Every child dreams of their own space, where adults will not be allowed to enter. Haven’t we ourselves tried to build a hut outside and a “halabuda” indoors: our own separate housing? Everything possible was used: branches, cardboard boxes, chairs, blankets, etc. And how envious they were of those whose parents built small houses for them on their own! Perhaps it is precisely because in childhood we did not have such toys that we strive to give everything possible to our children and a house for children in the country is no longer a curiosity, but a necessity.

The phrase “children’s house” is most often associated with a reliable wooden structure. Firstly, it is an environmentally friendly material, and secondly, it is durable - more than one generation of children can be raised here. Houses made of pine and, in general, any coniferous trees are especially good, as they are very good for health. By building a separate play area for your child, you will provide your baby with his own shelter where he can do any interesting activities. Moreover, regardless of the weather, the child will be able to hide in his own little world: play, read, meet with friends, or maybe just dream and relax.

What is most important for parents when building a house? Child safety, savings on materials and so that the construction does not interfere, but is beneficial. Many are indignant that a child will be interested in the house for several years at most, but then what to do with the structure? Well, firstly, the house can be sold to neighbors who have children, and secondly, you can use it as a utility room - for storing garden tools, etc.

If you still have doubts, you can build a house that does not have a monolithic frame, or buy a ready-made plastic portable house. Choose your own children's house project and give your child a dream come true!

Children's houses made of wood

  1. Currently, wood is the most common material for construction. And this despite the fact that the choice of materials is simply huge!
  2. Wood always wins because it is a natural material. It is environmentally friendly, durable, safe and easily available.
  3. To work with wood, there is no need for any exotic tools; you only need a hammer, nails, saw, plane, sandpaper, and screws. Besides, working with wood is a pleasure!
  4. You can build a simple, modest house from wood, or you can build a whole castle. It all depends on your desire and, of course, skill.
  5. To build a masterpiece you will need a serious set of tools and equipment, but as such it will not add complexity to you.
  6. In addition to pure wood, plywood, MDF, lining, internal combustion engine, chipboard and various other materials that are based on wood can be used to build a house.
  7. When building a wooden house, you can combine wooden materials with each other.
  8. Taking into account the place where the house will stand and its functional duties, you can select the materials from which the house will be built. For example, if the structure will stand under a canopy, then it is quite possible to make a children’s house from plywood.

Children's houses made of cardboard

  1. Even the child himself can make a children's house from a cardboard box - just have a large package of large household appliances in stock.
  2. If there is no box, you can use thick, durable cardboard - it is perfectly fastened with staples, a construction stapler, tape or “moment” glue.
  3. Doors and windows can be cut using scissors or a knife - first, however, you need to draw the lines along which the parts are cut.
  4. The roof can be glued together of any type - it all depends on your and your child’s imagination. A few pieces of cardboard will help you with this.
  5. All joints can be additionally reinforced with tape - this will help the product remain in good shape for a long time.
  6. Decorating the product is the most important point, because this is what your baby’s mood depends on, because first of all he should like the house. You can paint the walls with a regular brush and gouache.
  7. If you have old wallpaper, you can cover the inside of the house with these scraps. If you don’t have wallpaper, it doesn’t matter; you can use children’s drawings or clippings from children’s magazines for these purposes.
  8. Don't insist too much on decorating the house inside and out - let the child choose the colors and style himself.
  9. A house made of cardboard is short-lived. You can play in it outside only if there is no high humidity and wind.
  10. A cardboard house is the best solution for an apartment.

Children's houses made of fabric

  1. The fabric will not allow you to build a monolithic structure, but you will definitely get a funny, cozy hut! If you don't know how to build a house for children, pay attention to this option!
  2. To create a fabric house, you need to build a frame over which the fabric is placed.
  3. Depending on your desire, such a house can be either collapsible or stationary.
  4. To make the frame, you can use plastic or iron pipes, as well as wooden blocks. You can buy material for the frame at hardware stores.
  5. If you choose wooden blocks for the frame, you must first sand them and then paint them. This will protect the child from scratches and splinters.
  6. The hut is prepared very simply - you need to tie the ends of the frame planks (bars, pipes) together at one end. From the opposite end, the frame should rest against a solid support, while the slats should be moved apart in different directions.
  7. It is necessary to throw a fabric over the structure - it can be a sheet, a piece of fabric or a specially sewn cover. These will be the walls of the house.
  8. There is no floor here, so you need to lay a warm blanket or a warm rug.
  9. This structure can be assembled and disassembled at any time, and taken out into the garden if the weather is not windy or rainy.
  10. You can also arrange a stationary hut - all you need to do is fix the hoop under the ceiling (in principle, you can choose the height yourself) and throw a cloth over it.
  11. When building a house from fabric, it is very important to sew a cover so that you get a door and windows - then your house will simply not be worth anything. Children will definitely appreciate it.

Children's houses made of plasterboard

  1. Plasterboard houses are built indoors. They are stationary and can be played with for a long time.
  2. A house made from this material can become a real decoration for any apartment or house, the main thing is to choose the right project.
  3. The frame in a plasterboard house is made up of ordinary aluminum profiles or ordinary wooden blocks.
  4. The drywall is attached to the frame with self-tapping screws using a screwdriver.
  5. Internal work in a plasterboard house must be very careful so that the baby is not injured by the structure.
  6. If you are planning a two-story house, you need to pay special attention to the ceiling and steps - they are best made of wood, because drywall is a more fragile material - it will break under the weight of a child.
  7. In a plasterboard house you can arrange furniture and provide light, make real windows with window sills, steps and a canopy over the door. In general, your imagination - and in the room there is a real fairy-tale castle or a magic hut.
  8. Houses made of plasterboard are not suitable for the street, since the material is not moisture resistant and can quickly become unusable.
  9. You can build an excellent children's house with a slide from plasterboard. In this case, the slide can be high - “from the second floor”.

Children's plastic houses

The production of toys today has stepped far forward - you will no longer surprise anyone with plastic houses that look like fairy-tale huts. The only disadvantage of these structures is their price, which is sometimes exorbitant for several meters of plastic.

Basically, plastic houses are used as an element of a children's playground. For example, there is a ready-made children's playhouse with a tunnel or a veranda, a children's playhouse with a slide or a swing.

All you have to do is pay a certain amount and assemble the structure at home. And that’s all – long-term entertainment is guaranteed for your child!

DIY construction of a children's house

Wooden houses, as we found out, are the most durable and safe structures. Building a children's house will not take you much time, so you will soon be able to please your child.

How to make a children's house: choosing a location

If you decide to build a good-quality stationary playhouse, you need to choose a suitable place for it, because the structure will stand for a long time.

A tree house is probably the best option, but if it is not possible to make such a structure, or you are afraid for your child, then it is better to abandon this option. But a hut under a tree is exactly what you need! In addition, over time, the house may have “neighbors”: a sandbox, a slide, a swing, etc.

Carefully study your site and find a place that would be ideal for building a house. Look for a quiet place in the shade, away from noise and drafts. There should be enough space for games near the house. There should be no garage, vegetable garden, well or other outbuildings. These conditions are very important both for children’s play and for the peace of mind of parents.

Found a suitable place? Amazing! Start building a drawing of a children's house, and then start building it!

The size of the house depends solely on your desires and capabilities. On average, wooden houses have a size of 1.5x1.5 (or 1.4x1.6), with a height of 1 meter to 1.5 meters. And, by the way, if you have a diagram of a children’s house, then it will be much easier for you, so don’t be lazy to draw the project first, and only then start creating.

How to make a children's house: foundation and floor

  1. For a children's house, as for its adult counterpart, construction begins with the foundation.
  2. The base can be ordinary soil, sand or crushed stone.
  3. There are several options you can use to lay your boards. You can remove the top layer of earth and pour crushed stone on top, then level everything and lay the support beams on this platform. Or you can pave the corners of the building with special blocks (for example, concrete), the supports should be placed on sand pads. It turns out that the corners of the structure are placed at a depth of 30 to 50 cm. In this case, the earth must be pulled out of the holes, and sand must be poured into them and compacted. By the way, the floor frame can be knocked down in advance.
  4. It is necessary to place blocks on the prepared place (they must be at the same level). Use a level to ensure the frame is level.
  5. The waterproofing layer is a very important point that will help the house survive for many years. Basically, roofing felt, roofing felt, and mastic are used as insulators. You can make a house on stilts or brick pillars (at least 20 cm high) - then the ventilation will be natural.

How to make a children's house: frame

The installation of the frame is carried out after the construction of the foundation has been completed.

  1. Lay the blocks on the foundation blocks (support beams), connect them into a rectangle using self-tapping screws and corners.
  2. Thanks to the metal corners, the structure will be strong, but it will still be necessary to install cross bars. For a large house you will need at least 3 spacers, and ideally all 5. If the house is small, then 1 board will be enough.
  3. Once you have the frame ready, you can start working on the floor. To create the floor, chipboard, HDF, and MDF are used. Their main purpose is to withstand the weight and active games of children. Experts advise using a board with the following parameters: length - 6 m, thickness - 28 mm, width - 13.5 cm. 4 boards are enough for the entire floor.
  4. Don't forget to protect the wood from moisture and insect damage. The floorboard needs doubly protection - treat it on both sides with an antiseptic and moisture-repellent components.

How to make a children's house: walls and roof

The floor is ready, it's time to start building the walls.

  1. The walls are mounted in the form of a frame made of beams - then it will need to be sheathed - with clapboard or board.
  2. Don't forget that the house must have windows (at least one) and a door.
  3. 60x40 beams must be installed in the corners of the future house, its length should be 3 m.
  4. Depending on the height of the house you plan to make, the timber should be cut into 1 m or 1.5 m sections.
  5. Also install beams under the future door and window(s).
  6. In order to secure the beam, it will be enough to lightly nail it - in the future it should be easy to get rid of them. Thanks to this, you will not have to worry about fastening parts until special mounting angles are installed.
  7. It is necessary to install spacers between the beams - this will be the fastening system.
  8. The beams must be connected on top with a frame - this will also be the basis for the roof. After the base for the walls is ready, you need to remove the nails and install metal corners in this very place.
  9. Very important - all corners must be secured with corner fasteners, just like the butt elements. Only after doing this work will you be confident that your house is durable.
  10. Those beams that stand horizontally: calculate how many boards are needed to cover them. Secure horizontal braces at the same height as the top of the window and door.
  11. To complete the frame correctly, you need to install roof braces. Knock two bars with their ends facing each other - as if it were an unfinished triangle, where one of the walls is its base. The free ends must be secured to the upper beams of the walls. As a result, you should get from 2 to 4 such triangles.
  12. They must stand strictly opposite each other, as well as between the first pair. Be sure to secure the bars with corners.

How to make a children's house: design

  1. Wooden panels or clapboards are used to cover the walls, but you can simply lay the boards beautifully. Lining is the fastest option: all elements are easily connected to each other, they do not need to be measured and adjusted for a long time.
  2. The roof can be made again - from boards, and covered on top with scraps: roofing felt, tiles, ondulin, slate.
  3. A wooden house can be decorated with bright colors, or it can be left in its natural state, having previously been opened with varnish for exterior use.
  4. Inside the house you can arrange a table and chairs or benches, you can put a small sofa, make a kitchen or workshop. All elements can be purchased, or you can make it yourself.
  5. In front of the house you can build a porch and a canopy over the front door, and you can make shutters for the windows.
  6. Sew curtains on the windows, lay a tablecloth on the table.
  7. Use only treated boards to build the house so that children do not get scratched or injured.
  8. Make sure that all metal parts are well sealed and do not stick out.
  9. If you don’t have a garden plot and a summer house, this is not a reason to upset your child - make him a house right in the apartment - do not deny yourself and your child the pleasure!

To organize a child’s leisure time, parents have to rack their brains in search of a suitable solution. In fact, the answer is quite simple: in order for a child to spend the day in active games, it is necessary to organize his personal space. The way out of this situation would be a do-it-yourself children's house. In any yard you can allocate a small area for the construction of a playhouse. All that remains is to select a diagram, materials, tools and get to work. You can find detailed instructions in our article.

Common types

In order to make a children's house, you can use a variety of materials that were left over after construction or renovation; if there are none, purchase them at a hardware store. Undoubtedly, the most popular lumber is:

  • bars;
  • plywood;
  • boards.

Let's look at common options.

Plywood

The construction of a plywood playhouse begins with design, that is, they create a drawing or layout, from which it will then be possible to calculate the required amount of material and make blanks. At this stage, the places allocated for the door and windows are marked. To build the simplest summer hut, a couple of sheets of the selected material will be enough, but in general, the consumption will completely depend on the dimensions of the structure. Consider a few more important points:

  • windows are located from the floor at a height of 60 cm;
  • the doorway should be 15–20 cm higher than the child’s height;
  • the dimensions of the future house should allow the child to feel comfortable;
  • the roof is arranged at an angle of 45°;
  • sheets of plywood can be cut with a regular saw and fastened with nails;
  • all corners must be sanded with sandpaper so that the child does not get injured during the game;
  • When choosing paints and varnishes, it is best to give preference to safe and non-toxic types.

Note! The location of the house should be advantageous for parents: it should be as visible as possible from the windows or from the porch of the house in order to constantly monitor the child.

Wooden boards

If you want to equip a durable and reliable house at your dacha in which your child can play all year round, then you should choose wooden boards. This material has a clear advantage - wood, when properly processed, is practically not subject to wear. The following points are taken into account:

  • for the frame choose beams with a cross section of 5 cm;
  • to enhance strength, the frame is covered with planks 2 cm thick;
  • the finished house is covered with deck varnish;
  • They approach the coloring stage creatively, choosing bright colors and drawing the child’s favorite cartoon characters.
Note! As with any building, it is necessary to provide waterproofing for the roof in a wooden playhouse.

Hut on legs

To make not a simple house, but a fancy place for playing games, it is best to choose a fairy-tale hut on legs. The important stage is the initial one. Having a drawing that is correct and calculated to the smallest detail, you can count on getting a practical and good-quality house. When choosing a material to create the most interesting element - legs, you can focus on:

  • wooden blocks;
  • metal pipes;
  • stones.

A variety of combinations are suitable for decoration. In addition, you need to pay attention to the following points:

  • The height of the legs should not exceed 70 cm.
  • The base of the legs is poured with concrete for stability.
  • For convenience and comfort, there should be a low staircase or open steps.
  • The entire house is assembled from wooden boards: first, the frame is knocked down, which is then sheathed with boards.
Note! Since the house is a place for active games, the legs should not be high. The structure must be safe and stable.

Step-by-step construction instructions

To make a simple children's house made of wood, you will need to allocate a little of your time, collect the material with the tools and get to work.

Materials

Any construction must begin with planning. Only a clear diagram will allow you to calculate the required amount of material and make a purchase. For the described playhouse you will need the following materials:

  1. Board panels (180×240 cm) – 6 pcs.
  2. Treated timber (with a cross-section of 10×10 cm, length 180 cm) – 4 pcs.
  3. Treated timber (with a section of 5×10 cm, length 240 cm) – 6 pcs.
  4. Treated timber (section 5×7.5 cm, length 240 cm) – 2 pcs.
  5. Ruberoid – 1 roll.
  6. Screws (30 mm) – 2 packs. 500 g each
  7. Screws (75 mm) – 1 pack.
  8. Tar paper nails.
  9. Wood stain – 10 l.
  10. Thin planks.

The racks are formed from timber with a cross-section of 5×7.5 cm and a length of 240 cm. It is from these that the base for the board panels is made.

Note! When choosing a stain, you should choose two colors: 7 l - “light cedar” and 3 l - dark green.

Tools

Construction tools you will need:

  • shovel;
  • tamping;
  • level;
  • hammer;
  • drill-driver;
  • Circular Saw;
  • beat;
  • tassels;
  • stationery knife.

Note! It is necessary to make cuts with a circular saw from the inside of the panels so that chips do not form on the outside.

Completing of the work

Before you make a beautiful playhouse with your own hands, just familiarize yourself with the following algorithm of actions.

Floor and walls

  1. A site for the future house is selected, leveled and compacted. If desired and available funds, it is recommended to dig trenches and fill a layer of crushed stone for support beams with a cross-section of 10x10 cm.
  2. The length of the support beams is equal to the distance between the two outer posts of the board panels, that is, 140 cm. For convenience, you can take a beam with a cross-section of 5x7.5 cm and a length of 240 cm, attach it to one panel, and mark the locations on it. Thanks to the existing markings, you can install the logs without much difficulty.
  3. The soil is leveled, focusing on the lowest point. First, the first support beam is installed, which will be the front, after which it comes to the rear. They check the evenness and horizontality, and then you can install the two central ones.
  4. To fasten the supports together, use 2 beams with a cross-section of 5x10 cm and a length of 240 cm. They must pass between the posts of the plank panel that will be the floor. They are fixed with screws. The resulting voids must be filled with soil, leaving an air gap of about 3 cm, which is necessary for normal air circulation.
  5. The plank panels are cut to the required sizes and the smoothest one is selected for the floor. It must be laid so that it does not come into contact with the ground anywhere. To achieve this, you can additionally use timber trim. The edges must completely coincide with the support bars.
  6. To cut the side panels correctly, first mark the height of the side panels, that is, 150 cm. You also need to leave a margin of 5.5 cm. Cut only from the inside.
Note! Don't forget to leave a little extra width for the back and front panels. Thanks to this, they will be able to cover the side pillars. To ensure overlap, it is necessary to measure another 2 cm from the outer edges of the posts.

Roof

  1. Since the roof is the most complex element of the structure, you will have to concentrate and give all your attention. Labor intensity also lies in the need to unscrew all the rear panel posts in order to reattach them later. On the front panel, measure the distance from the top center point to the side point located below. This will allow you to decide where to place the roof panel racks.
  2. Please note that the post that runs along the ridge must be placed exactly 5 cm from the center line. In this case, during installation, both racks will not overlap each other.
  3. It is best to use beams with a cross section of 5x7.5 cm as additional racks (if any are needed). During installation, you should constantly check their perpendicularity to the top of the roof. If necessary, they are aligned along the bottom edge.
  4. All irregularities on the tops are successfully masked by the ridge.
Note! Only remove and reposition the posts one at a time to maintain rigidity and strength.

Final stages

  1. For a doorway, dimensions of 60x120 cm will be quite sufficient. This size will fit perfectly into the span between the racks. But if necessary, you can choose other sizes.
  2. First of all, cut out the window(s), and then move on to the door. Please note that you need to be careful and attentive with the door; do not cut it completely, as the panel is not yet fully secured and the structure will lose its rigidity.
  3. All elements are covered with stain and varnish. Paint and varnish materials should be applied both inside and outside to form a protective layer.
  4. Using 75 mm screws, all elements are fixed to each other and to the support bars. Once the frame is secured, you can completely cut out the doorway and install the roof.
  5. The door and shutters are made, the porch is assembled and fixed.

The very last touch is the interior decoration of the house, making furniture, for example, a table and chairs.

Note! It is not necessary to insert glass into window openings; you can do without them altogether. Plexiglas, which is safe, will also work.

Do not forget that the internal arrangement also plays a big role, especially when it comes to little princesses who imitate adults during play. Regardless of what material and design was chosen to create the play space, your baby will be happy. It is in the house that he will be able to spend hours of active recreation every day with pleasure, developing his imagination.

Look what a beautiful house can be made from boards, timber and siding:

And here it is shown how to build a house from OSB:

Every child needs his own personal space where he can play, dream, or just have fun with friends. You can build a playhouse from scrap materials, making your child’s cherished wish come true.

First of all, consult with your child and listen to his wishes: someone will like a complex house with a bunk bed, someone will want to play in a hut, and someone can even build a house in a tree or in the yard - there are a lot of options, but they must be weighed against one’s own capabilities.

Playhouse for children made from a cardboard box

The easiest and cheapest option is to make a playhouse for children. The main thing is to choose a thick and large cardboard box, for example, from under a refrigerator or washing machine. Windows and doors are cut in it using a stationery knife, and a roof is made from glued pieces of thick cardboard. It is better to draw the design of the future house on paper: if the child is already old enough, you can ask him to help decorate his own house.

The joints in the box must be properly glued with tape so that the structure does not fall apart during use. The junction of doors and windows with the walls also needs to be secured with tape or fabric tape, otherwise the cardboard will tear very quickly. As for the decor, you can use paints and pencils to create fantasy drawings with the whole family, cover the walls with old wallpaper, colored stickers, colored paper applications, and so on. Inside the house, you can even hang mini curtains and lay down a rug to keep your child warm.

You can make more complex architectural forms: use only the frame, and use separate pieces of cardboard to make a porch, roof, and even some furniture. You can make a whole palace out of several large boxes, and if the joints are properly reinforced, the structure will be collapsible. Large boxes are cut along the side joints, and then the corners are taped with wide masking tape. Furniture in the house can be made “built-in” (glue the table to the walls, and make chairs from small folding boxes).

Playhouse-hut

To play, you can sew a small tent or hut from fabric. We will need a frame and an old sheet or bedspread. The hut can be collapsible or stationary, so it is suitable for a children's room of any size. The basis will be long wooden beams or PVC pipes (5 pieces), 1.7-1.8 meters long, they can be purchased at any hardware store. The beams are sanded and painted so that the child does not accidentally scratch himself or get a splinter. We make a base in the form of a pentagon from planks or strong wire, attach a beam to each corner, and then collect it from above into a bundle and tie it tightly with rope or wire.

We cut the sheet in the form of a semicircle with a small hole; it can be secured to the frame with ties. You should put a soft rug or mattress on the floor, and place a table lamp or lampshade inside.

We offer you a step-by-step master class on another hut that you can make with your own hands without much effort. To do this you will need 3 round bars, 4 wooden planks for the frame, a pencil, a drill, a tape measure, finishing fabric, thread, and scissors.

First, it would be good to make at least a rough drawing of a wooden house: it’s one thing if it’s a shelter for one child, another thing if it’s for a group of friends.

From the top and bottom edges of each of the 4 planks (their length is approximately 160-170 cm), mark 15 or 20 cm. At the mark site, drill holes for the round bars. The planks need to be placed in pairs in a row to check that the holes match.

After this, you can sew the fabric (its length should be 10-15 cm greater than the height of the house). We leave holes in the lower edges of the canvas into which round bars will be inserted. You can also provide special fastenings (loops, elastic bands, Velcro), but this is more troublesome. By the way, it is better to choose a light, translucent fabric, then it will transmit more light.

You can start assembling the children's house. We insert the lower edges of the round bars into the canvas and secure them well on top with wire, a large screw or rope. We put a mattress, pillows, and rug inside the house to make it cozy and comfortable at any time of the year.

By the way, the basis of a small tent may well be a gymnastic hoop, but such a tent is mainly attached to the ceiling using a metal hook. You can simply build a hut on a wire frame. To do this, we make a rectangle and then cover it with fabric. You can decorate the “windows” with curtains, decorate the frame with colored appliqués, make a folding door, shelves for toys. Of course, such a design will take up a lot of space, but your child will really like it.

Here are some more interesting variations of children's houses. The simplest one is to make a small dome over the bed, which can be removed at night and installed as needed. The dome can be made on flexible arches from an unnecessary tourist tent or an old educational rug.

In the garden, you can use the mesh to make a base for climbing plants, and as a result you will get a pretty decent hut for your summer cottage.

Some craftsmen even manage to make a house out of plastic bottles by gluing them together. Of course, a friendly company will not fit in such a house, but for one child it is quite a suitable solution!

Corner complex for children's games

You can build a whole complex for children by placing it in the corner of the room. To do this, we make a frame from wooden slats.

The walls can be made of plywood or plasterboard sheets screwed to the frame with self-tapping screws. It is better to make steps from wood or metal sheets; they can withstand heavy loads.

It is better to make the floor on the “second floor” from chipboard; the entire structure will be supported by screws or bolts.

We cover the outside of the house with plasterboard. If desired, you can even wire it inside or limit yourself to one stationary lamp (table).

From three bars we make the basis for the railings, onto which we stuff planks so that the house becomes not only beautiful, but also safe.

Now we arm ourselves with paints and paint the children's corner. The steps and floor can be covered with carpet.

Wooden playhouses for children in the country

To build a small but cozy playhouse you will need: 6 boards 1.8x2.4 m with a section of 50x75 mm, 4 processed beams, 1.8 m long, section 10x10 cm, 6 beams, 2.4 m long (section 5x10 cm ), 1 beam, 2.4 m long, section 50x75 mm, 1 beam 2.4 m long, section 25x75 mm, 1 roll of roofing felt, 1 box of screws 75 mm, 2 boxes of screws 30 mm, tar paper nails, stain, thin planks . You will also need the following tools: hydraulic level, tamper, shovel, hammer, screwdriver, hammer, circular saw, utility knife, paint brush.

Of course, ideally it would be nice to make a minimal foundation of crushed stone, but you can simply level the soil surface. The 100x100 mm beams need to be cut into equal parts (you choose the length yourself), the distance between the two posts should be 1.4-1.5 meters.

Also presented here are drawings that make it easy to build a wooden house for a child in an open area.

The importance of building a children's playhouse

A small child is already a person. And the period of childhood is preparation for future adult life. The baby reproduces the actions of his parents and acquaintances, as if projecting them on a reduced scale. Therefore, a wooden one in the yard or in the country will become one of his favorite places to stay. This is a unique opportunity to create for the baby his own world, isolated from adults.

In a children's toy home, you can install miniature furniture, dishes, hang curtains, and even prepare bedding. Kids will be happy to receive guests there, play, eat and even sleep during the day.

Adults who decide to make a miniature toy home for their child are faced with the question: what is the best material to build a house from? In principle, a building can be quickly built from cardboard boxes or, by digging several slats into the ground, stretch film, oilcloth, fabric or wallpaper over them. But such a “dwelling” is like a straw house from a fairy tale about the three little pigs - bad weather and wind can destroy it in an instant.

Buying plastic components for a miniature building at the dacha is the easiest way out. However, this material can hardly be called particularly durable. This means that the building itself will not last long.

Some build structures made of brick or natural stone on the site. It's quite creative and beautiful. But stone, although it is stronger and more durable compared to other materials, requires additional finishing, since it is quite heat-intensive.

It is undesirable to use fiberboard or chipboard sheets for construction, despite the fact that suppliers prove their environmental friendliness, because after all, they are made using varnishes, adhesives, synthetic resins, and various other fillers. Yes, and they do not shine with special strength, and in a place open to precipitation, the process of warping is inevitable.

That is why it is best to build a children's wooden house. For children, you can build a log or plank structure.

Advantages of wooden buildings for children

The most environmentally friendly materials are considered to be wood or stone. In addition, unlike stone and brick buildings, wooden buildings do not require additional finishing. This means that the construction will cost less and will be completed faster. Moreover, a pine wooden house for a child also has a positive effect on his health.

The advantage of building a miniature play dwelling is also that you can use the remains from the construction of the necessary outbuildings. And even in the case when there is no need to have a wooden playhouse for children, it is used as a storage room or an original gazebo. There is an option to convert it even into a beautiful chicken coop or a place for cages with rabbits, chinchillas or arctic foxes.

Basic principles when building a house for a child

The most important condition is the safety of children. Therefore, you should consider calculating both the location of the structure and its strength. It is best to dig and cement logs (piles), onto which boards for the walls will subsequently be laid and the roof attached.

It is important to check that no nails or screws are protruding. The boards themselves must also be well processed so that children cannot get hurt or get a splinter in their arm, leg or back.

If the house is portable or collapsible, it is worth considering its fastening so that it does not turn over, fall over, or fall apart. Therefore, in this case, stationary buildings are less dangerous.

Ideas for children's wooden houses on the site

First of all, the builder-designer must decide on the dimensions of the building. Its appearance will also be important factors. The choice of type of construction determines what the wooden house for the child will be like and how it will fit into the site.

For example, a good solution for an uneven surface with slopes and ravines would be a play complex consisting of several interconnected passages, bridges, and staircases, some of which will be two-story, and others one-story.

The wooden gazebos located on the roof are very convenient, where adults can drink tea, chat or play lotto in the evening. The kids have so much fun climbing the ladder into their toy home! A plastic slide that kids can slide down will add functionality to this structure.

Fairy-tale style houses

You can decorate the entire area in a fantasy style. The small house will be only part of the overall solution. And the entire territory can be decorated in the form of a Flower Town, where Dunno lived, with miniature ponds and huge mushrooms.

And the option of a gnome village can also attract designers who decide to build a wooden one on their site. The drawings of the building itself are quite simple. For a craftsman familiar with a saw, hammer, nails and plane, building such a house will not be difficult.

An interesting option for a “crooked” house. It can be stylized as the home of Baba Yaga, a forest sorcerer, a gnome or another fairy-tale character.

"Crooked" house - construction plan

Bringing this creative idea to life is a little more difficult. Only two opposite walls are identical in this wooden house for children. The drawing reflects this feature of the structure.

Part A is the front wall. Without a cutout for the front door, this will already be the back wall of the house. You should pay attention to the fact that all sides of the part differ in size, so they are indicated in the drawing by different letters. The part itself has only one right angle.

The side wall adjacent to the right angle has the shape of a rectangle (detail 2), the vertical sides of which are equal to the side of the front wall (c).

The wall opposite to it (detail 3) is also rectangular. The vertical side should be the same size as the beveled side of the front wall (c). The presented drawing shows a version of a house with a square floor, but if desired, you can make it rectangular.

Parts 4 and 5 are the roof. The sides of the rectangles are indicated by letters corresponding to their sizes. However, it should be taken into account that if you decide to make visors, you need to add a few centimeters to them.

If you follow the instructions for building children's houses, apply diligence and patience, you can build a wonderful building quite quickly and efficiently.

How to make a children's playhouse with your own hands

We begin the construction of the playhouse with the floor frame. We mount the base, align it diagonally, reinforce it with a middle beam and metal corners.

We choose a flat place for the house and, using the frame, mark the 4 corner points necessary for the improvised foundation.

To give the house greater stability, we lay the floor frame on 4 foundation blocks. We level the blocks with a sand bed in the recesses for 1 shovel bayonet. We lay a layer of waterproofing between the frame and the foundation.

We sew up the floor frame with boards to create a strong, even floor.

When the floor is ready, we process it from the ground side and begin installing the wall frame with windows and an entrance.

Important: To prevent children from getting splinters and cuts, you should use only jointed material and remove all chamfers on open corners: on frame bars - with a plane, on metal reinforcement corners - with a grinder.

We mark the rafter template on the work surface. We attach the rafter bars to the working surface (nail with 2 nails, but not completely, leaving a gap for removing the nails). After this, we sew in the rafter and cut it according to the template, strengthening all corners and joints with metal corners, and only after that we remove the temporary nails.

We attach the finished rafters (3 pieces) to the frame with a temporary jib (an inclined support beam), align them plumb, and then connect them to the wall frame with metal beam holders.

When the frame is ready, you can begin covering it with clapboard.

Following the walls, we sheathe the roof with edged boards - we sew the ridge boards on both sides, remove the temporary jibs and then sew up the entire roof. We cut the top with ondulin and install the ondulin ridge. By the way, cutting ondulin is very convenient with a grinder with a cutting disc.

Since our house should be childlike, elegant and positive, we decorate the end of the roof and window openings with carved platbands, which can be purchased ready-made, we cut in window sills, and sew up the corners of the house with a smooth figured corner.

Inside the house, don’t forget to arrange several tables and benches for children.

In general, the house is ready, all that remains is to paint it in bright colors and show it to the children!
