Then sand and any plants are placed inside the flask. In the same way, you can decorate the product in a marine style by pouring sand inside and adding a few.

How to surprise your loved one on Valentine's Day?

“Lamp of Love” is an ideal gift for Valentine's Day, both for your beloved and for your loved one. Among its advantages, the following should be highlighted:

  • easy to manufacture;
  • if necessary, it can be quickly packed;
  • symbolic.

To make a light bulb as a gift, you will need:

  • lamp;
  • paints;
  • brush;
  • Styrofoam;
  • glue;
  • sheet of cardboard;
  • wire.

First of all, you need to remove the insides. However, in this matter you should be extremely careful - one awkward movement, and the glass may burst before the preparation process is successfully completed.

First you need to cut the round contact on the base. Next, slightly widening the hole, all the insides are removed from it. First, before starting work on the decor, the device should be washed and made sure there are no chips.

The next step is to work on the heart. To make it you will need cardboard. The heart should be of such a size that it fits freely into the lamp.

For work, you can take either ordinary white cardboard, painting it with scarlet paint, or colored one. In this case, additional staining will not be required.

A wire is attached to one side of the heart, and a small loop is attached to the end of it. The wire with the heart will serve as a kind of filament.

There are many ways to make a gift from a light bulb for a loved one, in particular, a heart itself.

In one of the options, the manufacturing technology involves using wire not only to secure the figure, but also to create it. In this way you can easily make not just one heart, but several.

The last stage of work on the gift for February 14 is securing the balloon. This must be done extremely carefully so as not to break it. Moment glue is used for fastening.

Don't know what to do with a burnt out lamp? Don’t rush to throw it away, you have in your hands a future masterpiece that will delight your guests and make them envy.

A burnt-out light bulb is a seemingly absolutely useless item, destined for the trash bin. But don’t rush to take this step - in the hands of needlewomen, a light bulb turns into unrecognizable crafts worthy of decorating a luxurious interior. Be inspired by the proposed ideas and try to repeat at least the simplest of them. You will definitely succeed! So, what can you make from a light bulb with your own hands, and where can this craft be used in the home?

Decor and Christmas tree decorations – you can prepare for the New Year all year round

Light bulbs make incomparable Christmas tree decorations, in which it is difficult to recognize obsolete lighting fixtures. To begin with, the lamp is covered with a continuous layer of acrylic paint, and only then various painting techniques are used, decorating with small buttons, sequins and sparkles.

Finished toys are decorated with knitted “clothes”, completing the image of the chosen character. If the cap will serve as a loop, then it is glued to the base. For details on how to make a penguin from a light bulb, watch the video:

Using the same technique, you can make a toy out of a light bulb for decoration. For example, turn lamps into pears or avocados, funny clowns and baby dolls. Just remember about the fragility of the products, do not give them to children and keep them out of reach.

Home decor and gifts

The shape of the light bulb lends itself to being beautifully decorated. Various types of needlework are suitable for this. The easiest way is to beautifully wrap the base with rope. If you know how to knit, then crochet the shape.

You can make very attractive crafts by covering a lamp with pasta and painting it. An equally impressive decor awaits you if you try to make one out of a lamp.

Aquariums and florariums are a breathtaking sight

These crafts are somewhat more complicated, because the light bulb, before placing the decor inside, will have to be disassembled and freed from its internal contents. However, the result is worth it! Look at the photo to see what you can make from a light bulb if you are not too lazy.

If you don’t yet risk working in a real aquarium, try decorating your home with such a miniature pond. Of course, living creatures cannot be placed in such a container, but nothing prevents you from creating a composition of stones, artificial greenery and silicone fishing bait.

Creating is a very exciting activity, but it is doubly exciting if you create mini-gardens in light bulbs. Miniature succulents thrive in such conditions. But if you don’t want to bother yourself with care at all, buy artificial plants - now there are some that are difficult to distinguish from real ones.

Video instructions for creating a mini-kindergarten:

Light bulb decor can be used not only at home, but also in the garden. If you paint the lamps with fluorescent paint, they will again turn into light sources and will glow in the dark, gaining light during the day. From several lamps you can create a garland or a composition in the form of a luxurious chandelier.

If you like to give a second life to unnecessary things, take a look at our section, perhaps you will be inspired for new creative exploits.

Old incandescent light bulbs are disappearing from our homes as they burn out. Sooner or later, everything will be replaced with modern, economical LED lamps. Old used light bulbs can be given new life in other useful things. The following describes and shows how this can be done.

If you have old light bulbs lying around, you might want to make something cool out of them.

There are many things you can do.

Here, we will look at 5 such things.

Step 1: Remove the contents of the old incandescent lamp bulb

Please wear gloves and safety glasses!

Glass can fly off in any direction

I don't wear gloves all the time like I have done many times before.

Use a utility knife to separate the black glass contact.

Most times you can remove it with just a knife, but sometimes you may need to use pliers.

Step 2: Remove the black glass from the old lamp base

Insert a small flathead screwdriver into the center and twist until the black glass breaks.

Step 3: Break out the contents of the lamp

Use pliers to break off tubes

Step 4: Use a thin screwdriver to break the rod

Use a small flathead screwdriver to break the stem.

You need to break it by turning it with a screwdriver in different places, pressing.

If necessary, use a stronger screwdriver.

Step 5: Enlarge the hole in the base

To make a larger hole, use a screwdriver carefully and without pressing hard along the edges of the hole in the metal lamp base.

Rinse the lamp bulb before use.

Step 6: Staple Storage

Simply pour paper clips into the prepared llama flask.

The weight of the paper clips will hold the light bulb upright.

When paper clips are not required, simply shake the light bulb.

Step 7: Lamp Flower Vase

You need to find a round stand for the flask of the appropriate size and the vase is ready!

Step 8: Solar Lamp

Using a solar-powered garden lamp, you can give the lamp a bright second life. She will be a lighting fixture again!

To do this, you can use lamps whose base has only been opened. There is no need to remove the contents of the lamp. The lamp will look more natural.

Step 9: Solar Lamp, hanging.

You need to glue a rope with hot glue, and use it to glue the base of the garden lamp to the base. And everything is ready. If it is not clear, look at the pictures.

The light bulb must be positioned so that its solar panel receives light during the day. Then at night it will turn into a wonderful night light.

It will look as if a real light bulb is glowing.

Step 10: Kerosene Lamp from an old light bulb.

Glue or attach a washer to the top of the hole.

I used high temperature sealant.

This is to withstand temperatures up to 1000°C

There are also high temperature adhesives commercially available. They will do too.

Check your local hardware store.

Step 11: Fill with fuel.

We make a wick from linen or cotton rope.

Fill the flasks with fuel (you can use almost any oil or kerosene; liquid paraffins are suitable).

Insert the wick and let it soak into the fuel before lighting it.

We put it on a stand and set it on fire.

Never leave such a lamp unattended.

Step 12: Light Bulb Corkscrew

Disassemble the old corkscrew and insert a screw at the bottom to better hold it.

Step 13: Light Bulb Corkscrew

Fill the ball with plastic balls (semi-finished product for plastic products) and bake in the oven.

Use some kind of cup to hold the flask upright.

As it melts, you need to add more plastic until the flask is completely filled. Sticking everything in the oven while it's needed.

Step 14: Light Bulb Corkscrew

Insert the corkscrew screw and hold it until the plastic cools.

When the flask is cool enough to hold in your hand, cool it under cold running water.

Do not do this with hot light bulbs or glass that may break.

Step 15: Light Bulb Corkscrew

When it cools down, break the glass.

Enjoy the corkscrew light bulb.

Creative and inventive people know what can be done from old, burnt out light bulbs. They turn them into practical little things for the home using their convenient spherical shape. Let's look at a few simple ideas on how you can make an interesting and beautiful decoration for your home from a seemingly unnecessary thing.

Cute vase made from an old light bulb

You can make very beautiful miniature flower vases from old burnt out light sources:

  • First you need to disassemble the light bulb. To do this, take a screwdriver, pliers or a pocket knife and use them to remove all the elements - the insulator, the contact and the glass tube inside.

Important! In principle, disassembling the light bulb should not cause you any particular difficulties, but you need to work extremely carefully, since sudden and careless actions can irrevocably damage the glass shade.

  • A light bulb disassembled and rid of its insides is a ready-made vase. You can make a tabletop version on a stand, or a hanging one on a wire, a terrarium from moss, aerophytes or succulents.

Such vases will become an original decoration for the garden and home.

Light bulb lamp

To create such a craft from light bulbs with your own hands, like a lamp, you will have to stock up on the following:

  1. Twenty burnt out copies.
  2. One working light source.
  3. Braid and cord.
  4. Cartridge.
  5. Scissors.
  6. Felt pen.
  7. Glue or Velcro.

The manufacturing sequence of the lamp is as follows:

  • Place five light bulbs to form an isosceles pentagon.
  • In the places where they touch each other, mark them with a felt-tip pen.
  • At the resulting points, glue the light bulbs using glue or round Velcro.
  • Continuing in exactly the same way, glue all the burnt-out light sources together so that you end up with a ball.

Important! In the same way, you can create any other shape, for example, a cube.

  • Insert a working light source in the socket into the center of the resulting lampshade.

Important! There is another way to make a lamp - a simpler one. Just hang a lot of burnt out ones on a fishing line or rope around a working light bulb.

Mini terrarium

You can even create a miniature terrarium in an old, burnt-out incandescent lamp. For this:

  • Place the flask, freed from internal parts, on four silicone self-adhesive supports.
  • Fill the bottom with sand or fine gravel (the sand can be colored and laid in layers.

Important! The easiest way to pour sand is to use a straw.

  • Place a small amount of soil on top of the sand, pre-mixed with long-acting fertilizers.
  • Now use tweezers to plant the plants.

Important! For such a mini-terrarium, various types of moss and succulents that do not stretch in height are suitable.

Christmas tree decoration

Christmas tree decorations made from old burnt-out incandescent lamps look very beautiful and original. In addition, you can involve your children in the process of making them - they will definitely enjoy this activity:

  • Make a cute little cap of your choice to disguise the metal base of the light source.
  • Secure the cap to the light bulb with a glue gun.

Important! Alternatively, you can use rope, tinsel or ribbons.

  • Decorate the light bulb to your taste: you can draw a cute face of some animal or cute Santa Claus on it, or cover it with beads, sparkles or artificial snow.
