Therefore, there are special steps on the sides of the bumper to facilitate access to the open body. Inside the latter there are protective brackets with additional LED lighting.
The interior of the Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck is very bright and cozy. The driver is seated in a very wide seat, and in front of him is an equally wide steering wheel with a harmonious instrument panel behind. The center console has very large buttons that are simply impossible not to hit, and its “top” is equipped with an 8-inch MyLink touch display with Apple Car Play. We are pleased with the excellent sound insulation and the huge amount of space for rear passengers. By the way, if desired, the owner can buy a two-door version of the pickup truck and equip it with a premium audio system from Bose.
Under the hood is a real highlight in the form of a small 2.8-liter turbodiesel with 185 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The power plant will be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, distributing all torque to 4 drive wheels. Unfortunately, the company did not provide more detailed technical characteristics of this power unit, but made a statement that it will be the most economical in its class. The Chevrolet Colorado received an exhaust brake, as well as assistance systems for towing a trailer with a load that can weigh up to 7,500 kg. At the same time, the pickup does not lose its maneuverability, the responsiveness of the electric power steering wheel and receives front shock absorbers tuned for a heavier engine.
Officially, the 2016 Chevrolet Colorado Diesel is unlikely to hit the Russian market, but in the US it can be purchased for $40,000.

The second generation of the car has only 2 power units in its lineup, and they are both diesel. The first engine, which has a volume of 2.5 liters, is simply diesel, and the other engine is already equipped with a turbocharger, thanks to which it produces 180 horsepower. These power units are paired with either the same 5-speed or a new 6-speed for this car. At the same time, the car really does not consume much fuel for its class; it is 12 liters during a mixed driving cycle. But we all understand that this consumption will be a little more than what the manufacturer claims.
The car is stopped using a full disc brake system, the front ones of which are ventilated. The suspension of the model is really comfortable and at the same time it performs well off-road. At the front we have an independent suspension mounted on springs, and at the rear there is a dependent suspension on leaf springs.
Interior
What can you say about the salon? It is made modernly and with high quality as it should be. In terms of functionality, it is also acceptable; of course, it does not have anything beyond amazing and technologically advanced, but the main thing is that it has everything that is necessary for an ordinary driver. Therefore, off-road everything will be just fine in it and in the city you will also feel comfortable, fuel consumption will upset you since it is a large car, but this is already a complaint about the power unit.
The steering wheel is 4-spoke and has controls, an interesting instrument panel on which a monitor is installed, which displays the necessary information. On the center console of the Chevrolet Colorado 2018 there is a multimedia system with a touch screen, there are also climate control selectors and niches for small items, that’s all the most necessary things and nothing superfluous. Near the gearbox selector there are two cup holders that are quite deep and therefore anything you put there is unlikely to fall out. The only drawback of the interior is that the rear seats are not particularly spacious; there really is not enough space in them and therefore passengers in the back will not be able to ride for a long time.
In general, we can only sum up one thing about this car: it’s built really well and drives well, and it consumes a lot of fuel, but the car is large in size and for such a size this is normal. If you need a pickup truck that can go off-road if necessary, but at the same time it should be powerful and comfortable in the cabin. Most likely, Colorado will suit you, and then the choice is yours.

There is no doubt that the real king of off-road vehicles has appeared before the eyes of the public. This is evidenced by its huge ground clearance, original bumpers, additional protection made of durable aluminum, a huge radiator grille for cooling the powerful engine and transfer case.
