Today the world is simply oversaturated with ideal things. People try to have an ideal weight, appearance, clothes, home, family, etc. But, to be completely frank, each of us pays much more attention to what does not fit into generally accepted standards, to deviations from norms and contrasts.
So, on the basis of this judgment, a very strange modeling agency arose - Ugly Models Agency with its main office in London. As with regular agencies, there are very strict selection criteria. A person who wants to join the ranks of “models” must be, to put it mildly, unusual in appearance. And it doesn’t matter at all how old he is or what size clothes he wears.
Dell, currently the leading model at the Ugly Agency, got into this business completely by accident several years ago. On that fateful day for him, Dell was simply delivering some kind of package to this company. The owner of the agency, Mark, immediately drew attention to him and asked to take some test shots with him. And everything started spinning and spinning! Dell is not your average nice guy. His teeth protrude and his ears stick out. In general, many will call it ugly. But he is amazing in his own way, and he knows how to attract attention. Personally, I adore his appearance,” says Mark. “I don’t consider myself a freak and see myself as a tall, handsome brunette. I’m a model, aren’t I? When I was growing up, I couldn’t even imagine that I would ever become a model. People always laughing at me and stuff...,” Dell recalls. 
Today, the popularity of the agency and its models has increased greatly. They even made a documentary about them called “Britain’s Ugliest Models”.
“I would really like to. so that all people who come to us feel comfortable and confident in their own body. Each person is unique in his own way. I never know what I'm looking for. I just see a person and understand that this is what I need,” says Mark. “Our models have worked with Calvin Klein and for Italian Vogue. There is a huge demand for them. When we do castings, there are lines a mile long."

As for me, I’m not a designer and I don’t see absolutely any difference between what was and what has become. Moreover, my wife is a designer, and she doesn’t see the difference either. This is probably like trying to understand why a design made by the Lebedev Studio, at first glance, which was done in a couple of minutes, is so highly valued and even corporate gods flock to Tema for fashionable design.
For me, the main thing is that Vkontakte still has music and videos, that the network is a full-fledged alternative to YouTube and Yandex Music. Everything else regarding the social network is nonsense and talk about nothing.

Yes, there are times when your image is not enough. I had a case when I entered the subway... and no one paid attention to me. I felt annoyed. I took off my glasses, hung them on the handrail and walked out. I would like to believe that they went to someone as charismatic as me.
Do you feel more like an informal person, a freak, a model or a person with unusual thinking?
Today I am a DJ.

Are you always in character? Say, to go to the grocery store, do you dress up?
I admire people who constantly step out of their apartment in character. And I try to do this myself. But sometimes you're just lazy. And at some moments I make an effort to dress up and go about my business.
How do you create your images? How are they born?
I use everything I have at hand that inspires me. These are most often collective images: this thing fits well, these gloves look great, these leggings are cool - just go out, go, and it will, in my opinion, be beautiful.
Are you targeting someone? Are you inspired?
On many. My most recent influence was Brooke Candy, a singer and stripper. She's been singing for a long time. In the last video I saw of her, Lady Gaga's stylist created her look. And what he couldn't do for Gaga, he did for Brooke. This is a very aggressive serve. This is very close to me. Undoubtedly, these are McQueen or John Galliano shows. Such images always uncompromisingly surprise and delight.
Is it difficult for you to surprise?
No. I’m even surprised at my rubber slippers. This is a cool thing. I bought them specifically for the performance at a theater store. I think it's chic.
In your opinion, what is currently missing in the Russian fashion industry?
On a national scale, there is not enough government support for this. It is not right when people develop fashion on their own, based on enthusiasm alone, and try to grow the fashion industry with their little money. It is clear that everything is moving slowly. But for this to be more global, the state must take part in this.
Those things that have gone far into your wardrobe, what do you do with them?
This rarely happens to me. More often than not, the item fails. It degrades to the point that it is difficult to use. It happens that from the things that I have, I start to sew one outfit. Or it happens that I leave for a long period of time. I haven't been in the apartment for a year or two. And I forget about things, then I come, and it turns out I have a lot of everything.
What might be unacceptable for you in an image?
Everything is acceptable. Except boredom.
Remember how much criticism Gaga's outfit got when she was wearing meat? Is this acceptable for you?
But it drew attention to contemporary art and attitudes to certain problems. I was looking at my friend's FaceBook feed. One piece of news: they want to equate meat-eating with murder and violence, several posts later: it has been proven that vegetarianism is a separate type of schizophrenia. And this, you know, is strange. The topic itself looks like schizophrenia. But the fact that media people raise social problems with their behavior and appearance makes sense.
How do you walk in heels? Not all girls can even do this .
I have never seen a difference between women and men wearing heels. This is an experience and a comfortable last.
What is the length of the highest heels you have ever worn?
(started measuring)… How much is this?… 18cm.
How did you decide to start DJing?
I just play my favorite music for someone. They call me and offer me to play a set of their favorite music. I've been playing like this for quite a long time. I record 2 hours of music and then play it in different order. At the same time, I don’t focus on people - what they like. If they call me, I will focus on myself. If I play music I don't like to please someone, it will be a total failure. Better, I'll play music that I like, and then I'll at least be honest with myself.
What are your musical preferences?
Viva la Fete, Miss Kittin, Organic Lady, The Chemical Brothers.
Are you going to develop in this direction?
It suits me when they call me once a month or once every six months. I’ve been doing this for 8 years. Someone invited me and found out that I could do it. And driving all the time... it's not for me. I dress up, create images and live by it, and music is an emotion.
This is not your first time in Yekaterinburg. Have you seen any extraordinary, interesting people here?
Yes, you had a fashionable multi-brand store. We came here with Lesha Kiselev. Lesha had an exhibition, and I took part in the show. In this regard, Ekaterinburg is a strong city. There are many people from here who now live in Moscow. There is even a “Joburg crowd”. There are people who occupy a cool position, have a great reputation, work and are opinion leaders. Perhaps this is a great pride for the city.
