Organizing summer holidays for children and teenagers is a traditional activity of libraries. In the summer, the main task of all libraries is to provide meaningful recreation to as many schoolchildren as possible, broaden their horizons, teach creativity, communication, respect for nature, and instill a love of books.
Libraries cooperate with schools, kindergartens, work and recreation camps, and sports camps to organize summer vacations.
How to fill the free time of children and teenagers? How to make them interested in books this summer? These issues are aimed at solvingsummer programs . They include:

Individual events are being replaced by comprehensive and specialized summer programs, which reflect the diversity of thematic areas of work and are compiled taking into account the specifics of various age categories, which increases the interest of children in all ongoing events. The results are summed up at a general library festival, where the winners of the summer readings will be awarded.
Moral and aesthetic education, instilling an interest in reading
Organizing children's leisure time, attracting them to reading, broadening their horizons and developing children's aesthetic perception of the world around them have always been priorities in the work of libraries in the summer.

This year, 22 libraries took part in the program. They invited young Izhevsk residents under 14 years old to spend their leisure time with benefit and interest during the summer holidays. The subject matter in each library was determined in accordance with criteria such as relevance, diversity and relevance.

The children were attracted to the M. Gorky Central Children's Library by the intellectual and sports game “Tricks of Vukuzyo”. Mythological characters Vukuzyo and Inmar asked the children questions about their knowledge of Udmurt mythology, and asked riddles about animals and birds. All libraries had a schedule for the week - on certain days children would draw on a given topic, make crafts or compose.
Library No. 20 hosted a master class on creating “environmentally friendly” crafts from recycled materials called “Nine Lives of One Thing.”
All summer in the library. Yu. Gagarin hosted an eco-workshop “100 ideas from unnecessary things”. The children made voluminous balls from paper, kusudama flowers, made bookmarks (scrapbooking), made keychains from buttons, and made funny clothespins.
All July in the library. L.N. Tolstoy operated a doll workshop, where one could learn to make dolls from various materials (clay, candy wrappers, herbs, sticks, fabric) and play with them. In the summer, children not only rested, played and read. Young librarian assistants took part in planting flower beds, caring for flowers, repairing dilapidated books, processing new literature, and dusting library collections.

The oral journal is conducted as a game program. Each page of the magazine is a specific color. On the green page we will visit a green friend - the forest. While answering questions, the guys remember animals, plants and other inhabitants of the forest and complete the video task.
On the blue page of the magazine we are talking about a good friend and helper of people - water. Here are cards with questions, riddles and crosswords about water and natural phenomena. The red page of the magazine talks, of course, about the Red Book and about the animals and plants of our region listed in the Red Book, about the Kerzhensky Nature Reserve and other reserves. The Yellow Page is dedicated to the amazing creatures of nature - birds. Many writers and poets have works dedicated to feathered friends. The guys remember fairy tales and poems where the main character is a bird. The pages of the magazine allow you to show nature as a source of countless mysteries and secrets, and develop cognitive interest in nature.
HEALING LUKOSHKO - ecological hour
Goal: development of cognitive interests, broadening horizons, formation of environmental knowledge.
August is the time for the harvest to begin. Vegetables are always an integral part of our table, but not everyone knows that they are not only tasty, but healthy, and even have healing properties. At the ecological hour “Healing Basket”, the children re-acquaint themselves with seemingly well-known ones: potatoes, carrots, pumpkin, cabbage, etc. And also about how vegetables were and are used in folk medicine, the history of their appearance and spread in Russia . During the event, the guys share their taste preferences and remember recipes for preparing various dishes from vegetables.
