For the rest of his life, a person is busy freeing the body from substances that have become unnecessary for it. Alas, it sounds rude, but this is how we are designed by nature. It’s interesting that even in such a specific area there are those who want to make fun of them.

The history of toilet paper

As you know, the Chinese were the first to invent toilet paper. But it was very expensive because it consisted of square “leaves” of silk. Only rich people used such “paper”. Poor people used dried grass. In Ancient Rhythm it was replaced by tow.

The first real toilet paper appeared in 1857 in New York. It was invented by the American J. Gayetti. His company sold every thousand sheets of paper cut into napkins for one dollar. In Europe, toilet paper began to be sold only in 1880. England became the “discoverer”. But English toilet paper was not yet in rolls, as is customary now, but cut into sheets and sold in cardboard boxes. But the rolls we are familiar with appeared for the first time in England. True, this happened much later. This invention glorified the Englishman W. Alcock. However, since in this prim country even the mention of visiting the toilet was considered indecent, the rolls were called “Famous Curlers.” This is somewhat reminiscent of the story of the compromise in public pronunciation of “Product Number Two” in the USSR.

If anyone remembers, in the USSR even toilet paper was in short supply. If they found it on sale, they bought it in dozens of rolls, strung it on a rope and hung this “necklace” around their neck, since their hands were busy with bags and string bags.

Toilet paper printer

Meticulous statistics buffs have calculated that on average a person visits the toilet five times a day. The average duration of stay in it is five minutes (plus or minus two to three minutes). Someone may linger reading a newspaper or a book, solving a crossword puzzle in a thick collection specially placed next to the toilet.

Even at the beginning of the twentieth century, for such cases, the idea was expressed that a clean roll of paper was a luxury. It is necessary, they say, to print something on it. For fun or for advertising purposes.

The first to think of this were people who were very far from printing. But it all came down to the fact that the toilet paper was too thin. It tore even with fairly slow flat printing. It was possible to print on relatively thick paper in small batches.

The solution was found by the German Mario Lukas, who is interested in constructing various homemade products. He realized that commercial printers were not suitable for printing on toilet paper. For this reason, in 2011, he assembled a printer at home from old computers and printers, the printing speed of which can be adjusted. The only drawback is that you have to roll the paper back into a roll by hand.

Now the niche of printing on toilet paper is quite busy. Some companies even specialized in this. The most popular product is rolls of money stamps. In second place are rolls of jokes. On the third - with various tips for housewives, gardeners, and car enthusiasts.

The printer also appeared in an industrial version. Its main purpose is news from websites. That is, a device for RSS. In appearance, the printer is similar to a system unit, only on a greatly reduced scale. It charges with one roll of paper. Printing - on demand. You can print not only news, but also various other information if you first load it into the printer’s memory. Of course, the printer is located directly in the toilet. It takes up little space there, but it clearly shows how cool the owners are.

P.S. It’s a good idea to create a home printer for toilet paper that supports devices on Android, IOS, etc., so that you can print any pictures you want, without leaving the cash register, so to speak))). I can already imagine what will happen to photos of people we don’t like very much.... Toilet paper printer Android, IOS

It would seem that what could be simpler and more constant than toilet paper? The raw materials have not changed for decades, as well as the shape and dimensions of the roll, the perforation separating the sheets, the sleeve and winding - some are dense, some are loose. But in our time, even here we have found a place for creativity. Fragrances, various embossing options, perforation of the entire surface, a flushable sleeve and, of course, toilet paper with an image.

Toilet paper with pictures

There is black and white and color printing on paper. As a rule, various jokes and anecdotes are written on TB sheets; crosswords, interesting facts, aphorisms and even books have also been seen. In addition, there are options for children: cartoon characters, ABC, pictures. It is common to make custom-made toilet paper with images.
Such an unusual product is not intended for mass production and sale in the hardware departments of stores and chain supermarkets. This is rather a souvenir product, so you can see it in souvenir shops.

Image on toilet paper: how it is applied

Printing is done using digital technology, using ultraviolet drying, which allows the paint to quickly dry on paper.
They print not on small rolls, but on large blanks, before cutting.

Printed toilet paper: is it harmful?

When printing on toilet paper, paint is used without adding harmful substances (volatile solvents, metal particles, etc.). Despite this, it is not recommended to constantly use it in everyday life, because paint is some kind of chemical.

N.F.: I never thought that I would publish such an idea. But since recently I was sent two ideas on this topic at once, I simply could not pass it by.

Option 1

Today I came up with one of the ideas for running my own small business. I haven't done the math yet, but if you do it wisely it will be quite profitable.

So, this trivial idea is the production of toilet paper. But with a small feature - with the images of famous people on it or on order. Imagine the psychological release effect of a person who will use this paper for the necessary purposes with an image of, for example, his “favorite” boss.

In perspective - an image of some events and scenes of life. Here you need one thing: FANTASY + INFINITY.

The idea is being submitted for general discussion, I will be glad to read comments.

Option 2

First you need to find high-quality and at the same time inexpensive toilet paper, buy a certain amount (this is possible), come up with something funny or, at least, something that can attract attention in such an important process as lightening the body, this it already depends on what the people want.

Here you need a computer to produce the final drawing or text and record it on some medium. With a disk in your hand, money in your pocket and toilet paper on your back, you go to the printing house to print this very picture (text) on your product...

This, of course, does not apply to those who have their own printing house in the garage or who can use it “at a friend’s place.”

I haven’t done any calculations yet, but I think something might work out.

Of course, it will be possible to put advertising on paper, assuring the advertiser that at least once a day this or that person will see this advertisement at least once, for at least a couple of seconds. But in this case, it will be necessary to rip off more from the advertiser in order to sell the paper much cheaper...

Please comment on the idea, I'm very interested.

P.S. In response to the doubts of pessimists, I can say one thing: in the States such a service already exists. Want to check it out? Go to Google, type: “custom printed toilet paper” and you will see...
