate. Let's dry it.

Step 11: cut out individual elements from the remaining napkin, place it on the rim, glue it, dry it. We outline the numbers with a black outline for brightness. Let's dry it. Cover the entire surface of the plate acrylic varnish on several layers with alternate drying

Various types of watches accompany us everywhere. Wall, floor, wrist. It is simply impossible to do without them. They are used not only for practical purposes, to tell the time, but also for interior decoration. It is quite possible to make a watch with your own hands from scrap materials.

Interesting options for wall clocks

In fact, there are a lot of options for creating wall clocks at home, but I would like to consider the most popular ones.

From vinyl records or discs

How to do Wall Clock From vinyl records or discs with your own hands, detailed instructions will tell you:

Prepare a vinyl record or disk, remove all stickers and dirt from its surface. If you are using a disc, choose one with a white core. Prepare the clock mechanism in advance, purchase or use it from an old clock.

Apply primer to the surface using a special spray bottle and cover with acrylic, if necessary. Leave it to dry for a while. Make the background of the clock more saturated with acrylic bright color or gold.

Using vinyl record, it is better to decorate its surface using decoupage. To do this, prepare a paper picture or a napkin, apply a layer of glue to the surface of the dial, moisten the picture and attach it to the adhesive base. Apply a layer of glue on top, carefully smoothing the surface to prevent bubbles from forming, and dry.

Cover the drawing with acrylic varnish in three layers. Make suitable numbers and fix them on the dial in the right places.

Make a hole in the center of the plate and secure the mechanism with arrows, which can be a different color as you wish. Install the battery, put right time and hang the clock on the wall in the right place.

These hand-made watches can be given to friends and family, or they can be used to decorate the interior of any room. Many options for DIY watches using the decoupage technique are presented in the photo.

Coffee theme

A clock decorated with coffee beans is suitable for the kitchen. A creative process will give you a lot of pleasure:

  • prepare the clock mechanism and the base in the shape of a circle;
  • for a beautiful decoupage of a watch with your own hands, choose a suitable picture with fragments related to coffee;
  • Apply primer to the surface and paint one side White color, the other – in brown. Leave the product to dry;
  • cover adhesive composition(glue diluted with water – 1:1);
  • lay the picture flat so that no bubbles form and dry it;
  • schematically depict the location of the grains;
  • Place the coffee beans in the picture according to the diagram. Place the grains close to each other, securing them with stained glass paint;
  • leave the product to dry, then apply the numbers and install the clock mechanism;
  • secure the decorated surface of the dial with clear acrylic varnish.

Wood clock

Original and stylish wooden clock for ethnic interior styles it’s even easier to do:

  • take a cut of wood of a suitable shape and size, no more than 3 cm thick;
  • peel off the bark and unnecessary parts, if necessary, adjust the shape of the future dial;
  • make a hole in the center to install the hands and clock mechanism;
  • Apply varnish to the surface and let it dry;
  • install the mechanism and secure the numbers.

Clock-plate

A clock made from a plate will also decorate kitchen interior, and they are easy to make. You just need to drill a hole in the center of the plate, install a mechanism with arrows and decorate it as you wish.

And master classes on watches with their own hands will tell and show more detailed order work.

With cutlery

Continuing the kitchen theme, I would like to consider another option for a DIY clock using cutlery: forks and spoons.

  • take the disc box, cut out a circle and paint it in the desired color;
  • drill a hole in the center;
  • wash the cutlery thoroughly, dry it and degrease it;
  • fasten them on the back side of the circle at equal intervals, alternating with each other;
  • paint them in different colors;
  • mount mechanical device and hands, set the time and decorate your kitchen interior with a clock.

DIY watch photo

I suggest you make your own watch from a transparent glass plate. To work you will need printer printouts, PVA glue, white and pink acrylic paints, brushes, a hair dryer, a piece of sponge and a clock mechanism

So, let's watch a master class on creating delicate watches to decorate the interior in the shabby chic style. But, first, I want to turn your attention to the topic of the upcoming vacation) On the website of the Planet of Hotels project, you can find your way around a resort vacation or make a business trip. Here you can book your own hotel at affordable prices in cities all over the world. On the site you will find a huge database with a large number of placement options, full information about the best hotels in any country. All services of the site are absolutely free, you can book a room by paying directly to the hotel account, without involving intermediaries.

For work we need a transparent glass plate

Mark the center of the plate

Using a drill and a special glass drill, drill a hole for the clock mechanism

We print out the dial and the bird on the printer. Glue the printouts to the back of the plate with PVA glue diluted with water

On reverse side plates, generously apply PVA glue, no longer diluted

Spread the glue on the plate with a brush

After the glue has dried, take a piece of sponge and moisten it with white acrylic paint and apply paint to the plate

Cover the plate completely with paint, without smearing, using tear-off movements.

Without waiting for the paint to dry, dry it with a hot hair dryer.

These are the cracks you should get. More glue- more cracks

Now we take colored paint that matches the color of the printout

In this version we use pink paint
