In the construction of country houses and other specialized buildings, such a structure as a log house has been increasingly used recently. This is due to the good technical characteristics of this structure, in particular its heat-intensive properties, strength indicators and beautiful appearance. A log house built with your own hands is a reliable building that will last a very long time without requiring any repair work.

However, not everyone knows that such a design can also be used for the construction of a bath. This work is not easy, however, the result will be able to satisfy the wishes of even the most biased developers. That is why you should take a closer look at how to build a log cabin of a bath with your own hands so that the structure comes out reliable and beautiful.

Features of the construction of a log house

A log cabin building is a structure based on horizontally laid logs that act as walls. Each of these rows is usually called a crown, while the lowest level is called a “folding crown”.

For logs, wood of exclusively deciduous or coniferous species should be used. It is best to use freshly cut and dry trees to protect all structures from the accumulation of excess moisture.

The device of angular dressings from the outside can be carried out both with the remainder and without it. At the same time, the first method is characterized by laying logs outside the walls, and for the second this rule is not observed.

Options for the construction of log cabins can be very different - it all depends on the skills of the performer and the wishes of the owners themselves. The main installation methods are a do-it-yourself log house “in a bowl”, “in a paw”, as well as a simpler version - “in an end tongue”. Each of these methods has its own characteristics and distinctive features inherent in a particular structure.

Advantages and disadvantages of a log house

Such a building has a huge number of advantages, due to which it is advantageous when choosing the desired type of structure. So, the main positive characteristics of the log house are the following:

  • wood is an environmentally friendly and therefore absolutely safe material for health;
  • the heat capacity is very high, due to which the loss of heated air is minimal;
  • such a structure has an attractive appearance and original design;
  • The structure has a high strength index.

However, the construction of such a structure as a log cabin from a bar with your own hands may also have some negative points, which include the following:

  • high cost of consumables and the entire work process;
  • relatively short service life compared to structures made of other materials (especially in the absence of waterproofing and antiseptic treatment);
  • the complexity of construction.

One way or another, constructing a log house with your own hands is absolutely realistic, it is only important to carefully follow all the rules and recommendations that can simplify the installation process.

Log cabin of the bath: construction features

When choosing such a popular building for construction, you should first of all decide on the complexity of all the work, since the classic version of how to make a log house with your own hands requires certain skills and abilities from the performer. However, the wide range of materials that can be found on the construction market today makes it possible to create any bath design using a much simpler technology. Alternatively, you can always order a ready-made so-called "frame" and do your own assembly.

To make the bath as correct as possible, you also need to correctly determine the place of construction. Classical principles provided for the construction of such a log house near any reservoir, thanks to which contrast ablution became available. However, today there is no need to follow this rule, since nothing prevents you from creating a semblance of a pool on your own.

When choosing the best place for the construction of a log cabin, you should be guided by the following recommendations:

  • the structure must be located at a distance of at least 15 m from the residential building;
  • a good solution would be to create an artificial or natural hedge (it can be a fence, bushes and other plantings);
  • significant distance from the carriageway and the pedestrian road.

The layout usually depends on the desires of the owners, so the design can be both typical and original (with the involvement of a designer).

Rules for laying the foundation for a log cabin

As you know, the basis of any structure is the foundation. Moreover, it doesn’t matter at all whether a log house is being built with one’s own hands or this process takes place under the guidance of specialists, since such work, as a rule, is performed in the same way with any of the device methods.

Here it is necessary to decide what type of foundation will be used (column or tape), and also take into account the following tips:

  • laying should be carried out to the possible freezing depth;
  • the construction site must be cleared of any debris;
  • it is extremely important to get rid of the top (fertile) soil layer.

Do not forget that a properly laid foundation is the key to the strength and reliability of the entire structure.

The choice of material for the log cabin

It is believed that the classic log cabin of the bath (built with your own hands or with the help of professionals - it doesn’t matter) is a building made of coniferous wood (spruce or pine) with logs with a diameter of 250 mm. It is thanks to such wood that a unique atmosphere with an amazing smell is created in the steam room.

But today there is certainly no clear framework regarding what material to use. Speaking about the properties of wood, it is worth noting that, for example, pine is convenient and easy to process and will be an excellent option for creating such a structure as a log house with your own hands (this applies, first of all, to the construction of a bath).

Larch, used in construction, has a very high cost, but this material is hard, resistant to moisture and can last a very long time.

Oak is a proven option, however, in order to preserve its positive properties as much as possible, it is necessary to cut down the tree at the moment of greatest maturity and let it dry.

Linden and white spruce are excellent natural materials for removing excess moisture, so it is best to use these samples as bath cladding, as well as for its interior decoration.

The strongest tree is cedar. A bath built from such material will last a long time, and the logs themselves will not crack. Perhaps the main disadvantage of this option is its high cost.

Preparation of material for the construction of a bath

It is not difficult to fold a log cabin, especially if the performer has at least minimal skills in working with wood.

Initially, it is necessary to take a log with a section of 15 x 15 and lay it according to a predetermined design plan using supporting metal or wooden pins. In this case, the step of their installation should be approximately 150 cm.

It is necessary to equip the beam with holes intended for pins for half of its thickness, and the diameter must be selected so that the supporting element enters it without any problems.

To lay the next row, special holes need to be drilled in another place (they must be staggered, otherwise the installed timber may be deformed during the drying process).

Installation of pins during the construction of a bath log house

As mentioned above, do-it-yourself felling of a log house can have several varieties: “into a bowl”, “into a paw”, etc. Another common option is to install cuts 1.5 cm deep in areas and fix metal staples in them. The last method is the simplest and fastest to implement, so it should be discussed in more detail.

The cut is made so that the bracket is located more deeply, since gaps may appear during the drying process of the material. Such measures protect the frame from deformation and prevent the fixing elements from protruding above the surface.

The already completed building has corners where the ends of the bars protrude beyond the walls. There is absolutely no need to cut them down right away, and there are 2 reasons for that:

  1. Firstly, you need to wait at least six months so that the wood does not crack at the ends.
  2. Secondly, such protrusions can play the role of steps that make it easier to climb to the bathhouse for any work.

The process of leveling the log cabin of the bath from the outside

It is important that a tape-type insulation be placed between all the bars of the equipped steam room. Most often, materials like flax or jute are used for these purposes, but more traditional samples (tow, moss) can also be used. In no case should you forget about such an event with your own hands, however, due to the high technical properties of modern heaters, this can not be done, after making sure that they are securely fixed inside the log house.

Tape type should be laid between the bars and fixed with a stapler. Technical characteristics of jute are higher than those of flax, which explains its high cost. The fibers of this insulation have one indisputable advantage: when the beams shrink, they are pressed in a certain way, creating an insurmountable barrier to the flow of cold air and moisture.

Device for window openings

When erecting a bath frame from it is extremely important to pay special attention to such important elements of the structure as window and door openings. If the parameters for the location of these holes are incorrectly calculated, the design can turn out not only ugly, but also functionally incorrect.

To avoid this, at the intended installation site, cuts should be made in the uppermost of the bars, or, alternatively, they should be made systematically through one crown. It is important to remember that the full sawing of window openings can only be started when the bath frame is completely seated, otherwise the holes may subsequently be in the wrong place.

After arranging all the necessary openings, you can proceed to the following procedures - installing the roof and laying the desired coating. This should be done at the end, since during the drying process the material can be deformed, and the additional weight in the form of a roof will press the beam and prevent various flaws like gaps and crevices from appearing on its surface.

Interior decoration of the log cabin of the bath

Repair work in the steam room involves finishing the walls with high-quality insulation, as well as their lining with a specially designed wooden clapboard. The material for this can be very different, since the modern market offers numerous varieties of species - aspen, linden, cedar, etc., so choosing the desired sample is not difficult.

Sheathing the inside of a log cabin from a log with your own hands, do not forget that the maximum temperature in this room is always kept under the ceiling, so it is important to foresee this moment and exclude the use of wood containing a large amount of resin, which tends to melt and drip when heated.

Originally made benches and shelves, which are also best made from hardwood, will give the building special beauty and functionality, since they do not burn the body at high temperatures.

In addition, it is worth remembering that the finishing of the bath should be done in such a way that it remains possible to quickly clean the room, so it is better that all the benches below have an open view.

When building such a structure as a bath log house, it is worth remembering with your own hands that such a construction requires more attention from the owners than an ordinary residential building. Regular exposure to high temperatures and moisture can cause mold and rot, so you should take into account the following recommendations for the operation of a wooden steam room:

  • even before the walls are laid, it is important to treat the material with antiseptic compounds, and after the assembly is completed, this should be done at least once every 1-2 years;
  • any should end with a thorough wet cleaning of the room and its ventilation;
  • all furniture and other items used indoors must be taken outside to dry.

Compliance with such measures will eliminate the appearance of harmful fungi, mold and bacteria in the bath, provide the entire structure with reliability, attractive appearance and long service life, and eliminate the need for any repair work.

Bath from a log - 5 stages of construction with your own hands

There are enough new high-quality materials in the construction industry now, but a log bath is still considered the queen of all such structures. Although there are many projects, there is still an unshakable instruction, consisting of 5 stages, according to which absolutely all baths are built, both from simple and rounded logs, this algorithm will be discussed further.

Why the log

Chopped buildings and especially baths are still very popular and there are several reasons for this:

  • It is difficult to come up with a more environmentally friendly material than a wooden log;
  • Log cabins represent reliability and some kind of wild natural beauty. Such baths often do not even need a special design, they are already a work of art in themselves;
  • Such rooms do not need air conditioning, due to the special properties of logs with minimal processing, a natural microclimate is created inside, because wooden walls "breathe";
  • Wood is deservedly considered a good sound and heat insulator. If the log house is folded correctly, then it does not need any additional finishing and insulation.

As for the minuses, their long and rather significant shrinkage is considered a common drawback of all wooden structures. Even a bath from a well-dried and prepared forest will actively sit down for at least another 1 year.

The second major downside is the price. A high-quality rounded log is not cheap, and not everyone can prepare a freshly cut forest with their own hands without special equipment, and then it is very long and hard.

If you want to get a wooden bathhouse and save money, then it will be easier to fold it from an ordinary sawn timber, then insulate and sheathe it with an imitation of a rounded log (block house), which, of course, is not quite right, but cheaper.

Five stages of building a log bath

The general algorithm for building a classic log sauna with a stove looks something like this:

  1. Browse projects and choose the right one;
  2. Choose the type of foundation and lay it;
  3. We buy timber and start construction;
  4. When the box is folded, we mount the roof and wait at least a year until the structure shrinks;
  5. Next comes the installation of the furnace, roof insulation, as well as the insertion of windows and doors.

Stage number 1. We select a project

This stage is not so much difficult as responsible. Perhaps the most popular now is the project of a bathhouse with an attic of 6 6 m, plus or minus 50–70 cm. That is, this is a square building 6 by 6 m.

It has been repeatedly tested and proven that all the necessary premises fit perfectly into the dimensions of 6x6 m. In such a bath, 4-6 people feel free.

For a family of 4 to relax, it is not at all necessary to take out an attic, here you can get by with one floor.

There is an even more economical solution that is well suited for arranging in a small country house.

If there is enough space on the site, and there are no problems with building materials, then you can aim at a more spacious building about 10 m long.

For people who do not intend to save money and who are accustomed to taking a steam bath in a "big way" there are projects of entire bath complexes.

Stage number 2. Foundation

The good thing about a wooden frame is that it is relatively light and any foundation can be equipped for such a structure, but they usually choose from 3 options, which are shown below.

Illustrations Recommendations

Screw piles.

The foundation of metal piles-screws can be equipped in a couple of days and you can immediately start building the building.

Such a foundation is also good in that it can be mounted on any soil.

Bulk columns.

The columnar foundation is cheaper than the previous option.

You can make holes about 1 m deep with a garden drill, then insert asbestos-cement pipes with reinforcement inside them and fill everything with concrete.

Strip foundation.

This is a classic and fairly reliable foundation, but it is only suitable for stable soils.

On heaving and swampy terrain, it is better to choose a columnar option.

Keep in mind - if you plan to build a capital brick oven, then you need to equip a separate foundation for it, and it should be no closer than 100 mm from the main one.

Stage number 3. Building walls

You can talk about the charms of different types of wood for a long time, but from experience, in most cases they take a pine or cedar log. Of course, at high temperatures, conifers abundantly emit resin, but the steam room can be sheathed with lime lining, and between the lining and the wall lay foil with mineral wool and everything will be in order.

If before that you have not encountered laying log cabins, then it is better to buy a ready-made set. Such sets consist of a prepared and processed wood with docking grooves already cut out, in fact this is a constructor that you only need to assemble. Everything is there - from the lower starting strapping to the roof truss system.

It is believed that such a designer is 20-30% more expensive. But here you paid and everything was brought to you right away, and if you calculate only the transport costs for the delivery of a separate log, truss system, window and door structures and other fittings, it turns out the same, and you will kill 5 times more time and effort.

As for the subtleties and rules for laying a log house, there is a step-by-step instruction below in the video in this article.

Stage number 4. Roof

If you want the shrinkage to be even and complete faster, then the rafter system and the roof itself must be installed immediately. There are no special tricks inherent in a particular log bath, everything is mounted as standard, as in a conventional roof. The only thing I would advise is not to lay insulation during shrinkage.

Stage number 5. Furnace

What is a bathhouse without a good stove stove? But there is one caveat here, the construction of a brick stove for a bath will cost many times more than installing an electric heater or a good cast-iron potbelly stove. Plus, a brick oven needs a capital reinforced concrete foundation.

Among the stove-makers, the sauna stove is the aerobatics, because it constantly works in extreme overheating mode. If they tell you that it is easy and can be done on the cheap, drive such a stove away. Believe me, if there is not enough money, it is better to install a potbelly stove or an electric train. The photo below shows an example of such a potbelly stove for a bath.

Output

Whichever bath project you choose, the installation sequence and the main points described above will remain unchanged. If you have any questions, write in the comments, I will try to help.

What could be more pleasant than to recuperate by steaming in! You can build it on your site with your own hands, choosing, for example, a project from timber or logs. How to build a log house in stages - shown in detail in the photo and thematic video.

Project selection. Procurement of building material

Having decided to build a real Russian bath from wood impregnated with fragrant resins, decide what exactly you will take for the construction of a log house: timber or logs. The first option is more common for a number of reasons:

  • relatively low cost (compared to logs);
  • minimal shrinkage, so you can start finishing earlier;
  • simpler construction technology;
  • the possibility of building a simple foundation, because a blockhouse made of beams is lighter than a log cabin, and this also saves money.

Buildings made of logs are considered more complex; here it is very difficult to do without the help of a master. If raw material is harvested from scratch, it is necessary to properly cut and dry it. Then you should carefully match one log to another, number them, etc. In terms of time, this is quite costly, but there is an easier way: to build a log house from logs. They are processed on the machine, giving each the correct shape.

Regardless of what you prefer, there are several rules for harvesting (purchasing) wood:

  1. The material should not have spots, wormholes, deep cracks, a large number of knots.
  2. The permissible curvature of the logs should not exceed 1 cm.
  3. Dried material is preferable to non-dried material. If you bought "raw" logs, you can dry them yourself (this will take about a year). It is believed that a block of damp wood should be erected immediately, then the drying process will coincide with shrinkage and it will be possible to avoid cracks and severe deformation of the logs.
  4. Logs harvested in winter are wetter and heavier than logs cut in summer.
  5. The sawn tree must lie down for at least a month before construction begins.

Advice. The further north the forest is located, the denser the wood structure. One of the best is the material that comes from the Pskov region.

You can choose a ready-made bath project, or you can make it according to an individual sketch. To do this, you need to decide what exactly should be in your building:

  1. The attic is a convenient option for arranging a rest room.
  2. The veranda is a place for spiritual gatherings with a cup of tea after the steam room.
  3. - for lovers of barbecue in the fresh air.
  4. A wide porch is a traditional Russian version of a bathhouse.

Foundation construction and waterproofing

The foundation for the bath is selected taking into account several factors:

  • soil type;
  • climatic conditions;
  • type of building material.

The tape base is considered optimal for a bath from a bar. If you use logs in construction, it is better to make a more powerful foundation, for example, a columnar one. It withstands heavier structures, including log cabins.

To build a strip foundation you need:

Advice. 3-4 hours after the end of the pouring, you need to cover the foundation with shavings or sawdust and water it for 2-3 days at intervals of 4-5 hours. To make the moisture evaporate more slowly, you need to use a polyethylene shelter. In a week, the formwork can be removed, and in a month the foundation itself will be ready.

Waterproofing is an obligatory stage in the construction of a bath. Molten bitumen must be applied to the surface of the foundation. A strip of roofing material is placed on top. After solidification, everything is repeated in the same sequence.

Phased construction of a log house

The erection of walls consists of the following stages:

  1. Laying every 25-30 cm along the entire foundation of slats, processed. Their thickness is 1.5 cm.
  2. Installation of the first crown (row). It can not be fastened, but it is necessary to check the horizontal position with a level.
  3. Filling the gaps between the beams and the foundation with mounting foam.
  4. Laying the remaining rows. The last 2 do not need to be fixed, the rest can be connected:
  • wooden dowels or dowels (bars);
  • metal pins.

At the ends, the bars are connected by grooves that are made on one, two or four sides. The logs are attached a little differently. The easiest way involves cutting a semicircular recess in the upper part, into which a transverse log is inserted, also having a similar cutout.

Advice. Bars or logs for the first crown must be treated with an antiseptic or machine oil, and insulation should be laid between all rows: moss, tow or jute.

Blanks for windows and doors are easiest to make in the process of building walls. To do this, you need to leave a small gap in the rows where the openings are planned. After the construction of the log house, you need to cut holes with a chainsaw. After the natural shrinkage has passed (it takes about six months), you can make a roof. Most often choose a flat shed option.

Attention! While shrinkage is in progress, you need to cover the log house with boards and roofing felt or slate to protect the wood from precipitation.

What to build a bath: video

The traditional Russian banya is built of wood. This material perfectly retains heat and, when heated, releases healing substances into the air of the room. Properly processed and installed log cabins serve several generations. The ecological cleanliness of wood, its lively energy and natural structure make the material popular, despite the high cost. This is a time-honored classic that is not inferior to brick, cinder block and other inexpensive building materials.

A log bath can be built by a home craftsman who knows how to handle an ax, a drill and a saw. This process is not very complicated and is quite feasible on our own, but it is better to invite assistants to assemble the log house.

Material selection

Sellers offer two types of wood:

  1. Dried.
  2. natural humidity.

Undried material is cheaper, but after the construction of the frame, it will shrink significantly.

To build a reliable bath that will last for many years, you need wood harvested in winter, peeled and sufficiently dried. A log house made of such logs can be used for 50 years.

Finishing

Inside the room, it is necessary to install a draft floor with insulation. The walls of the steam room are sheathed with clapboard, under which foil insulation is laid. This is necessary so that when heated, the resin from the logs does not get on people. Finishing is made by a board from deciduous trees. The outer part of the bath is good in its natural form and does not require additional finishing. Windows and doors are best installed after the final shrinkage of the log house.

In a Russian bath made of logs, folded independently, it is always warmer and more pleasant.

Video

This video tells about the project of a 3x3 log bath with a 2-meter dressing room:

A photo

Traditionally, a Russian steam room is built from a single log or beam. Such material is not only environmentally friendly and durable, it also has high heat and sound insulation characteristics. In addition to its practicality, wood is attractive in that even a novice developer who knows how to work with an electric drill and an ax can build a log cabin with his own hands.

Advantages of bathhouses

A log cabin is a reliable and practical structure, the main advantage of which is the speed of construction. Other advantages of a wooden structure include the following:

  • the availability of construction work without the involvement of third-party specialists;
  • possible shrinkage of the finished log house does not exceed 11 cm;
  • financial savings in the independent construction of a wooden bath;
  • a large selection of ready-made bath projects or the possibility of developing your own project;
  • confidence in the quality of the building material;
  • useful experience in private low-rise construction.

The choice of lumber for the bath

A log house for a bath is erected from coniferous wood - spruce, juniper, pine, cedar and larch. At the same time, part of the wood from the butt (root part) to the crown is considered the best lumber for the construction of wooden baths. This area has a high density of wood fibers and is practically devoid of flaws.

There are two types of wood on the construction market:

  • dried;
  • with natural moisture levels.

Important! After construction, the log house made of dried material is smaller.

In order to properly build a bath from a log house, when choosing and harvesting lumber, it is important to consider the following recommendations:

  1. The quality of the material is determined by the absence of spots, deformations, knots, cracks and wormholes on the surface.
  2. The permissible level of curvature of one log should not be more than 10 mm, the diameter should be from 25 to 35 cm.
  3. A wooden frame made of raw material is erected immediately after its preparation for uniform drying and shrinkage of the finished structure. This will prevent possible deformation of the bath.
  4. Wood felling is more often carried out during the cold period - at the end of autumn or in winter.
  5. Sawn logs must be settled and aged for at least 30 days from the moment of felling.
  6. When harvesting the material independently, the logs are carefully cleaned of bark and knots with a scraper. At the same time, strips up to 20 cm wide are left at the edges for the natural shrinkage of wood.
  7. To ensure long-term storage, cut logs are stacked in bundles or stacks with gaps between individual elements of 6 cm, between rows - 1.5 cm and from the top level of the ground to the lower elements - 15 cm.

Important! When preparing a log, one should take into account the technical shrinkage of the trunk diameter, which should be up to 8 mm per linear meter of wood.

Preparation of a working draft for a wooden bath

The construction of a log cabin is a laborious and responsible process, which is carried out in stages. The initial stage is the preparation of the bath project.

A typical project includes:

  • selection of a suitable building site;
  • the layout of the number of storeys and the interior of the bath;
  • planning the location of window and door openings;
  • selection of heating, ventilation equipment and lighting fixtures;
  • selection of building and finishing materials;
  • development of interior design;
  • construction cost calculation.

Finished projects are freely available, but to get an individual sketch, you should contact the design bureau.

Construction of a reliable foundation for a bath

Log baths have an impressive weight, so for them it is necessary to build a foundation of a tape or type.

The tape base is suitable for moving soils with different levels of freezing, is able to withstand the ultimate load of the structure, and also allows you to build underground structures - basements, cellars and garages.

The columnar base is more economical, practical, accessible for installation, has high strength indicators. It is suitable for construction on soils with a high content of clay, sand, and also prone to rapid freezing. The disadvantages of the foundation include the impossibility of arranging cellars and cellars, as well as the need for additional insulation of the floor base.

The construction of the strip foundation is carried out as follows:

  1. A trench is dug at the chosen place for building: depth - up to 100 cm, width - up to 45 cm.
  2. The bottom is equipped with a sand cushion, moistened and rammed. The height of the sand layer is 18 cm.
  3. Formwork is mounted from the boards with reinforcement with metal bars, the upper part of which is cut off along the height of the foundation.
  4. The formwork is filled with ready-mixed concrete along the perimeter of the trench for the construction of a monolithic base.
  5. After the concrete has completely dried, a waterproofing layer is laid to prevent the base from being washed away. To do this, concrete is treated with hot bitumen, and then covered with rolled roofing material.

Construction of log walls

The next stage of work is the assembly of wall structures of a log house from round timber. Many novice developers are interested in how to cut down a bathhouse and what tools to use in their work? The standard set of tools includes:

  • electric or gasoline saw;
  • ax and hammer for wood;
  • electric drill and planer;
  • chisels of different sizes;
  • measuring instruments - building level, tape measure, ruler, square and plumb line.

To assemble a bath log house, a classic technology is used, which is simple and easy to master. It provides for the construction of a wooden structure in strict sequence.

  1. When erecting walls, it is necessary to make a strapping (folding) crown. For it, 4 logs are used, pre-treated with an antiseptic. To ensure a snug fit of the crown to the foundation, an insulating material is used - tow or jute. The location of the logs is at a right angle, the connection is in a bowl or paw. The optimal size of a log house is 9 sq.m.
  2. The next two pairs of logs are installed in a similar way, forming the second row.
  3. The joints between the logs are carefully caulked to prevent heat loss.
  4. Between themselves, the crowns are fixed with square dowels or wooden dowels of a round shape.
  5. Upon reaching the required height of the log house, ceiling beams and a rafter system are mounted.

Important! The technology of connecting the log house elements into the bowl is provided for rounded and prepared logs. And the technology is in the paw - for logs and beams without prior preparation.

Construction of the roof structure

The next stage - the erection of the roof - can be started after the complete shrinkage of the log house in order to prevent its deformation.

The work is carried out in the following order:

  1. Beams are mounted on top of the wooden structure, which are the basis for fixing the rafters. The distance between the legs of the truss system is no more than 100 cm.
  2. Boards are tightly installed on the rafters to obtain a continuous flooring, and a vapor barrier is fixed between them.
  3. The selected roofing material is mounted on the crate - slate, metal tiles, ondulin, etc.
  4. The pediments are lined with clapboard or other available material.

Arrangement of openings for windows and doors, building caulking

The manufacture of door and window openings is carried out after the completion of the construction of the bath. To do this, it is necessary to cut gaps in wall structures with a saw: four for windows, one for the front door and one for ventilation.

After that, it remains to insulate the finished building in order to reduce possible heat losses during operation.

To eliminate interventional cracks and gaps formed after shrinkage, a log bath requires mandatory insulation. For this, moss, ribbon jute and tow are used.

Internal decorative finish

Inside the premises, a rough flooring is equipped with an additional heat-insulating layer. For lining the walls of the steam room, a lining is used, under which an insulating and vapor barrier layer on a foil base is mounted. This prevents overheating and destruction of the wooden structure.

The best material for interior wall cladding is hardwood, resistant to high temperatures and humidity.

Tiles or porcelain tiles with a rough surface are laid on the floor.

And now, a do-it-yourself bath from a log house has been built, maintained, insulated and ready for further operation - the first furnace and health procedures.
