Crocus or, in other words, saffron (wild crocus) is one of the first heralds of spring. Translated from Arabic, "sepheran" means yellow. This is the color we will make crocuses from cold porcelain.
Before you start, you can also see how to make crocuses from polymer clay.

We will prepare the following tools and materials for work:

Paints of red, green, yellow and white (I use gouache);
glue;
cream;
rolling pin with rounded handles;
brushes of different sizes;
scissors;
toothpicks;
wire

Crocuses - cold porcelain: master class
This master class uses the classic cold porcelain recipe.

Let's prepare the porcelain for making the petals and center for our future crocus from cold porcelain - let's paint it. You need two colors - orange and yellow. The proportions are shown in the photo below. When painting, it is better to start with small portions of paint, gradually adding to the desired shade. It should be remembered and taken into account that after the product dries, the color of the porcelain becomes more saturated.

Modeling a pestle for a crocus from cold porcelain. We apply glue to the tip of the wire and, having formed a droplet of orange porcelain, attach it to the wire. Using scissors, we make cuts on the droplet, thus dividing it into three equal parts.
Using a toothpick, we make indentations in each part, the edges of which need to be rolled out (with a toothpick) and made wavy.

We make stamens. Crocus has three of them. We roll these grains from orange porcelain. Having fixed the grain on the rod of a ballpoint pen, we press longitudinal lines on it with a toothpick.
Glue the stamens to the base of the pistil.

For the petals we take yellow porcelain. First we roll the ball, then we form a drop from it and on the palm of our hand (it’s more convenient) with the rounded handle of a rolling pin (if you have a tool, that’s absolutely great) we give the petal shape. Particular attention should be paid to the edges - make them thin. Let the petals dry for about an hour. This will be quite enough, since the petals are very thin.

The crocus has six petals. First we glue three, and then three more in a checkerboard pattern. When the flower head is ready, press out the veins on the outer petals.

We will make crocus leaves from cold porcelain from two shades of green - green and light green. Roll it into a roll as in the photo, placing light green porcelain in the middle. Roll out the resulting roll to the thickness of a crocus leaf (about 2-3 mm).

We press a straight thin plate (in this case an iron ruler) in the center of the sheet. Due to the light green porcelain that is inside, the recess will be lighter than the entire sheet.
Cover the stem with green porcelain

In a drop of water, mix green gouache and just a little white to get a pale green color. Use a thin brush to tint the indentations of the outer petals.
Glue the leaves to our cold porcelain crocuses.

Cold porcelain crocuses are ready (I made 3 pieces).

Content

Cold porcelain is a very malleable material for modeling, which can easily take any shape. Crafts made using it are well preserved, have an attractive appearance and are often in no way inferior to souvenirs bought in a store.

Such properties make it especially attractive for use in sculpting. Not only a professional, but also a beginner will enjoy working with a mass prepared from fairly simple and commonly available ingredients.

In this article we will look at several options for making crafts from cold porcelain for those who are just starting to sculpt or have only primary, basic knowledge in this branch of handmade.

Crocuses

A bouquet of spring flowers, such as crocuses, can be made quite easily and simply with your own hands.

To make flowers you will need the following materials and tools:

  • ready-made mass for modeling in different colors;
  • mold for creating petals or plastic spoons;
  • stacks and rolling pin;
  • backing board for modeling;
  • wire for the stem;
  • green adhesive tape for decoration (insulating tape will also work).

Step-by-step master class:

After this fairly simple procedure, your flowers will retain their shape and beauty for a long time, which will preserve the festive atmosphere and spring mood in your home.

Using the same principle, you can make another flower from the category of primroses - snowdrops from cold porcelain.

Pansies

Elegant, miniature, bright pansy bushes can also be made with your own hands from cold porcelain.

For sculpting you will need the following materials and tools:

  • cold porcelain;
  • stacks;
  • wire;
  • pliers;
  • PVA glue and a brush for applying it;
  • paints for decoration.

The pansies are almost done. All that remains is to slightly decorate the finished buds to give them expressiveness and brightness.

We got such wonderful flowers.

Using the same principle, you can sculpt scarlet poppy flowers.

Cold porcelain is a very versatile material. Even the smallest parts can be sculpted from it. Thanks to this property, hyacinths, violets and even lilies of the valley and lilac are sculpted from it.

A video master class will help you fashion a lilac branch:

Anyone can create a beautiful violet bush from cold porcelain. It is enough just to accurately carry out all the stages of sculpting captured in this video:

Cold porcelain: crocuses

The earth is painted with a magic brush,
Fragrances with a persistent, delicate aroma.
And in this impeccable beauty, in the fields,
The messenger of spring, the angelic snowdrop, has blossomed.

A clearing of crocuses, the most beautiful creatures,
The most delicate flowers, heralds of spring,
That artist decorated the creation,
Your soulful, spring canvases.

What kind of flowers they are, they are simply miraculous!
Like heavenly bells ringing.
No, I will never forget them
Once upon a time I saw this miracle!

Crocus or in other words, saffron, is a small, delicate flower, with very fragile petals.
Crocus a bulbous plant that has a bright and juicy color. For its beauty, many people love it and create these wonderful flowers with their own hands. So today we will consider with you master class on making crocus from cold porcelain. The author of this work is Varvara Iksar.
These spring flowers will be a wonderful gift for March 8, as well as for other holidays.

How to make crocuses:

Let's take the cutter, Varvara made it from a cookie cutter. You can buy it at the store or make it yourself from an aluminum can. We take a piece of cold porcelain of the color we need, in this master class it is purple. Varvara paints cold porcelain with oil and acrylic paints before sculpting. Roll it out and use a cutter to cut out a crocus petal.

We take a kitchen glass cutting board and use it to give the petal a texture.

We take the wire for the stem and wrap it with tape, but you don’t have to do this. Then the stem needs to be rolled in cold porcelain of the desired color.

Now we need cold yellow porcelain and a scalpel. We roll out the porcelain and draw triangles for the pestles on it as shown in the photo and cut them out using a scalpel.

Then we make fringes on each triangle and twist them into tubes.

Now let's make the stamens, sculpt them from yellow porcelain and dip each one in colored semolina. Even though Varvara made it without semolina, it still turned out very beautiful.

We begin to collect our crocus, take the stem and glue three ready-made pistils onto it, and then three stamens.

Now they need to be dried, we hang our crocuses upside down.

When dry, remove them and create a composition from them. You can make a whole bouquet of spring crocuses and give it as a gift to your beloved mother.
