JOHN 6:37
37 ...and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out.

Oh, what a foundation of faith! It cannot be that a person came to Him and was expelled. Jesus said, “Whoever comes to me I will never cast out!”

GOSPEL OF JOHN 3:14-21
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15 So that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.
18 He who believes in Him is not condemned, but he who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
19 Now this is the judgment, that light has come into the world; but people loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds be exposed, because they are evil.
21 But he who does righteousness comes to the light, so that his deeds may be made clear, because they are done in God.

GOSPEL OF JOHN 3:36
36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not believe in the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

GOSPEL OF JOHN 5:24
24 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
ACTS OF THE HOLY APOSTLES 3:19,20
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,
20 Let times of refreshing come from the presence of the Lord.

EPHESIANS 2:8,9
8 For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God:
9 Not from works, so that no one can boast.
You have the intelligence to understand for yourself what the Bible says. I warn you again: do not listen to the explanations of people who take passages from Scripture and confuse you.
They don't care about your soul, otherwise they wouldn't try to deprive you of an authentic Christian experience. If they had any love for you, they would at least allow you to believe the Bible as it is. And they would encourage you to have a biblical experience.
When they fight so hard to rob you of your advantages, you would be foolish not to “wake up” and see that they are agents of the devil sending people to hell. It doesn't matter that they are the most sophisticated and religious people you have ever met - if they are stealing God's blessings from you, they are not serving God.
The Bible says: “And it is not surprising: for Satan himself disguises himself as an angel of light, and therefore it is not a great thing if his servants also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness: but their end will be according to their works” (2 Cor. 11:14,15).

Water of New Birth
We read that Jesus said, “Do not be surprised at this, that I said to you, You must be born again” (John 3:7). Just before He said this, He said, “...Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God” (John 3:5).
What

John 6:47 – “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in Me has eternal life.”

John 6:54 – “He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood has eternal life,
and I will raise him up at the last day"

1 John 5:11 – “This is this testimony, that God has given us eternal life,
and this life is in His Son"

1 John 5:13 – “I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you
By believing in the Son of God, you have eternal life."

Problem:

Evangelicals, Pentecostals and the Gospel Hall church emphasize these verses. Since John uses the past tense “has eternal life,” they are declaring that believers have eternal life now—their eternal security is guaranteed.

Solution:

1. Almost without exception, those who claim to have life "eternal security" also believe in the immortality of the soul. But if believers, as well as non-believers, have an immortal soul, then what about the eternal life that Jesus promised to give to believers?

2. If the argument is made that "being saved" believers are immune from hellfire and the lake of fire, where does John's Gospel and Epistles teach this?

3. Where can we get objective evidence that a “saved person” is truly saved? He may say that he is saved, but how can one know for certain that such statements of his are true?

4. The "saved" argument in the above passages rests on a misunderstanding of the use of grammatical tenses in John's writings. John uses the past tense when talking about future events to emphasize the certainty of their outcome. Take a look at the following examples:

  • “The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand” (John 3:35). But the writer of Hebrews says clearly: “Now we do not yet see that all things are subjected to him” (2:8).
  • “I have overcome the world” (John 16:33), but the Garden of Gethsemane was still ahead.
  • “I... have finished the work that You gave Me to do” (John 17:4). However, Jesus still had to die “for our sins according to the Scriptures” (1 Cor. 15:3).
  • “And the glory that You gave Me, I have given them...” (John 17:22). But believers will not receive final glorification until Christ returns and receives eternal life (Col. 1:27 cf. 2 Tim. 2:10-12).
  • “...let them see My glory which You have given Me” (John 17:24). Jesus was not yet glorified until his ascension (Luke 24:26; 1 Tim. 3:16).
  • See also Romans 4:17-21. Isaac was not yet born at the time his father received the promises; 2 Timothy 1:10. But people are still dying and will continue to die until the end of the Millennial Kingdom, when death will be destroyed (cf. 1 Cor. 15:24-28).

5. In a similar way, eternal life is spoken of as if it could be possessed now, although it will only be granted in the future, “at the last day.” This is proved in two ways: A) By showing that John refers to eternal life, given on the last day; B) By citing other New Testament references that show that eternal life and final salvation are still future attributes.

Here is evidence to support this:

  • Eternal life will be given on the “last day”:
    • “Now this is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I should destroy nothing, but raise it all up on the last day"(John 6:39).
    • “This is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day"(John 6:40).
    • “He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day"(John 6:54).
    • Eternal life is promised (1 John 2:24,25), but remains in the Son (1 John 5:11) until the “last day”, when it will be given to true believers.

  • Other passages that indicate that eternal life is not available to believers today:
    • « In hope eternal life, which God, who cannot change in word, promised before the ages began” (Titus 1:2).
    • “That, being justified by His grace, we according to hope(in hope) made heirs of eternal life" (Titus 3:7 compare with Romans 8:24 - "For we are saved in hope. But hope that sees is not hope; for if a man seeth, what shall he hope for? ?).
    • “And these will go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous to eternal life"(Matthew 25:46 compare with Dan.12:2). The context of this passage indicates that the righteous will be judged first and then invited to enter into eternal life (Matt. 25:31-46). This implies that the righteous do not have eternal life before entering into it.
  • Salvation in its final form will come in the future:
    • "For now closer salvation to us than when we believed” (Rom. 13:11). If salvation was nearer than when the saints believed, they obviously did not possess it in the present.
    • “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent to serve those who have inherit the rescue?" (Heb. 1:14). The heir cannot own the property in the present.
    • "...in the helmet hope salvation" (1 Thess. 5:8). A person does not need to hope for what he already possesses.

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

He who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

When Christ, your life, appears, then you will appear with Him in glory.

He who believes in the Son has eternal life, and he who does not believe in the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.

And whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into eternal life.

He who reaps receives his reward and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that both he who sows and he who reaps will rejoice together.

Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.

Search the Scriptures, for through them you think you have eternal life; and they testify of Me.

Do not strive for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you, for the Father, God, has set His seal on Him.

For the bread of God is the one that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.

He who loves his soul will destroy it; but he who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.

For life has appeared, and we have seen and testify and proclaim to you this eternal life, which was with the Father and was revealed to us.

I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that by believing in the Son of God you have eternal life.

The promise that He promised us is eternal life.

To those who, through constancy in good deeds, seek glory, honor and immortality, eternal life.

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

He said to him: Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. If you want to enter eternal life, keep the commandments.

... but if our outer man is decaying, then our inner man is being renewed from day to day.

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself. Jesus said to him: You answered correctly; do this and you will live.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever. He who eats My Flesh and drinks My Blood has eternal life. John 6:51–54

That is why we sigh, wanting to put on our heavenly dwelling; As long as we don’t end up naked even though we’re dressed.

This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.

36 He who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not believe in the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
(John 3:36).

This verse is often used as proof of the doctrine that a person can obtain salvation only by faith in Christ, a faith that is not accompanied by any works of obedience. This doctrine is also called the doctrine of salvation by faith alone.

Faith in the name of Jesus Christ as the Son of God is obedience to God:

23 And this is His commandment, that we believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He commanded us.
(1 John 3:23).

It is obvious that faith in the name of Christ and faith in Christ are one and the same. It is also obvious that faith in Christ includes everything that Christ requires of us.

A careful study of John 3:36 shows that faith in the Son includes obedience to the Son.

« Not a believer"in this verse this is a translation of the participle in the form of the nominative case, singular, masculine apeithon(initial form - apeitheo), which means “unpersuaded; difficile"; "disobedient"; "to give up faith and obedience."

For this reason, in other translations of the New Testament we find such options as “not subject to the Son”; “whoever does not submit to the Son”; “Whoever disobeys the Son”; “whoever does not obey the Son.”

It remains only to note that the word “ believer"at the very beginning of the verse it is pisteuo"believe; believe"; "to place trust"

All this means is that refusal to obey the Son is tantamount to unbelief. This proves that faith in Jesus Christ includes fulfilling the requirements (that is, the commandments) that He puts forward.

In order for a person to believe in Christ, he must trust God, repent of his sins, confess faith in Christ as the Son of God and be baptized into Him:

3 Do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.
(Rom 6:3-4).
