Alkyd, oil

• The easiest way to change the texture of the walls is if they have glass wallpaper. It is enough to paint them with acrylic paint. Here you won’t need to come up with a design, since the surface will remain with the same pattern, but will become a different color;
• Using a stencil. It is easy to find in hardware stores, or can be done at home. Plastic or a piece of linoleum is ideal as a material. Samples with adhesive bases are available for sale. It is applied to the desired surface, then a brush soaked in the solution is passed along the base;

• Using a cloth roller. They process walls by moving in different directions;
• With a regular brush you can create an unusual coating. Here is a possible method in which two shades are used. The main thing is to make chaotic strokes. Another method allows you to decorate with one color in two layers. The second application of paint involves moving the brush from top to bottom;

• Creating a marble base requires care. First, the main shade is covered, then materials similar to natural ones are selected. A new layer should be applied without waiting for the previous one to dry completely. Mixing of colors occurs. A fine brush creates small separations. It is possible to achieve the desired result using a conventional water-based composition, which is often used for painting the floor;
• Acrylic solution is used for spraying technology;
• You can make the walls feel like they are covered in leather using latex paint and a suede brush. To do this, first the walls are painted with the selected shade, then the glaze is mixed with a dye, but of a darker tone. Next comes the application of this mixture to part of the base. Later, the brush is wetted in water and wrung out well. Until the wall is completely dry, you need to run a wrung-out tool over it, making streaks;

• Creating the effect of Versailles plaster. It is recommended to purchase latex paint here. Using a plastic spatula, cover the wall with the prepared solution like regular plaster. To create balance in color, you need to move the tool in different directions. It seems that the walls are made of natural stone, among which onyx is considered special;
• Walls made of OSB boards have a ready-made decorative texture. All you need to do is choose the right paint and carefully apply it to the base. It is better to do this work in several layers.

These are not all ways to decorate walls. There are a huge number of options that depend only on the owner’s ideas and available tools.

There is nothing difficult in decorating surfaces at home, it is only important to follow the step-by-step rules for applying a particular composition, depending on what effect you want to achieve.
