The Boy Who Lived
The first book in the Harry Potter series begins with a story about the Dursley family. This is normal English family, consisting of three people: Vernon, director of a drill company, his wife Petunia and their one-year-old son Dudley. November 1, 1981 was an ordinary day for them, except for the various strange things going on around them, and this family really did not like strange things. On the same day, at night, the headmaster of Hogwarts School of Wizardry, Professor Albus Dumbledore, and Hogwarts Professor Minerva McGonagall meet at night at their home, at number 4 Privet Drive, Little Whinging, on the outskirts of Surrey in England. They are discussing latest events magical world. Lord Voldemort, the most powerful and sinister dark wizard of all time, has finally been defeated. Unfortunately, he killed his last two victims before disappearing: the wizarding spouses Lily and James Potter. Their little son, Harry, somehow managed to survive. Moreover, apparently, Voldemort was defeated precisely when he wanted to kill one-year-old Harry. As a keepsake from his meeting with Voldemort, he only had a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt on his forehead. Harry is destined to become a legend of the wizarding world, the Boy Who Lived, and Dumbledore believes that it would be better for Harry to grow up away from the unwanted fame and attention that would surround him in the wizarding world.
The half-giant Hagrid, Hogwarts forester and close friend of Dumbledore, brings the Potter child to the two professors.
Harry is given into the care of the Dursley family: after all, Petunia Dursley was the sister of Harry Potter's mother. But the Dursleys hated the Potter family, hardly saw them, and hated wizards. By the way, they were one of the few ordinary people - Muggles - who knew about the world of wizards, but tried not to know anything about it, considering wizards to be abnormal people.
Disappeared glass
Harry Potter lived with the Dursley family until he was 11 years old. He was the same age as his cousin, the spoiled fat Muggle Dudley Dursley. Harry's aunt and uncle never told him anything about the wizarding world, but they deceived him by telling him that his parents were drunkards and died in a car accident. They didn't love him, gave him almost nothing, and he lived in a closet under the stairs of the Dursley's house. Once at the zoo, where Harry ended up in company with the Dursley family only because they were afraid to leave him alone at home - what if he did something wrong? — Dudley began to tease the boa constrictor, who was sitting in a terrarium behind thick glass. Harry suddenly discovered that he could talk to a boa constrictor; he sympathized huge snake, and suddenly the glass dissolved into thin air. The boa constrictor crawled out of the terrarium, thanked Harry and crawled away into freedom. When Dudley told Uncle Vernon what happened at the terrarium, he became furious and punished Harry with a week in the closet.
Letters from who knows who
A week before his eleventh birthday, owls begin to fly to the Dursleys, bringing letters addressed to Harry. Harry received a letter written to Mr. G. Potter, Surrey, Little Whinging, Privet Street, number four, cupboard under the stairs. Vernon Dursley destroys them, preventing Harry from reading them, but the letters continue to arrive. The Dursleys board up the mailbox, but one day several dozen letters fly out of the fireplace. The Dursleys leave home with the boy. However, letters also arrive at the hotel where they are staying. Then the Dursleys sail to a small island where, in their opinion, no one will find them.

That same night (it was the night of July 31, 1991 - Harry's birthday) the door of the hut was broken down by the giant Rubeus Hagrid. He wished Harry a happy birthday, gave him a cake and told him the truth about his family and the magical world. Harry read the letter: it was an invitation to study at Hogwarts. He agreed, and the spiteful objections of his uncle and aunt were not taken into account.
Diagon Alley

Harry buys a wand from Ollivander's shop. He notices an interesting similarity between Harry and Voldemort - their wands contain two feathers from the tail of the same phoenix. On September 1, Harry goes to Hogwarts. On the platform and on the train, Harry meets the Weasley family of wizards. Sorting Hat
The train arrives at the school. First-year students are delighted with Hogwarts - it is a huge, beautiful ancient castle. In the great hall, all new students are sorted into the four houses, giving them to try on an old hat that once belonged to one of the founders of the school, Godric Gryffindor. Start of studies
Neville becomes friends with Harry and Ron. Harry, Ron and Hermione discover that in one of the Hogwarts corridors, where students are forbidden to enter, a three-headed dog, whom Hagrid called Fluffy, is guarding some kind of hatch. They decide that Fluffy is most likely guarding what unknown thieves tried to steal from Gringotts. Their guess is confirmed by the phrase thrown by Hagrid that what is hidden in Hogwarts concerns only Dumbledore and Nicholas Flamel.
Halloween
During one of the lessons, Ron said something offensive about Hermione. Hermione didn't show up for the next lesson and until the evening no one knew where she was. Only going down to the Great Hall for the Halloween banquet. Harry and Ron overheard Hermione crying in the women's restroom and not calming down, asking to be left alone.
A troll has entered the school and the students are sent to their dormitories. Harry and Ron ran to the ladies' room and rescued Hermione. All three of them knocked out the troll together, and when McGonagall arrived, angry that the students were not in their dormitories, Hermione took the blame. From that moment on, Harry, Ron and Hermione became best friends.
Harry noticed a wound on Snape's leg and realized that he had been bitten by Fluffy.
Quidditch
During the first Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin, the broom began to throw Harry Potter off. Hermione noticed that Snape was constantly looking at Potter and whispering something. She runs past Snape (knocking Quirrell down in the process) and uses a spell to set his clothes on fire. The broom stops throwing Harry, and he catches the Snitch (with his mouth). Mirror of Erised
Harry, Ron and Hermione try to look for Flamel's name in the library, but are unsuccessful.
For Christmas, Harry receives an invisibility cloak as a gift from an unknown person. Using the robe, Harry sneaks into the forbidden section of the library at night, where books are kept that students can read only with the written permission of the teachers, in search of information about Nicholas Flamel. The very first book that Harry opens begins to howl loudly, and the school caretaker, Argus Filch, comes running into the library. Fleeing from Filch and from Severus Snape, who joined him, in an abandoned classroom, Harry discovers the Mirror of Erised, which shows a person his deepest desire.
Harry sees himself and his family in the mirror. The following nights, Harry comes to the mirror again until he meets Headmaster Dumbledore in the room. He warns that the mirror eventually replaces the real world for people, and they can no longer stop looking into it. Harry and Dumbledore agree that Dumbledore will rehide the mirror.
Nicholas Flamel
After all the unsuccessful searches, Harry finally discovers Flamel's name on a trading card from a chocolate frog, which directly states that Dumbledore provided invaluable assistance to Nicholas in creating the first and only philosopher's stone, with which you can prepare the elixir of life and turn any metal into gold, and that Flamel and his wife have been living for several hundred years.
From Hagrid, friends learn that the Philosopher's Stone is really in the school, and every teacher created an obstacle on the way to it, for example, Hagrid gave Dumbledore the dog Fluffy.
Harry overhears Severus Snape secretly prying information from Quirrell, the timid and stuttering Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. The friends decide that Snape is trying to steal the stone to restore Lord Voldemort's power, and he needs the secret from Quirrell on how to get the stone. Ron and Hermione fear that the timid Quirrell will not be able to resist Snape's pressure for long and will reveal his secret.
During the Quidditch Championship, the Gryffindor team plays the Hufflepuff team. For some reason, Snape personally judges this match. The Gryffindors are afraid that Snape will again use some spells against Harry, but Dumbledore himself comes to the match. Harry understands that in the presence of Dumbledore, Snape will not dare to harm him. At the match, Harry wins by catching the Snitch, and Snape, beside himself with anger, is forced to count the victory to his team.
A dragon named Norbert
At the Hogs Head Inn in Hogsmeade Village, Hagrid won a dragon egg from a stranger at cards. Hagrid keeps the egg until it hatches and raises it. Breeding dragons is strictly prohibited in England; they are aggressive and dangerous; among other things, Hagrid lives in wooden house, which the dragon can simply burn with its flames. To save Hagrid from trouble, Harry, Ron and Hermione smuggle the dragon to Charlie Weasley, Ron's older brother, who is studying dragons in Romania. It is later revealed that this dragon was a female and is renamed Norberta.
forbidden Forest
Malfoy finds out about what happened and reports to Filch. Minerva McGonagall, the dean of Gryffindor, does not believe the story with the dragon, but for being outside the castle at night, she deducts 150 points from Gryffindor, and Gryffindor ends up in last place in the house competition. In addition, as punishment, all four (including Malfoy himself) are sent with Hagrid to the Forbidden Forest. It turns out that someone killed a unicorn in the forest. Centaur Florenz explains to Harry that killing a unicorn is a heinous crime, the purpose of which is to prolong life with the help of its blood. But whoever drinks the blood of a unicorn is cursed. Harry, Ron and Hermione realize that this is Voldemort, who wants to regain his body. He is still very weak, but the unicorn’s blood gives him strength, and to return his body and immortality he needs the Philosopher’s Stone.
Finding the Philosopher's Stone
Harry's scar often hurts, and he considers it a warning of danger. Harry suggests that the stranger who was beaten at cards by Hagrid has something to do with the theft of the philosopher's stone. Hagrid admits to Harry that he told the stranger how to deal with Fluffy: music puts the dog to sleep.
Having learned about this, Harry, Ron and Hermione decide to tell Dumbledore everything. But Dumbledore has been called by an urgent telegram to the Ministry of Magic, and he is not at school. Harry, Ron and Hermione decide, hiding under the invisibility cloak, to take the philosopher's stone before Snape steals it for Voldemort. But on the way to the stone they overcome many obstacles:

The hatch opens a passage into the darkness. There are no stairs in the passage. Harry, Ron, Hermione jumping with high altitude, but land on some soft plant.
The plant begins to choke them. Hermione remembers that this plant is called the devil's snare and it is afraid of light and heat. She lights a fire at the end of her wand and the plant crawls away. These are Professor Stebel's tests.

On the table is a parchment with a poetic riddle, from which it follows that one of the drinks allows you to go forward, one - back, 2 - wine, 3 - poison. Hermione solves the riddle. Hermione returns, takes Ron and, sitting on a broom in the room with the keys, flies away, flying past Fluffy on the broom in order to immediately send an owl to Dumbledore. Harry moves on. He passed Professor Snape's test last room turns out to be Quirrell and the mirror of Erised. Quirrell admits that he tried to kill Harry, killed the unicorn and wants to steal the philosopher's stone. During the match, he tried to kill Harry, and Snape tried to save him. Hermione, accidentally knocking Quirrell over, prevented him from throwing Harry off his broom.
Harry sees in the mirror how his reflection puts the stone in his pocket, and the stone actually ends up in Harry's pocket. Quirrell unwinds his turban—he has a second face on the back of his head. This is the face of Voldemort, who possessed Quirrell. Voldemort demands the stone from Harry, but he refuses to give it. Then Voldemort orders Quirrell to kill Harry, but every touch from Harry causes Quirrell terrible pain. Dumbledore arrives in time and saves Harry. Voldemort disappears, leaving Quirrell to die.
While Harry is recovering from his encounter with Voldemort, Dumbledore tells him that Harry's mother protected the boy at the cost of her own life. His mother's love gave Harry protection against Voldemort and therefore Quirrell could not touch Harry; Snape hated and hates Harry's father, but he once saved his life, so Snape, in turn, saved Harry's life; Erised was enchanted to give the stone only to those who wanted to find it, but not to use it. Others could only see in the mirror how they drink the elixir of life or turn metal into gold; Flamel decided to destroy the Philosopher's Stone to prevent Voldemort from stealing it in the future; he and his wife would die (at over 600 years of age), but "for a highly organized mind, death is just another adventure"; Harry received the invisibility cloak from Dumbledore himself.
The Gryffindor Quidditch team loses to Ravenclaw due to Harry Potter being ill and unable to participate in the game. Ravenclaw wins the school championship. The school year is coming to an end. But for saving the philosopher's stone, Dumbledore awards 50 points to Ron and Hermione, 60 points to Potter and 10 points to Neville. Thus, Gryffindor wins the competition between houses. All the students board the train and go to London. In two months, Harry and his friends will return for their second year.

The idea of creating a book about a young wizard came to an Englishwoman by chance - at the station while waiting for the Manchester - London train. Between the birth of the idea and its implementation there were five for long years. Only in 1995 did the aspiring writer finish the first manuscript of a story about a young magician.
The woman, in a conversation with journalists about the details of writing the books, said that she always kept the plots strictly secret. Even the husband did not know the details of the affair. This rule is followed during the creation of each work.
The book, entitled “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,” was sent to 12 publishing houses, but none of them liked it. Fortune smiled on Joan a year later - her literary brainchild decided to be published by the Bloomsbury publishing house. According to rumors, this was thanks to the chairman’s little daughter, who was delighted with reading the adventures of the young wizard.

Who actually became the prototype for Harry Potter remains a mystery. As a child, JK Rowling was friends with a boy named Ian Potter, frail and small for his age, who wore round glasses. As a result, they discovered that Harry Potter is very reminiscent of Paul Muad'Dib from Dune - the character also inherited black hair from his father and green eyes from his mother, also lost his parents early and has magical abilities.
Magic
Magic surrounded Potter from infancy. To save her one-year-old son, the mother gave her life, giving Harry protection from dark forces. The “amulet” disappeared on the day of coming of age - at the age of 17, or at the moment when the boy decided to leave the house of his aunt, his mother’s sister, forever. The young man left the shelter of his relative shortly before his “fateful” birthday.
On the day of his mother's death, Harry Potter became a Horcrux - the boy contained one of the eight parts of the dark magician's soul. Horcruxes provided the dark magician with immortality. Harry was the only Horcrux who had the ability to penetrate Voldemort's mind.
While studying in his third year, Potter mastered the difficult science of summoning a patronus. The magical essence, which protects from evil creatures, appeared with the help of a spell, and the main requirement was to remember the happiest events of life during the ritual.
An additional incredible gift that the boy possessed was the ability to talk with snakes, thereby joining the ranks of the so-called parsel-mouth magicians.
Some appeared spontaneously in Harry. So, the boy managed to shrink the terrible sweater given by his aunt, after which it simply became small. He grew his hair overnight, and one day, when he got angry, he blew up a glass in Aunt Marge's hand and then blew her up like a balloon.

A fairy-tale world filled with the adventures of young wizards is revealed detail by detail in seven volumes. In the first part, readers meet little Harry, left in the care of his aunt and uncle, and in the last, the adult protagonists, who have become parents, send their children to Hogwarts - it’s already 2017.
The Potter series also features the eighth book, in which events unfold from the moment the children are sent off to the school of magicians. However, it is difficult to call the book a full volume; it is a play called “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” created by Rowling in collaboration with playwright Jack Thorne. Director John Tiffany also had a hand in the work; audiences saw the play in the summer of 2016 on the stage of the Palase Theater in London.
"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone"
In 1980, a prophecy was made that a boy would soon be born who would defeat Lord Voldemort (played a role in the films). In the room where the stone lies, Harry meets teacher Quirrell, who has repeatedly attempted to kill the boy. And again he is going to kill Potter, but in the end he himself crumbles, freeing a piece of Voldemort’s soul. The philosopher's stone would have helped the magician to be reborn, but the attempt failed.
In the same book, Harry receives a gift from Hagrid - an album with photos of his parents.
"Harry Potter And The Chamber of secrets"
In the second year of study at Hogwarts, it turns out that the school has a Chamber of Secrets, where, according to legend, a terrible basilisk snake was closed by the school’s founder, Salazar Slytherin. Slytherin was considered a fighter against the training of novice half-breed wizards at school, who would have to be destroyed by the monster released from the room.
Since the beginning of the school year, strange things began to happen at Hogwarts: the inhabitants of the school became numb, and signs began to appear near them that the Chamber of Secrets was open.
Book "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" The school of magic is preparing for the Triwizard Tournament, where the three best wizards from different educational institutions will compete. "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix"
Potter was almost expelled from Hogwarts for using magic outside the school walls. On a walk, Harry met his cousin Dudley, suddenly the boys were attacked by dementors. A timely summoned patronus saved the day. Thanks to the protection of school principal Albrus Dumbledore, the young man was acquitted.
Book "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" The young wizard, restored to his rights, enters the secret society “Dumbledore’s Troop” created by Hermione at school, where young wizards independently learn protective spells. And at the same time he learns occlumency to protect his consciousness. The fact is that a hidden mental connection is discovered between Voldemort and Harry. The secret society was betrayed by one of the students, and as a result, Dumbledore had to flee.
One day, Harry sees in a dream how the Dark Magician is torturing his godfather Sirius in the Ministry of Magic, and hurries to the rescue. However, Sirius is not found, but a curious object awaits the young man - a ball with a Prophecy, on which his name and the Dark Lord are emblazoned. The dream turned out to be a trap.
In the battle, where members of the Order of the Phoenix participated, Sirius Black dies, and Harry breaks the ball with the Prophecy. Voldemort's luck ran out again - Dumbledore stopped his attempt to kill Potter. He also spoke about the prophecy - the war will continue as long as Harry and the evil magician are alive, one must die.
"Harry Potter and Half Blood Prince"
The main events of the book are Harry learning about the existence of Horcruxes and the death of Dumbledore at the hands of the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Severus Snape (actor).
Thanks to the old textbook "Advanced Potions Course", signed by a certain Half-Blood Prince, Potter becomes the best student in this subject. The owner of the book turned out to be Snape.
Book "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" Harry, along with Dumbledore, rushed to search for the Horcruxes, however, both almost died. One of the horcruxes - Slytherin's medallion - was found, but turned out to be false.
After Dumbledore's death, Harry plans to devote time to searching for the rest of the Horcruxes in the next school year instead of school.
"Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"
The last Potter book, in which main character looking for horcruxes. And he finds it, but it turns out that a piece of his soul is kept inside himself. The young man decides to sacrifice himself by going to Voldemort. The dark magician struck Harry with the Avada Kedavra spell, but he managed to avoid death a second time. Films and actors
The rights to film the first four books about the adventures of the little wizard were bought from the author in 1999. The fee was £1 million, but Rowling also received a portion of the proceeds from the distribution of each film. Stephen Kloves took on the task of creating the script, and first applied for the director's position. However, later they replayed it, and Chris Columbus took the helm of the director’s version of the magical saga.
The writer, while still on the shore, discussed an interesting detail with the filmmakers: she gives consent to film adaptations of the books if all the actors are English. They say that the main role, at the insistence of the director, was intended for the young American film actor Liam Aiken, but Joan decisively rejected the candidacy.
In the fall of 2000, the press was introduced to the British children who got the leading roles: (Harry), (Ron Weasley) and (Hermione Granger).
And yet, foreign actors were included in the film: for example, Zoe Wanamaker, an Irishman by birth and a US citizen, and the goblin who led Harry to the vault was played by the American Verne Troyer.
The role of one of the key characters, Hogwarts director Albus Dumbledore, was played by Richard Harris. But in 2002, the actor died and received the reins of the school of wizards.
The filming used many large locations in London and other cities. They even showed up in the footage cathedrals in Gloucester and Durham, for which local residents accused the authors of the picture of sacrilege. All parts of the “Potter” series were also filmed at the WarnerBros studio pavilion, which later turned into a museum for the hero of fantasy lovers.

After Chris Columbus, who directed the first two films, the Harry Potter adventures were directed by Alfonso Cuaron and Mike Newell, and the last four parts were directed by David Yates.

Throughout all the books, the boy grows and changes, both in appearance and in character. When we first meet, Harry is 11 years old. Harry Potter is a downtrodden child, timid and modest, unquestioningly doing housework. At the school of wizards, noble traits begin to appear: the boy is always ready to help, is not afraid of danger, is brave and loyal to friendship. He is reputed to be a man who knows how to get into trouble; his father James had the same trait. Harry is alien to selfishness and ambition.
With age, Potter loses his timidity and does not hesitate to express emotions - the young man’s character becomes hot-tempered, he knows how to stand up for himself and his loved ones.
Family and friends
Harry is a descendant of the Peverell dynasty of wizards, whose roots go back centuries. However, everyone who has magic belongs to this family. The boy was born to the wizards at the end of July 1980. After the death of his parents, the baby ended up in the house of his maternal aunt Petunia Dursley, where he lived for ten years.
The aunt and her husband Vernon did not love their nephew, but they adored their own son, Dudley. WITH cousin Harry’s relationship didn’t work out either - the fat, unpleasant boy constantly bullied the main character and fought.
While still on his way to Hogwarts, Potter found two true friends with whom he would go hand in hand throughout his life. Ron Weasley, a representative of an ancient family of wizards, immediately captivated Harry's lonely soul with his openness and honesty. Harry married a girl with copper hair and a pretty face (an actress), the sister of Ron's friend, a Hogwarts student who was a year younger. This is the long-awaited girl in the Weasley family of wizards - for several generations only boys were born. The couple still has three children, although Potter was predicted to be the father of many children, raising 12 offspring.
The eldest son was named after his father and godfather Harry, the child bears double name James Sirius. "Deathly Hallows": summary

The school was captured by Death Eaters, and Snape became the headmaster. The main characters are not only hiding from dark magicians, but also looking for horcruxes.

Unfortunately, before disappearing, he killed two wizards - the spouses Lily and James Potter. Their little son, Harry, somehow managed to survive. As a keepsake from his meeting with Voldemort, he only had a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt on his forehead. The second Harry Potter novel begins on his 12th birthday. Harry hadn't received a single letter from Ron or Hermione since the beginning of summer. Nobody congratulates him on his birthday either, about which Cousin Dudley gloats. Uncle Vernon, not even remembering the holiday, demands that Harry sit quietly in his room all evening. Today, important business partners are due to visit, with whom Vernon hopes to sign the biggest deal of his life.
That same evening, a house elf named Dobby appears in Harry's room and declares that Harry Potter should not return to Hogwarts, because he faces terrible danger there. Harry refuses to comply with Dobby's request not to return to school, for which the elf commits witchcraft right in front of the Dursleys and their guests (lifts the cake into the air, after which it falls on the head of the Dursleys' important guest). Soon, Harry receives a letter informing him that underage wizards are prohibited from performing magic outside of school, and threatens to expel Harry Potter if this happens again. The events of the book begin during the summer holidays of 1993. On July 31, Harry again celebrates his birthday alone; the Dursley family did not bother to remember his holiday. Harry's fourth year at Hogwarts is approaching. He is visiting the Weasleys' house. At night he dreams horrible dream: an old abandoned house inhabited by the Dark Lord and his minions. Voldemort gives some instructions to his comrades - Peter (“Tail”) Pettigrew and an unknown person young man. Then he kills the old Muggle gardener Frank Bryce, caretaker of the estate, who suddenly appears. Hermione, who has just arrived, wakes up Harry and Ron. At dawn, together with the twins Fred and George, Ginny and their father Arthur Weasley, they set off. They soon meet Amos Diggory and his son Cedric, a Hogwarts senior student from the Hufflepuff house. Having climbed the hill, they transgress through the old portal shoe to the site of the Quidditch World Cup finals.
After the Irish victory, the camp is attacked by Death Eaters - supporters of Voldemort. With Arthur's help, Harry, Ron and Hermione are saved. When everything calms down, an unknown man casts a Dark Mark spell using Harry's wand. The trio are caught by the Ministry of Magic, and Mr. Weasley protects them again.
The school year begins. Albus Dumbledore announces that Hogwarts is becoming the venue for a grandiose event - the Triwizard Tournament, the traditional competition of magical schools. Representatives of France, the Beauxbatons school, and representatives of the far North, the Durmstrang school, are invited to this tournament. Students who have reached the age of 17 can take part, and the participants themselves are selected by the Goblet of Fire, one from each school. At the same time, Alastor Moody, the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, appears at the school, but the students do not approve of his methods and are afraid of him.
As a result of the selection, Viktor Krum from Durmstrang, Fleur Delacour from Beauxbatons and Cedric Diggory from Hogwarts become participants in the tournament. But then the Cup throws out a fourth note - with the name “Harry Potter”. Everyone is shocked, and the teachers cannot understand how the name of fourteen-year-old Harry got into the cup. The main judge of the tournament, Bartemi Crouch, frightened and confused, hastily approves Harry as a participant. All students, except Gryffindors, begin to mock Harry. Even Ron is offended by him because Harry allegedly did not share his plans with him.
Hagrid takes Harry into the forest and tells him about the first task, where there will be a fight with the dragon. Fleur and Kram also know about this task, since their mentors, Madame Maxim and Igor Karkarov, were also in the forest. Harry decides to warn Cedric about the task. In another skirmish with Malfoy, Harry protects Moody, turning Draco into a ferret. Christmas is approaching. A Yule Ball is to take place at Hogwarts, led by the tournament participants. Harry makes an attempt to invite Cho Chang from Ravenclaw, but she has already been invited by Cedric. Ron tries to invite Hermione, but she is invited by Viktor Krum. At the ball, Ron makes a scene of jealousy and spoils Hermione's mood. Before the second task, Cedric returns the favor to Harry and advises him to take a bath in the prefects' bath, taking the egg with him. Moaning Myrtle tells Harry to open the egg underwater, which he does.
The day of the second task arrives. His essence is to swim underwater and save what is dear to him. An hour is allotted for this task. Krum, under the influence of the Imperius spell, attacks Fleur, but leaves Harry alone. A skirmish occurs between Victor and Cedric, in which Cedric knocks out Krum. Both rush to the cup, but then Cedric is captured by the roots of the labyrinth.
Harry shows nobility again by saving Cedric. They decide to win together, holding the cup at the same time, for this is a victory for all of Hogwarts. The cup turns out to be a portal, they are transported to the cemetery that Harry dreamed of. "Tail" Pettigrew appears and, on Voldemort's orders, kills Cedric. Then he chains Harry on the monument to Tom Riddle's father and creates the Bone, Flesh and Blood potion. Voldemort is revived, and four more Death Eaters appear (including Lucius Malfoy).
The Dark Lord then challenges Harry to a show duel, and their Expelliarmus and Avada Kedavra spells collide, forming a chain from which emerge the spirits of those whom Voldemort's wand killed in last time(including the spirits of Harry's parents). They advise Harry to break the chain when necessary, and Cedric asks to take his body with them. Harry breaks the chain and takes hold of Cedric's body and the Portal Cup, facilitating his return to Hogwarts.
Harry is declared the winner, and at the same time everyone is shocked by the death of Cedric. Harry is in a state of extreme depression. He announces the return of the Dark Lord. The Minister of Magic is trying to hush up what happened and hide the terrible news. Taking advantage of the general confusion, Moody takes Harry into the office, and he tells him everything in detail.
Here Moody begins to feel bad and, having discovered the end of the supply of the polyjuice potion, admits to Harry that it was he who threw his name into the Goblet. It was he who advised Hagrid to take Harry into the forest, and it was Moody who gave the hint to Diggory, and Neville - the gillweed. It was he who bewitched Krum. Harry Potter spends his summer holidays with the Dursleys. After another round of rudeness from his cousin Dudley and his company, he is going to cast a spell on Dudley. Suddenly the weather turns bad and Dudley's friends run away. Harry and Dudley run home through an underground passage, where they are attacked by Dementors. Harry manages to summon a Patronus, drive away the Dementors and thereby save himself and Dudley. At home, Harry receives a letter from the Ministry of Magic about his expulsion from school for using magic. In the evening, he is rescued from trouble by a squad of wizards, including Moody, Nymphadora Tonks and others. They explain to Harry that Professor Dumbledore has asked Minister Fudge to delay Harry's expulsion until the official hearing, and they take him to Grimmauld Place to Sirius Black's ancestral home, where the Weasley family are ensconced along with Hermione and the rest of the Order of the Phoenix.
The next day, Harry and Mr. Weasley go to the Ministry of Magic for the hearing. Umbridge carefully inspects the teachers and almost expels the Divination teacher, Professor Trelawney, from Hogwarts. And then Harry, at the insistence of his friends, Hermione and Ron, takes the initiative into his own hands.
Harry regularly and secretly meets with a small group of students calling themselves Dumbledore's Army. The squad is based in the Help Room, which opens in case of emergency. Harry teaches everyone the spells he knows. But Umbridge suspects a conspiracy, interrogates the students and creates an Inspection Squad, which includes Malfoy, Crabbe, Goyle and Filch, to track down the members of the Squad. One time, they almost catch Luna Lovegood, but fail.
One night, Harry dreams of someone attacking Mr. Weasley. Dumbledore understands the seriousness of the situation and instructs Professor Snape to conduct classes with Harry on Occlumency - protecting his mind from other people's penetration (since Voldemort can use this connection at any time). Harry's first classes are unsuccessful, and meanwhile there is a mass escape from Azkaban. The Ministry shifts the blame to Sirius Black.
After the Christmas holidays, some students stop believing the Ministry and side with Harry. In addition, Hagrid returns to Hogwarts and says that Dumbledore sent him to negotiate with the giants. He then takes the prophecy, and then his friends are surrounded by Death Eaters, including Lucius Malfoy and Bellatrix Lestrange, who was responsible for torturing the parents of Neville Longbottom. Everyone understands that the vision with Sirius was a trap, but Dumbledore's Troop managed to break through the encirclement and escape.
However, the Death Eaters still capture everyone except Harry. The latter has to give the prophecy to Mr. Malfoy, after which Moody, Sirius, Tonks, Kingsley Brestwer and Remus Lupin appear. A battle begins, during which Bellatrix kills Sirius. Fueled by rage and revenge, Harry pursues the killer and uses Crucio to knock Bellatrix off her feet. Voldemort and Dumbledore appear. A duel begins between them, during which Riddle (that is, the Dark Lord) penetrates Harry's consciousness and tortures him.
Dumbledore says the key is how they differ. Potter understands that this key is love and friendship. The Dark Lord emerges from Harry's consciousness and prepares to kill him, but Minister Fudge and the Aurors appear through Floo powder. Voldemort is transgressing, and the Daily Prophet reports that:
- Dumbledore and Potter are exonerated;
- Fudge resigns;
- Umbridge is suspended from her duties as director and inspector general pending the outcome of the investigation;
- the return of the Dark Lord has been officially confirmed;
- Dumbledore has been reinstated as Headmaster.
- Albus reveals the truth about the prophecy, and Potter tells his friends that believing in yourself and your friends is the key to fighting Voldemort.

Now not only the world of wizards, but also the world of Muggles is suffering from the return of Voldemort. Death Eaters kidnap Mr. Ollivander, a wand specialist. At the request of Albus Dumbledore, Professor Horace Slughorn returns to Hogwarts. He once taught potions here. In the new academic year (1996-1997), Slughorn will again take the place of teacher. Professor Severus Snape, in turn, received the position of teacher of Defense Against the Dark Arts.
Draco Malfoy becomes a Death Eater instead of his arrested father and receives a task from the Dark Lord: to kill Dumbledore. Meanwhile, Severus Snape makes an Unbreakable Vow to Narcissa Malfoy and vows to help her son, Draco, in his quest. To do this, Malfoy tries to fix the disappearing cabinet in the Room of Requirement and at the same time makes several attempts on Dumbledore's life. The victim of the first attempt turns out to be Katie Bell, and the second - Ron Weasley. Harry Potter suspects Malfoy, and their relationship becomes tense. A duel occurs between them, in which Harry almost kills Draco, but Snape appears in time and saves Malfoy.
Meanwhile, Dumbledore is looking for Voldemort's Horcruxes. The memory concerns how Tom Riddle, during his studies at Hogwarts, elicited information about Horcruxes from Horace Slughorn, which greatly contributed to the transformation of Tom Riddle into Voldemort. When Harry carries out an errand for Dumbledore, they go together to retrieve the supposed Horcrux, but only on the condition that Harry obeys orders without question. Harry and Dumbledore head to the cave where Dumbledore believes the Horcrux is located.
In this cave there is a lake where infernals live, and in the middle of it is a horcrux that can only be obtained by drinking a potion. At the same time, it deprives the mind of the one who drank it. Dumbledore, with Harry's help, drinks the potion and they take the Horcrux. After returning to Hogwarts, Dumbledore orders Harry to hide, but not to reveal himself. Draco Malfoy bursts into the tower and disarms the unresisting headmaster. Soon after, Death Eaters appear on the tower and Snape kills Dumbledore. Harry sets out in pursuit of Snape and the Death Eaters, but to no avail: Severus reveals the secret that he is the same Half-Blood Prince.
The school mourns Dumbledore, while Harry discovers that the Horcrux (i.e. Slytherin's locket) is a fake, and that it was left behind by the mysterious R.A.B. (that is, as it later turns out, Regulus Arcturus Black, Sirius' brother). Harry decides not to return to school for next year, and devote himself to the destruction of the Dark Lord. In 1997, Death Eaters sweep across London, causing death and destruction. Mass evacuation begins. Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody, Mundungus Fletcher, Rubeus Hagrid, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and others fly to the Dursley's house to save Harry Potter. Ron, Hermione, George, Fred, Fleur and Mr. Fletcher take on Harry's appearance after drinking Polyjuice Potion. The convoy is attacked by the Eaters, and Lord Voldemort immediately identifies the real Harry Potter (his owl Hedwig flew after him).
The Dark Lord was unlucky - the magic wand in his hands once again refuses to kill Harry. Moody and Hedwig were killed, and one of the Weasley twins was seriously wounded. The Minister of Magic, Rufus Scrimgeour, arrives at the Weasley house and reads out Dumbledore's will. In addition, Dumbledore bequeathed to Harry the sword of Godric Gryffindor, which, as it turned out, had disappeared. The Death Eaters attack again, but Harry, Ron and Hermione transgress into one of the London cafes. There they accidentally meet two Death Eaters, stun them, and Hermione erases their memories.
Thanks to Ron, Potter learns that the man who made the fake medallion, R.A.B., is Regulus Arcturus Black, the brother of Sirius Black. But the Black house was robbed, and the thief sold the medallion for next to nothing to Dolores Umbridge. Using a polyjuice potion, the friends transform into employees of the Ministry of Magic - Albert Runcorn, Reginald Crotcott and Mufalda Khmelkirk. They make their way to the Ministry, where Harry, in his new guise, stuns Umbridge and steals the locket. After this, the trio transgresses into the forest.
A new problem appears - the medallion cannot be destroyed with simple spells. Ron quarrels with the others and leaves. One night, Harry sees the Phantom Hind, his mother's patronus, on the ice. In the place where she stood, under the water lies the sword of Gryffindor. Potter dives and takes out this sword, but the medallion on his neck pulls him to the bottom, preventing him from rising to the surface. Ron, who appeared on time, saves his friend, after which the two of them destroy the Horcrux. In a book of fairy tales, Hermione finds a strange sign - a divided circle in a triangle. In the spring of 1998, they learn from Luna Lovegood's father, Xenophilius, that this was a sign of the legendary Deathly Hallows. It appears that Voldemort is seeking the Elder Wand, one of these gifts, the most powerful of all wands.
The trio is captured, and Bellatrix Lestrange tortures Hermione to find out where she got Godric Gryffindor's sword. But Hermione doesn’t know this, and she has a bloody scar on her arm in the form of the word “Mudblood.” With the help of Dobby the elf, the prisoners manage to escape, but the brownie himself dies. Voldemort arrives at Hogwarts and goes to the tomb where Dumbledore is buried. There he opens the grave, takes the Elder Wand from Dumbledore's hands and releases a white beam from it into the sky. The latter openly challenges Professor Snape, and the majority of students and teachers, under the leadership of Professor McGonagall, side with Harry. Snape escapes while the Slytherins are locked in the basement.
Voldemort's army gathers in the Forbidden Forest and is ready to attack Hogwarts. At night the battle begins. Meanwhile, Ron and Hermione go down to the Chamber of Secrets, break off the basilisk's fang and destroy the Horcrux in the bowl, and Harry finds the next Horcrux - Candida Ravenclaw's tiara in the Room of Requirement. Suddenly Malfoy, Blaise Zabini and Goyle appear. One of them, namely Goyle, intends to kill Harry and causes Hellfire, but it gets out of control and devours the entire Room of Requirement, and Goyle himself dies.
Harry manages to save Malfoy, and Ron manages to save Blaise. They fly out of the Room of Requirement on broomsticks, and Hermione immediately throws Harry a basilisk fang, with which he destroys the Horcrux in the tiara. Ron kicks him into the Hellfire in the Room of Requirement, the doors of which immediately close. The Battle of Hogwarts is suspended, and Voldemort promises not to touch anyone else if Harry himself comes to him. He calls Snape to him and tells him that the Elder Wand, which he took from Dumbledore's grave, does not obey him. And since Snape killed Dumbledore, it means that he is the real owner of the Elder Wand.
It follows that Voldemort, in order to become the rightful owner of the Elder Wand, must kill Snape, which he does. Harry and his friends, who came to the dying professor, collect his memories in a test tube. During the battle, Fred Weasley, Remus Lupine and Nymphadora Tonks die.
From Snape's memories, Harry learns that Professor Dumbledore was dying, and Professor Snape killed him at his own request. Since childhood, Severus has been madly in love with Harry's mother, Lily. Therefore, he helped Professor Dumbledore and, at his request, guarded Harry. But during the attack on the Potters, the Dark Lord accidentally left a part of his soul in Harry (in other words, Harry himself is a Horcrux), and now for Voldemort to become vulnerable, Harry must die by his hand. It was this ending that Professor Dumbledore was leading Harry to.
Harry says goodbye to his friends and goes to the Forbidden Forest. On the way, he takes out the Snitch, bequeathed by Professor Dumbledore, opens it and finds the Resurrection Stone there, having the opportunity to see his parents and dead friends. As soon as Harry enters the clearing where Voldemort is located, he casts the Avada Kedavra spell, and Harry falls to the ground. He comes to in a illuminated area similar to King's Cross Station. Under a dazzling white bench, Harry sees a creature that looks like an ugly baby - that part of Voldemort's soul that died with him.
Harry meets Professor Dumbledore and in a short conversation with him learns that he can choose his own future. Captured by the Death Eaters, Hagrid, along with Voldemort's army, carries Harry's body to Hogwarts, where they are met by a crowd of survivors. Lord Voldemort offers to stop resisting and come over to his side. A wounded Neville replies that Harry's death doesn't matter because they will fight to the end.
At this time, Harry himself, unexpectedly for Voldemort, comes to life in Hagrid's arms and enters the battle. Some Death Eaters (including the Malfoy family) flee. The defenders of Hogwarts fight Voldemort's supporters, and he himself pursues Potter. Ron and Hermione, in turn, are looking for the snake Nagini. During the battle, Bellatrix almost kills Ginny, for which Mrs. Weasley enters into a duel with her. At the decisive moment, the Elder Wand refuses to kill Harry Potter: the spells of both opponents collide. This contributes to the death of Voldemort, whose body dries out and crumbles.
Harry gets the Elder Wand. The latter recalls that Dumbledore was disarmed by Draco Malfoy before his death, and later he himself disarmed Draco. This means that the real owner of the Elder Wand is Harry, and not Professor Snape, as Voldemort believed. But Harry, not wanting to own Elder Wand, breaks it and throws it into the abyss and then repairs his wand.
19 years later, in 2017, Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione, as well as Draco and his wife Astoria, send their children to Hogwarts.

On the eve of his eleventh birthday, the boy receives a letter, which is taken away by Uncle Vernon. The Dursleys and Harry leave for a hut on the island. On the night Harry turns eleven, Hagrid appears and tells him that he is a wizard and will study at Hogwarts. Harry also learns about his parents for the first time. Together with Hagrid, they buy everything necessary for the school, and at this time Hagrid, on behalf of Dumbledore, takes something secret from the bank vault.
On the first of September, Harry leaves for Hogwarts from platform nine and three quarters of King's Cross Station. On the road, he meets Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger looks into the compartment. A huge three-headed dog is discovered in the castle, guarding some kind of hatch. After Harry and Ron save Hermione from the troll, they finally become friends. Somehow, in a conversation, Hagrid lets slip about Nicholas Flamel, and after a while the guys learn that the dog guards the philosopher's stone, which gives immortality. Harry also finds the Mirror of Erised, which shows what a person wants most. Hagrid lets it slip that the stone is guarded by several teachers, including Sprout, Flitwick, McGonagall, Quirrell, Snape and Dumbledore himself. Harry increasingly suspects that Snape is trying to steal the stone. While serving his sentence in the Forbidden Forest, Harry encounters an unknown person who drinks the blood of a unicorn to maintain life, and from the words of a centaur he understands that Snape is trying to steal the philosopher's stone for Voldemort.
After the exams, Harry's scar constantly hurts. It turns out that Hagrid told the stranger how to get past the three-headed dog Fluffy, which he had placed on the hatch. At this time, Dumbledore leaves for London, and Harry understands that Snape will try to get to the stone. So Potter decides to get ahead of him. Harry, Ron and Hermione encounter Professor Sprout's devilish snares, Professor Flitwick's flying keys, Professor McGonagall's magical chess, Professor Quirrell's troll and Professor Snape's potions. Ron stays in the chess room, and Hermione is forced to return after potions. Harry moves on, but instead of Snape he finds Quirrell, who cannot get the stone from the Mirror of Erised. It turns out that Quirrell serves Voldemort, and Snape, on the contrary, tried to save Potter, although he hated his father. On the back of Quirrell's head, the face of Voldemort is discovered, who tries to win Harry over to his side, and then orders him to be killed. But Quirrell gets burns from Potter's touch. Harry loses consciousness, and when he wakes up in the infirmary, he learns that Dumbledore managed to stop Quirrell. Harry was protected by the love of his dead mother. For actions to protect the stone, the guys receive points, which bring Gryffindor to first place in the house competition. After the announcement of successful exam results, students leave for the summer holidays.
