After purchasing new equipment, the question always arises: what to do with the old one, for example, with a gas stove. It often happens that they replace an obsolete model that is still in working order. You can take her to Vacation home or to the dacha and attach it to a cylinder or simply give it through an advertisement to people who need it. And if you show a little imagination and think about what you can do for a dacha from an old gas stove, several interesting solutions come to mind.

Don’t rush to throw away old things – you can give them a second life

Second life of an old gas stove

Home craftsmen have always been famous for their ideas; they have learned to benefit even from a gas stove. If it is not in working order and there is no way to dispose of it, and you cannot simply throw it in the trash according to the law, we offer several DIY options.

Only special services should dispose of the stove

Gas stove cabinet

To do this, you need to refine the facade and side walls. First of all, remove old paint, clean and apply a new coat. Any colored aerosol intended for coloring will do. metal surfaces. Or you can use the decoupage technique, you will get a rare thing that will immediately attract attention.

First, before starting work, you need to dismantle the burners and close all the holes. The thermal insulation in the stove is quite good, so it is quite possible to store various cereals, flour and sugar in it on the balcony or at the dacha.

Using a can of spray paint you can give the surface any shade.

Waste incineration container

Ash in summer cottages is worth its weight in gold, it’s wonderful mineral fertilizer for feeding many crops. When burning garbage on a regular fire, it is quite difficult to collect the ash later, and there is not always room for this. Therefore, a special waste incinerator will come in handy.

For this purpose, preparatory work is carried out.

  1. The burners, all pipeline elements, thermal insulation and plastic parts are dismantled.
  2. The glass is removed from the oven door and replaced with a regular sheet of tin.
  3. A hole is cut out on the back panel and an elbow with a pipe is inserted into it.
  4. Under the oven you need to assemble a grate from bricks and grates.

This creates a simple and completely safe waste incinerator for a summer residence, on the top surface of which you can heat water while burning waste.

Ash – excellent feeding for plants

Gas stove grill

In order to make a barbecue from a stove, it will take a little more effort. First you need to carry out all the manipulations, as for the incinerator, and additionally cut off the cooking surface.

  1. In place of the panel, install a grill, which can be taken, for example, from the gas stove itself or from an old refrigerator. Subsequently, skewers with meat, fish or vegetables will be placed on it.
  2. On the back wall at the top of the oven, cut a hole with a diameter of about 100 mm, into which a metal pipe should then be inserted.
  3. Make several holes in the utility drawer under the oven for ventilation.
  4. Leave 1 baking sheet in the oven and place a grate above it on which the wood will burn.
  5. After the wood burns, the coal will fall onto the baking sheet, which is then easily cleaned.

If the grille is larger than needed, you can trim it yourself.

DIY smokehouse from an old gas stove

Dishes prepared in a smokehouse have a unique taste that is loved by many.

For a future smokehouse from an old gas stove, you will need many of its elements:

  • you will need a wire rack to store food;
  • a baking tray is needed to collect fat;
  • all grooves in the block walls or guides will be used for their intended purpose: for extending grates and baking sheets;
  • thermal insulation oven will maintain the required thermal conditions inside the smokehouse;
  • sealing rubber bands are needed to ensure the tightness of the chamber.

It is important to thoroughly clean the internal surfaces after each smoking.

In order for the smokehouse to last for a long time, you need to follow the required food processing regime and the correct approach to supplying smoke.

From old equipment you can make two different smokehouses, which differ from each other only in the principle of fuel loading; we will consider both options.

The principle of operation of the smokehouse

Adding fuel to the bottom of the chamber

This conversion option is simpler; the entire sequence of work is very easy and does not take much time.

  1. It is necessary to dismantle the oven door and insert a metal panel in its place.
  2. Take off gas burner, a fire pit will be built instead.
  3. Drill 2-5 holes with a diameter of 1.5-2.5 cm on the bottom side surfaces; they will serve as a smoke exhaust.
  4. Similar holes should be made in the upper part of the panels. Thus, smoke removal will occur both from below and from above.
  5. Place a baking sheet filled with sawdust over an open fire, and above it a baking sheet on which the fat will collect. The grate with food should be placed in the middle of the smokehouse.

It turned out simple design, ready for use. It is necessary to note several disadvantages of this equipment:

  • it is difficult to regulate smoke distribution;
  • You cannot prepare cold smoked dishes;
  • You cannot quickly reduce the heating temperature. This can lead to accelerated smoldering of wood chips and ignition of accumulated fat, and accordingly, the food stash will be spoiled.

Wood chips add a special aroma to products during smoking.

Equipment with a smoke generator

The step-by-step process of equipping a smokehouse with a smoke generator is somewhat more complicated than the previous one.

Smokehouse equipment

  1. First, you should drill a hole from the bottom of only one side wall with a diameter of 2.5-3 cm, which is intended for supplying smoke.
  2. Then insert the water pipe into it and secure with 2 nuts.
  3. Repeat all manipulations on the opposite side, only on its upper part. It is necessary to remove excess smoke and regulate the pressure inside the smokehouse.
  4. Screw a tap onto the outlet section of the pipe. You can choose a ball or cork design. With its help, processes inside the chamber are regulated.

Be sure to install a thermometer inside the camera with a scale from 170° to 200°.

Necessary elements and equipment

To make an ejector-type smoke generator you will need:

  • pipe with a section of 3/4 inch;
  • pipe with a cross-section of 9-13 cm, the length of the segment should be 50-70 cm;
  • a pipe whose internal cross-section is 0.6-0.7 cm;
  • neck with 3/4 nut;
  • union;
  • steel sheet up to 5 mm thick;
  • screws M 6 – M 10;
  • wing washers;
  • connecting hose;
  • air compressor, you can use an aquarium aerator instead

with a capacity of about 60 liters per hour.

Compressor for smoke generator

Making a smoke generator

The assembly sequence is as follows.

  1. Cut a circle from steel sheet, its diameter must be equal to the internal section big pipes.
  2. Drill up to 25 holes in the circle.
  3. Weld a circle inside the pipe, the distance from the edge should be at least 2 cm. This element will work as a grate.
  4. Weld a screw from inside the pipe and put a round-sized cap on it. This part will serve as an ash pan in the future.
  5. Above, at some distance from the grate, drill a hole with a cross-section of 1-1.2 cm; it will subsequently be used for igniting wood chips.
  6. At a distance of 5 cm from the top border of the smoke generator, drill 2 holes opposite each other.
  7. Solder to the 1st resulting hole outlet pipe 3/4, to the 2nd - a thin diameter pipe with a fitting. In this case, inside the structure, the 1st pipe should overlap the 2nd at a distance of up to 2 centimeters.
  8. Connect the compressor or air generator through a hose to the fitting.
  9. The neck should be welded to the outlet pipe, then the entire structure should be connected with an overhead nut.

The principle of a smokehouse with a smoke generator is as follows: the air flow, after the wood chips are lit and the compressor is turned on, captures the smoke and directs it inside the smokehouse oven. The main advantage of such a chamber is that you can perform both hot and cold smoking of products.

Smoke generator design

Conclusion

There is no need to rush to throw away old things, even if they no longer work. You can always use people's councils and do something useful in household or at summer cottage. Giving things a second life is a simple and quite exciting process, and subsequently you can be proud of your skills.

IN homemade smokehouse you can cook any food with aromatic smoke

DIY tourist gas stove in 10 steps

I avid tourist and I know from experience that sometimes on a hike you need a small gas stove. And now I’ll tell you how I make tiles using improvised materials.

Step 1: Tools and Materials

I will need:

  • a can of soda or beer;
  • stationery knife or razor;
  • scissors;
  • scotch;
  • a bottle opener that can be used to cut off the lid of a jar;
  • ruler;
  • thick book;
  • a flat screwdriver or file (the can will have to be bent);
  • something with which you will pierce the jar from the inside (a nail will do);
  • permanent marker;
  • sandpaper;
  • drawing pin.

Step 2: Marking the Top

Using a book, I secure the blade at any height.

  1. Carefully place the razor or knife blade into the book (5 cm from the bottom edge of the book).
  2. I fix the blade: I press on it in the direction of the spine.
  3. I hold the can and turn it so that it stays deep scratch(but I don’t cut all the way through).
  4. I press down on the blade and cut the can into two parts.

Step 3: Trim the Top of the Can

I've finished working on the bottom of the jar and can start working on the top (it will be on the inside).

  1. I cut off the lid using a bottle opener. I also grab the walls of the jar up to 3 cm.

Attention! I don’t throw away the lid, it will come in handy!

  1. Using a marker, I draw 16 lines or dots on the top of the jar, equidistant from each other, from edge to edge.
  2. I take a screwdriver or similar tool and bend the can along the lines so that the folds look like in the photo.
  3. Then I make cuts along the folds (1 cm deep)

Step 4: creating a ring

After that, I take the lid and remove the burrs with sandpaper. I measure 3-5 millimeters from the outer edge and cut off the insides to make a ring.

Step 5: Assembling the tiles

I insert the ring into the bottom of the jar as shown in the photo. I insert the top part inside. I press on the ring from the sides so that there are no gaps. There remains a protrusion on top, about 2 mm - I’m not doing anything with it yet.

Step 6: Forming the Overhang

In the previous step I left a 2mm overhang. Now I bend it inward. First with my hands, then I iron everything with a marker.

Step 7: Punching a Hole

Now I take a nail and punch holes in the jar near the very top but below the ring. I punch 24 holes in total.

To do them at the same distance, I use the following technique

  • I wrap the jar with a strip of paper and cut the paper so that the edges of the strip barely meet;
  • I remove the strip, take a ruler and mark points on the strip at equal distances from each other (first I divide in half, then in half again, and so on until I get 12-24 points);
  • I put it on the jar and mark it. I punch the holes and move on to the next step.

Important! To make neat holes after the nail, without punching the jar all the way, I use a push pin.

Step 8: Shaping the Appearance

I get rid of paint using sandpaper No. 400. I make several V-shaped cuts on top for air. Otherwise, when dishes are placed on the oven, they may block the air flow.

Step 9: Launch

Role-playing game is the main type of play for a preschool child.
The main source that feeds a child’s role-playing game is the world around him, the life and activities of adults.
The main feature of a role-playing game is the presence of an imaginary situation in it, which consists of a plot and roles.
In games, children try on different social roles, form a scale of values for themselves, learn to build relationships with others.
In order to enrich the subject-development environment in the group and on the kindergarten site, a stove was made. It is convenient because it can be carried, i.e. the stove is mobile. It is compact and does not take up much space. For its manufacture, improvised materials were required. The manufacturing process is not complicated. The plate can be made according to your design project.

To work you need:
Scissors
A simple pencil or pen, ruler
Stationery knife
Colored self-adhesive paper
Shoe box big size
Mayonnaise lids (4 pieces)
Gouache jars (4 pieces)
Glue moment
Glue gun

Step-by-step process for completing the work:

1. To work, we will need circle templates of different sizes.

2. Take the 4th mayonnaise lids.

3. Using template No. 1, cut out 4 circles from red self-adhesive paper.

4. Glue them onto mayonnaise lids.

5. Take a shoebox and place it on the back edge so that the front surface is in front of us. We take a gouache jar, place it at a distance of about 7 cm from the edge and trace the bottom. The lower part of the jar is smaller in diameter than the upper part, and the shape is circle.

Circle the bottom of the jar 4 times. We get 4 circles, they are at an equal distance from each other. The distance can be adjusted according to your wishes. On the right, the distance was also maintained, according to symmetry, 7 cm.

6. We took a utility knife and cut out the first hole on the left. You need to cut it carefully, adhering to the inner rim of the circle.

We cut out the remaining holes. There were 4 of them.

7. We took 4 gouache jars, washed them and dried them.

8. Close the jars with lids. Using template No. 2, 4 circles were cut out of self-adhesive paper. One circle turned out to be red, and the other 3 circles were brown.

9. Glued the circles to the top surfaces of the lids.

10. Turn the box upside down. There are inscriptions on it, we will hide them using self-adhesive film.

I chose gray self-adhesive paper.
We took self-adhesive paper and drew a rectangle with sides 23x34 cm on the reverse side. We will need 2 of these rectangles.

11. Glued one of the rectangles to the bottom edge, hiding all the letters and drawings.

Thus, the top edge was also decorated.

12. It’s time to decorate and hide the shortcomings of the side surfaces of the box. To do this, cut it out of self-adhesive paper gray 2 rectangles with sides 3x22 cm.

13. Glued one of the rectangles to the rim of the lid on one side to hide the letters. You could leave it and not stick anything else on this side.

We glued the second rectangle to the opposite side of the box and also to the rim of the lid. It turned out that this side is not as good as the first side face. Therefore, it is necessary to cover it with self-adhesive paper to hide all the errors.

14. For symmetry, prepare 2 rectangles of gray self-adhesive paper with sides 8.5x23.5 cm on both side faces.

15. Decorate the problem area on one side.

And glue the second rectangle on the other side.

16. Open the lid, take the glue moment. We need to glue the lid to the base of the box so that the top surface does not open.

Apply glue to the rims of the lid.

17. Close the lid and press the rims to the base of the box so that they stick.

18. Insert the jar with the red lid into the left hole. We specially cut holes along the inner rim of the circles so that the jars - the handles of the stove - were attached more firmly, and not loosely and did not turn.

Insert the remaining 3 jars.

19. My jars are firmly attached. But to be sure that the children would not pull them out during the game, I decided to glue the jars. I pulled out the jars and turned each one over reverse side and coated the protruding part (the rim of the lid) with glue.

I inserted each jar back into the holes and pressed it down. The rim of the lid of each jar came into contact with the cardboard base and stuck.
The handles on the stove are ready.

The company icon remains on this face at the bottom right. I decided not to remove it. Our toy stove will also have a brand name.

20. Place burners - mayonnaise lids - on the top surface and see what the hob will look like. Now you can glue them one by one.

I tried to glue it with instant glue, but the adhesion was weak.
21. We took a glue gun.

22. Apply hot glue to the back of the mayonnaise lid.

23. Glued it to hob slabs, positioned at the top left, approximately 6 cm from the edge.

Thus, we glued the second cover, placing it symmetrically (relative to the right edge) at the top right.

We glued the remaining covers at the bottom, trying to place them symmetrically under the top covers at an equal distance from them.

24. The plate for the game is ready.

Rear view of the slab

Summer time is coming, children will spend a lot of time on fresh air. We will use the slab as a portable material when organizing role-playing games. The game will require another wash. They also made it on their own. For this we took a table. They placed him on the veranda close to the wall. We cut out a hole for the pelvis. The mixer was installed. One of the parents helped carry out this type of work.

What to make from old washing machine and gas stove

Gas stove

It made a practical outdoor stove! Removed everything unnecessary. I cut out two holes with a grinder: one for a saucepan (frying pan), the second for a pipe for draft (photo 2). Firewood is burned on a grate inside the housing. The traction is great! The soup cooks for 20-25 minutes. If necessary, the stove can easily be turned into a barbecue by placing a metal box on top for burning wood.

DIY miracle forks

I offer a tool that I made about 20 years ago and called it “combined forks.”

With the advent of such forks (see photo), neither a shovel nor an ordinary fork will be needed. They are easy to work with both on dry and damp soil. The earth does not stick to them, the roots in the ground are cut freely, which cannot be done with a pitchfork, and it is difficult to work with a shovel, especially for older people.

Do-it-yourself homemade mole repeller

To fight moles, I took a metal tube with a diameter of 20 mm (can be from ski pole or a piece of reinforcement 70-100 cm long), two metal beer cans and 20-25 cm wire. I make a hole in the bottom of the can so that water does not accumulate in them during rain, the cans are lighter.

I thread the ends of the wire into the top of the cans and secure them (like a hook), and insert the middle of the wire into the hole of a metal tube (or you can wrap it over the fittings). In any wind, the cans hit the metal tube (fittings) and make a ringing noise. There is a “bell ringing” in the area that scares away moles. I have a plot of 6 acres. I arrange these structures in groups of 3-4 pieces. along the perimeter of the site. There have been no traces of moles for two years now.

Many people sooner or later decide to buy a brand new kitchen stove, which, thanks to technological progress, has become several times smarter and more effective than its predecessor. But along with this, they are faced with the question of what to do with the old one? Very often, the stove is simply sent to a landfill, but by showing imagination and applying some skills, it can be given a second life as many useful things for the home.

One way to get rid of your old gas stove is to recycle it. It should be noted that this method is not the simplest. The fact is that you first need to obtain permission from the city authorities to dismantle the slab. Only gas service specialists can turn off a gas stove, since it is a particularly dangerous piece of equipment. If any gas remains in the stove, it may explode during disposal. Dismantling electric stove it happens much simpler, but it is also necessary to observe certain rules security.

Then the slab will need to be delivered to the disposal site. In big cities today there are organizations that provide free services for the removal of large-sized household appliances. In this case, you will not receive any monetary reward for your stove, but you will also not spend money on loaders and transport.

At the recycling point, the slab is disassembled into separate parts, which are sent for recycling:

  • The metal case is pressed using a special machine to the size of a small box. Then this metal is sent to a metallurgical plant, where it is melted down;
  • The glass door is thoroughly cleaned of dirt and crushed. Next, the glass chips are sent to a special furnace for remelting, and new glass products are formed from the resulting mass;
  • The plastic elements of the slab are sent to a special crushing unit. The resulting plastic granules are also melted down and used to make secondary products.

After recycling, the amount of waste sent to landfill is reduced from 96 to 7 percent. Therefore, correct disposal will certainly minimize the harmful effects household waste on the ecosystem and is economically feasible.

If you decide to scrap the stove, you should know that it weighs approximately 50 kg. The cost of one kilogram of scrap is 4-9 rubles. Respectively, By scrapping the slab, you can get 200-450 rubles. Agree, the amount is not that big, and this is provided that you independently deliver the slab to the scrap metal collection point. Sometimes scrap metal collectors can be called to your home, but on the condition that you are going to hand over more than 50 kg of old metal.

Reincarnation of the kitchen stove

It often happens that the old stove is in working condition, so you don’t want to sell it for metal. In this case, the stove can be sent to the country. If there is no gas pipeline at the dacha, then after a little modification it can be connected to gas cylinder. You can try to sell your unwanted stove by posting an ad on websites that buy and sell used items. Many people prefer not to sell, but to give it away for free and thus help those people who find themselves in a difficult life situation.

A non-functional stove can be painted and used as a small cabinet or chest for storing various things. This unit has quite decent thermal insulation. Therefore, it is enough to close the holes in the hob to get an excellent pantry for storing cereals or root vegetables. Such a “storage room” can even be placed on the balcony.

Stove incinerator

Often, garbage in the country becomes the number one problem. Most summer residents try to burn garbage and use the ash as fertilizer. But burning garbage using a fire is not always convenient: sometimes the wind carries burning ashes, sometimes it’s damp around, sometimes the plants near the fire wither. When using a waste incinerator, all these problems disappear.

To turn an old stove into an incinerator, it is necessary to dismantle all burners, pipelines, thermal insulation, plastic fittings. The glass in the door should be replaced with a metal sheet. An elbow with a pipe is cut into the back wall of the oven, and a grate made of grate and bricks is assembled under the oven. As a result of these simple transformations we get a small but safe incinerator, on which you can even heat something during the combustion of garbage, for example, water for washing dishes or laundry.

Stove grill

Converting a stove into a barbecue is very simple. To do this, you need to remove all unnecessary elements and cut hob. Instead, you should install a grill on which skewers with meat will be placed in the future. For this you can use any metal grill, for example, a lattice shelf from an old refrigerator. Initially, the grille does not have to fit in size. If necessary, it can be trimmed.

In the upper part of the back wall of the oven you need to make a hole with a diameter of about 10 cm and insert it into it metal pipe. Ventilation holes should be made in the lower part, which was previously used to store dishes. We leave one baking sheet in the oven, above which we place a grate on which the wood will be burned. After burning, the coals will fall onto a baking sheet, which is very easy to remove and empty of ash.

Smokehouse from a stove

Long shelf life and specific taste are the main advantages of smoked products. You can make a smokehouse for their preparation with your own hands, using an old kitchen stove. Excellent for making a smoking chamber source material may become an oven from an old electric or gas stove.

Many oven elements are already ready-made solutions, which can be used in a future design:

  • wire racks and baking trays are useful for storing food or collecting fat;
  • grooves on the side surfaces or telescopic guides can be used, as in the oven, to pull out baking sheets;
  • thermal insulation elements provide support required temperature inside the smokehouse;
  • seals will provide the necessary tightness.

It should be noted that the body elements of the plate and their coating are designed for fairly high temperatures, so the smokehouse will not be deformed, but provided the right approach to the supply of smoke and subject to the processing regime. Since the internal surfaces of ovens are relatively easy to clean, It will be possible to put products of any origin into the smokehouse: meat, fish, fruits, vegetables.

From old stove You can make two types of smokehouses, differing in the principle of laying wood chips or any other source of smoke. This may be a design with backfill at the bottom of the chamber or with a smoke generator. The first type of smokehouse is considered easier to manufacture, as it requires a minimum number of operations performed by hand.

Smokehouse with fuel poured into the bottom of the chamber

First you need to replace glass door ovens metal panel, and also dismantle the gas burner (when using a gas stove). At the bottom of the oven you need to build a fireplace for making a fire. In the lower part of the side surfaces, 3-5 holes with a diameter of 20-25 mm are drilled for air flow. A hole must also be made in the upper part to remove exhaust smoke.

This smokehouse is quite simple to make, but has a number of disadvantages that limit its functionality:

  • difficulty in adjusting smoke distribution;
  • impossibility of cold smoking;
  • high heating inertia (it is impossible to quickly reduce the temperature), which can cause too intense smoldering of wood chips or ignition of fat and, consequently, spoilage of food.

Smokehouse with smoke generator

First, at the bottom of one of the side walls of the oven a hole with a diameter of 25-30 mm is drilled, which will subsequently be used to supply smoke. A standard water pipe is inserted into this hole and secured with two nuts. The same operations are performed on the opposite wall, but the hole should be located not at the bottom, but at the top.

When operating the smokehouse, this hole will be used to dump overpressure in the chamber and removing excess smoke. A plug or ball valve is screwed onto the outlet end of the pipe, which is necessary to regulate the ongoing smoking process. To control the temperature in the chamber, a thermometer with a gradation of up to 170-200 degrees is installed. After making the smokehouse, we begin assembling the smoke generator.

To make an ejector-type generator, you need to stock up on:

  • pipe with a diameter of ¾ inches;
  • a pipe with a diameter of 90-130 mm and a length of 500-700 mm;
  • pipe with an internal diameter of 6-7 mm;
  • neck with union nut ¾;
  • fitting;
  • metal sheet 3-5 mm thick;
  • screws M6-M10;
  • wing nuts;
  • connecting hose;
  • air compressor. An aquarium aerator with a capacity of approximately 60 l/hour can be used as a compressor.

First we cut from metal sheet circle corresponding internal diameter big pipe. We drill 20-25 small holes in it and weld it inside the pipe, 2-3 cm away from its edge. The result is a kind of sieve, which will subsequently serve as a grate. We weld a screw to the inner wall of the pipe, onto which we put round lid, which will subsequently serve as an ash pit.

A hole with a diameter of 10-12 mm is drilled slightly above the grate for igniting wood chips. Next, you need to make two holes opposite each other, retreating 4-5 cm from the top edge of the smoke generator. We weld a 3/4 outlet pipe to one of them, and a thin pipe with a fitting to the second. The first pipe should be located inside the structure and extend into the second to a depth of 1-2 cm. A compressor is connected to the fitting through a hose. We weld the neck to the outlet pipe and connect the entire structure with a union nut.

A stream of air after igniting the wood chips and turning on the compressor captures the smoke and directs it into the smoking chamber. With the help of such a smokehouse you can carry out both hot and cold processing of products.

conclusions

An old stove thrown into a landfill poses a great danger to the environment. Therefore, it is better not to throw it away, but try to make something useful out of it for your home or garden. Moreover, this way of using unnecessary equipment will help improve the environmental situation in the country at least a little.
