You have probably been amazed more than once by the performances of famous illusionists who make monuments disappear, objects fly, and objects appear out of nowhere. You may have a childhood impression of a magician with a rabbit in an empty top hat. And, of course, everyone who has seen all of the above would probably like to learn how to perform at least a small miracle! Especially for such people, I wrote this article, in which I will reveal to the readers of MirSovetov several secrets of popular and at the same time simple tricks, some of them are performed through sleight of hand, and some with the help of simple props.
Rules of a real magician
Before you begin studying the material below, be sure to read these rules, they will greatly help you in your presentations.- Never reveal the secret of a trick. Perhaps the most important rule, since the viewer will immediately lose interest in you as a magician. The viewer can give his guesses, assumptions, or say specifically what the secret is, but you should not enter into an argument with the viewer, but show that this is just his opinion.
- Rehearse each trick carefully until it works ten out of ten times. A mirror will also be a very good helper for you; try to show yourself several times, think over the words, speech and gestures with which you will present the entire action.
- Never say what will happen next. The viewer can guess where to look and what to follow. And for the same reason, never repeat the same trick twice, even if you are very much asked.
These rules are the code of any professional magician. In particular, due to the first price, professional props cost a significant amount of money, since the secret (intellectual property) provides greater value. Only by following all three rules will you achieve the desired effect and remain a real magician for the viewer.Most card tricks have two parts: the spectator chooses a card, and then the magician performs some kind of magic on his card.
To begin, let the spectator take any card in the deck, remember it, and show it to other spectators, if there are any. The spectator then returns the card to the deck. The easiest way to find the spectator's card is the key card (the card that lies next to the one the spectator has chosen). I use a simple trick to find out the key card: I remove the deck, ask the spectator to put the card down and cover the card with a pile with the card I saw.
The deck can be slightly shuffled demonstratively and asked the spectator, say, to remove the deck (when removing the deck, this method works 100%). Then we turn the deck facing us, with the back facing the audience, and find that the spectator has made a wish for the four of spades. 
The following steps will serve to turn a random card into a spectator card. In the professional language of magicians, this technique is called shift (glide). Place the spectator's card second from the bottom. 
We show the spectator the bottom card. The spectator says that we were mistaken, this is not his card. 
Then we turn the deck face down and pretend that we are taking out exactly this card (view from the viewer). 
We actually perform a secret move and draw the second card from the bottom. To do this, use your fingers to slightly move the bottom card back. 
Next, holding the spectator’s card (he thinks that it is not his card), we wave it slightly in the air and turn it over, the spectator sees that the other card has turned into the one he chose. 
The effect of the trick can be significantly enhanced, for example, before the final show, rub the card on the spectator’s clothes (say: “You have a magic jacket,” etc.). You can also put the card on the table, cover it with some object (deck, glass, wallet) and make a couple of magical passes, or even better, ask the viewer to cover the card with his hand, then the delight from the trick will increase significantly.
A card appears out of nowhere
This trick will require much more training than the previous one; it can be used as an independent trick or as an element for the appearance of the spectator's card. The effect is quite bright, the magician first shows an empty one, then a card appears on it out of nowhere.
The corners of the cards are a narrow rib card held between the index and middle fingers, the ring and little fingers. 
Hold the card in this way and straighten your palm completely, making sure that the corners of the cards are not noticeable at first glance. So, let's start appearing, learn to do the whole movement SLOWLY first. First of all, bend all four fingers, as shown in the picture above. Happened? Great! Now press the card with your thumb from above. 
And straighten four fingers, holding the card itself with your thumb. Voila! And the card appeared in your palm. 
“How difficult it is,” you will think, but after a week of short training you will begin to succeed. You can practice this movement even while watching TV. For this movement, there is also the opposite: we hold the card on the phalanges of 4 fingers, pressing it on top with the thumb, bend the fingers so that they are under the card, spread the little finger and index finger (as the “new Russians” do), press the corners and straighten the fingers. The card will be on the back of your hand and ready to appear.
To practice both movements, a video will help you (it is better to shoot at least with a digital camera).
Many professional magicians use a combination of appearance and disappearance. In particular, the card can be pulled out not only from the air, but, say, from behind the viewer’s ear.
Passing a rubber band through a finger
This is a very simple trick, but also based on sleight of hand. All preparation must be done quickly, but can be done without problems in front of the viewer.Initial position: stretch the elastic band over the thumb of your left hand and the thumb and index finger of your right hand.
With the bent middle finger of the left hand, we reach the top of the elastic band and pull it down. 
Next, we place the thumb of the left hand under the elastic band between the index and thumb of the right hand. 
And we pull our right hand up. 
At the same time, you will feel that middle finger The left hand was caught in a noose. This is the secret of this trick. Practice shows that if you practice, you can pull out your middle finger, eliminating the viewer’s doubt that you are holding something (see picture above). In this case, the loop itself will not unravel due to the tension of the elastic band and will look like this (bottom view): 
Next, slightly relax the rubber band (you can imitate the movement as if you were sawing your finger with a rubber band). And the rubber band goes through it. 
The effect of the trick can be enhanced by asking the spectator to hold your thumb after you make the secret loop. You can also ask the viewer to also wrap the second elastic band around his finger, and the viewer, without thinking twice and seeing the final position, will simply make a loop around his finger. Of course, the rubber band will not fit through the viewer’s finger.
Transformation of a banknote
Nothing touches the viewer's heart like money tricks. The most popular trick. This is the transformation of a banknote of one denomination into a bill of another denomination. For the trick, we need two inexpensive bills (I use toy money).
Fold both bills 8 times (I showed the fold lines with handles). I draw the attention of MirSovetov readers to the fact that first you need to fold it twice along the length of the bill, and then along the width.

Let's start the demonstration (don't forget about the second rule of the magician). We show the viewer an ordinary banknote. 
Please note that I covered the part where the second bill is hidden, since otherwise its shadow would be visible. Let's add it up:
The last gesture is to cover the entire bill with your left hand, while turning the bill over with your right hand. This is followed by the unfolding and demonstration of the second bill. 
You can use a humorous version of this trick. Let the props, say, of 50 and 10 ruble bills be in your left pocket, and 10 rubles in your right pocket. “Can any of the spectators lend me 50 rubles?” you ask the audience. Someone lends you their 50 rubles, and you defiantly put them in your left pocket. The reaction of the audience is 99% laughter. Then, after laughing it off, you take out the requisite 50 rubles and turn them into 10. You can also demonstratively put 10 rubles in your right pocket, saying that you have problems with money, and when the viewer asks for the bills back, take them out and give him the usual 10 rubles. The magician returns the card to the deck, shuffles it again, lays out the cards and accurately finds the spectator's card!
The secret of focus. Take a deck of cards and shuffle it. Attention: the key to this trick is to quietly spy which card will be the bottom, that is, the last one in the deck.
The spectator selects a card and returns it to you. Divide the deck randomly in half - you end up with two parts of cards in your hands, one of which contains the bottom card - you memorized it at the very beginning. Place the spectator's card on one part of the deck and cover it on top with the second part. The spectator sees that his card is now hidden, but you know that it lies under the very bottom card.
Lay out the cards in a fan, then look for your bottom card with your eyes - next to it on the right will be the one that the viewer wished for. Voila! At the same time, do not choose it too quickly, for example, pretend that you are trying to feel the energy emanating from the card - entertain the viewer.
A coin passes through a glass
The next simple trick is the glass and coin trick. It is more difficult than the previous one, as it requires a certain amount of manual dexterity.
From the viewer's side. The magician shows the audience a coin, takes it in the fist of one hand, and with the other brings a glass to it, then knocks the glass on the hand with the coin - and it ends up inside, going through the bottom!
In fact. Choose a large coin and a glass, plastic or glass. Show the audience the coin and then pretend to transfer it to your other hand, covering the top with your palm and appearing to grab the coin into your fist. But the coin, of course, remains in the same hand where it was.
That's what it is key moment: It is important to practice and learn how to hold a coin with an open palm or hold it between your palm and little finger, whichever is more convenient for you - the main thing is that it is held inconspicuously and does not fall out.
With the same hand in which you hold the coin, you take the glass and raise it over your hand with your fist, where the coin lies, according to the audience. Tap the glass on your fist several times. On the last knock, relax your hand so that the coin falls inside the glass, and at this moment open your palm with your fist, simulating the passage of the coin through the bottom of the glass. It is important to work this trick well so that everything works out deftly and quickly, and the audience does not have time to come to their senses and expose you.
Match trick
And finally, we'll tell you how to do tricks with matches that only require sleight of hand.
As the audience sees. The magician holds a match between the fingers of both hands. Having placed them perpendicularly, he hits the matches against each other, as a result of which one match passes through the second.
The secret of focus. Before picking up matches, wet the index finger of your right hand. After this, hold the matches between the thumb and forefinger of each hand. The key to this trick is that the right hand the match with the sulfur head touches the moistened index finger and therefore sticks to it, and if you unclench your fingers, the match will still continue to “hang”.
Turn the matches held in your fingers perpendicular to each other. Now begin to move the left match toward the right, and at the moment of their collision, unclench your fingers, passing the left match forward, and then squeeze it back. You need to learn how to do this quickly and sharply, imitating the blow of matches - then the audience will not notice the trick.

The secret of the trick for children: The fact is that objects consisting of the same material have the same charge. The piece of paper is made of a different material than the balloons and is not electrified. That is why it attracts the balloons.

The essence of the trick: The presenter invites the audience to inflate the balloon without touching it with their lips. The use of special pumps is also prohibited. The viewer naturally needs to remember these cards. After that, we will put them in the center of the deck, and mix the deck thoroughly.
Another simply gigantic advantage of this trick is that after we have removed the spectator’s cards from the deck, the spectator himself can shuffle the cards!
This is simply the greatest advantage of any trick in general. In this way, viewers are convinced that their card cannot be found in any way.
Now we will use one very interesting way finding the spectator's cards: we will leaf through the decks and remove some cards either to the center, then to the bottom of the deck, or leave them at the top.
This is such a very strange and unusual way, but it is fully working!
After this, shuffle the deck again a couple of times.
We show the viewer one card that lies at the bottom of the deck. Surely it's her! But the viewer says that this is not so! Hm strange. Okay, let's put it on the table for now.
Let's try again. And again it’s not her! How is that possible?! Let's put it on the table too.
Finally, we’ll show him the last card, in the hope that we’ll at least get it right. But that was not the case, unfortunately.
And at this moment the viewer understands that he will 100% win the dispute, because we never found his cards. Well, that's why we'll have to use the power of magic. We ask him what cards he remembered. We click our finger, turn over the cards that are on the table and... this is them!!!
This is simply a powerful blow to the viewer’s consciousness. After all, he saw how we put completely different cards on the table!
Tricks with such a “crap” effect simply blow the minds of absolutely any viewer. But the trick is also incredibly simple and anyone can repeat it. So I advise you to learn it and tomorrow you will become the most interesting person in your company!
And the trick is based on one of the simplest card techniques. It is called “shift”, in the original it is “glide”.

I strictly recommend that absolutely every card trickster learn this trick, because its effect will simply blow anyone’s mind. And if you want to win some kind of argument, and even do it gracefully, then this is an even greater reason to learn and train it.
Its effect is very similar to our trick today, only it uses not the entire deck, but only four cards. Specifically - four Aces!
To describe it briefly, we invite the viewer to choose a card, after which we lose it in the deck. Then we show the spectator four Aces, and after a click, one of the Aces turns into the spectator’s card!
