If the soil on the site is clay or there are its impurities, there is no need to concrete the holes. Such soil has the property of heaving, which can lead to the appearance of cracks in concrete in the winter season. Sandy or loamy soil should be concreted when installing pillars.
After installing the tension supports, connect them to other posts using bolts and metal angles using a welding machine.
When installing only intermediate supports used as load-bearing structures, the mesh will be taut. But the fence will not be very reliable - for the reason that the sheathed lower part can be easily lifted, which makes it possible for illegal entry into the territory, both by nimble children and thieves. To make the fence more reliable, pass 3 mm wire through the mesh cells in three horizontal directions. To tighten, make three holes in each support with a drill - they should be through.
We fix the mesh on the supports. We place the roll of mesh in a vertical position against the support and check that the folded ends are at the top. We attach the top section of the mesh to the top of the support and move to the next one, slowly unwinding the mesh. The wire should be passed through the mesh between the supports and its ends inserted into the existing holes. The wire rod is tensioned and secured with bolts.

A picket fence is a ventilated fence consisting of wooden planks. The construction of a picket fence begins with the installation of metal supports (pipes with a diameter of 60 mm are needed).

Having concreted the holes, design the logs. Weld the cross-sections to the core elements, placing them overlapping, and remove excess welding.

The next step is installing the gate and fittings. Cover the end part of the pipes with plastic plugs to protect the supporting elements from moisture getting into them and to prevent rust. Using self-tapping screws, secure the wooden planks to the cross-sections at a distance of 3 cm.

If the soil is loamy, there is no need to strengthen the supports. Make holes in the places where the pillars are placed with a drill and hammer the pillars in with a sledgehammer. If the soil is sandy or black soil, first make holes with a depth twice the diameter of the supports. Cover the bottom with crushed stone (a layer of about 10 cm) and compact it. Foundation

The choice of foundation depends on what material the fence will be made of.

Important! Brick and wood fencing needs a solid foundation. If you fill it correctly and correctly install the supporting elements, the fence will last for many years.

To design fences, two main types of foundation are used:

tape;
columnar.

Tape-type bases are designed in the following situations:

when constructing bulky fences;
if the work is carried out on heaving soils;
when you need to design a massive solid fence that serves as an obstacle even for animals.

In order to build a strip foundation, you first need to dig a trench: its depth is 30-80 cm and even more if the soil is unreliable. After this, a sand and gravel cushion is prepared, the foundation is filled with water and tied with reinforcement.

The next step is erecting the formwork and pouring it with concrete.

The post base is great for lightweight fencing. A properly designed pillar foundation can last no less than a strip foundation.

Stages of pouring a pillar base:

Using a drill, we drill holes 1-1.5 m deep and 15-30 cm larger in diameter than the supports.
We make a sand cushion (you can add crushed stone), a layer of 20 cm and fill it with water.
We install the supports evenly and fill the recesses with cement.
We install spans.

The fence at the dacha should not only be reliable, but also presentable in appearance, even if the economy class option is chosen. After all, owners of summer cottages spend a lot of time in their gardens, and any owner would like the fence to be pleasing to the eye.

A garden version of a decorative fence in a private house, assembled on your own. And the more leftover paint is used in this option, the brighter the garden itself will look. Boards can also be selected from pallets to create a simple decorative element.

Worth noticing! Such a garden fence is also an impromptu bird feeder and waterer. Very original and inexpensive.

Brick, cement and glass. American new. The materials are not cheap and readily available, but it looks great. Unfortunately, such a design most likely will not last very long due to the intense interest. There will be someone who cannot repeat this.

Copper or other metal at work. Of course, the element is not for everyone. And there is a lot of welding work. But if you make it, for example, from iron beds from past eras, it will be original, free and forever.

Plastic. Even greenhouses have been made from containers for a long time. And they don’t forget about fences. It is advisable, of course, to make small pieces of flat material from empty containers, which are then used to cover buildings or fences. But the above method will work, just prepare a strong frame in advance.

Euro pallet. Suitable for everything: firewood, building a shed and a fence. Interestingly, the technology for creating the pallets themselves has a drying stage. It turns out that pallets from a warehouse are an ideal building material for an inexpensive fence. And often unloading pallets are sold simply by weight. There should be no knots or defects on small boards.

There is no need to disassemble the pallets to build the fence. The most correct thing to do is as in the photo above - set and secure each of them in turn.

Branches, tree and croaker

It couldn’t be simpler - they insert or hammer in something for support, and then weave it the way your heart desires. Everything that lies under our feet goes to work. Even dry, crooked and heavy oak branches can be the completion of the composition.

Below is a photo of a fence. From a thin branch Such a design, of course, is not particularly durable. But you can secure a ready-made homemade fence with a mesh over the entire area.

Like this (next photo) it is much stronger, more economical and more beautiful. Livestock, forest pests or abandoned dogs will not disturb your territorial space. Moreover, the mesh can be installed not very finely, and it is enough to be one meter from the ground. Above this, such protection is no longer needed.

Mesh combined with wooden frame made using the correct technology (cone-shaped wood, pillars treated with bitumen). Modest, not particularly expensive and reliable. There is no point in sinning with wood, because a fence made of absolutely any material will not last forever. And even monolithic structures are destroyed by atmospheric changes.

Carved grace. This is a small work of art. Although earlier, when most of the population of our country lived on private lands, there were carved elements in every yard. This had several meanings: wealth, neatness, skill and respect for tradition.

By the way, the “fence board” comes in several grades (grade 1-3). If there is a lot of crooked wood at the sawmill, then grade 3 fence boards will accumulate in cubic meters. Externally, of course, there are differences, but this is the same wood that is used in construction. There is more hassle with her, but for such a low price it is forgiven. And if the 1st grade costs from 3 thousand per 1 cubic meter, the 3rd grade will cost 1.5-1.8.

It’s also interesting that cheap lumber is not bought quickly, so it’s easy to find dried, inexpensive fence boards in warehouses or yards.

Original wood processing

Using Japanese technology now you can burn fence boards, giving a brown tint. Such processing for natural material is necessary only once. Moreover, a thin layer of burnt wood is resistant to dampness, and natural processing can only be replaced with expensive paint, the service life of which leaves much to be desired. Burning several dozen boards with oxygen or a blowtorch is convenient, practical and original.

Slate, corrugated sheets, concrete and mesh

If you take on new slate, it would be better to order the flat version, designed for 1 span. Such material is easy to replace if it breaks, and it looks discreet, thorough, and more solid.

Used slate often with a wave. It is rarely used on the front part, except for visors. However, the back side of the site, closed from the eyes of everyone and everything, also needs fencing. This is where they find a use for the old slate from their grandfather’s house or barn.

Interesting fact! Slate, produced in the 70-80s of the 20th century, is very fragile, but durable. If no cracks are created during transportation and installation, then it will remain in the fence for decades.

Classic rules for working with your own hands on corrugated sheets and metal frames. As shown in the figure, for a high fence (above 2 meters) it is more correct to make 3 logs. Well, the span is no more than 2.5 meters.

Patterned grids. Long and painstaking work. Must be carried out according to a project or pattern. Of course, you will have to work hard, but you can sell such works. Or hire a designer if there is interest in your ideas.

Cheap, beautiful and original. You can use everything in decorative elements: from forks to car hubs. And it doesn’t matter how it all will look in the overall picture, because different elements made of iron or other material cannot be assembled unattractively into one structure.

Profiled sheet or corrugated sheet on a wooden frame. An option for those who do not have welding skills. It is better to make the frame itself more stable, although sheets placed horizontally will give the necessary rigidity. It is advisable to treat wood with drying oil-based protective agents.

Concrete or brick fences. There are a lot of shades, decorative elements and, accordingly, costs. It is more profitable to make only the base from stone, placing it in the center of each span wood, forging, sheets of flooring or even factory plastic.

Fences made of stone, brick and decorative components cost twice as much as fences made of mesh or wood.

It’s easy to guess that it’s most profitable to do what you’ve planned with your own hands, using the same Euro pallet or used pallet. After all, with high-quality installation, they look much more original. The price of the work is cheap; the material itself can be ordered from 100 rubles per piece. 1 element is a whole meter of almost assembled fence.
