We spend almost a third of our lives sleeping. And our faithful pillow friend keeps us company. Like any bedding, it needs cleaning and washing from time to time. Even if you change often bed sheets, dust particles and small specks still penetrate into it, and dust mites appear in down and feather pillows. Probably, few people decide to wash their pillows themselves for fear of ruining them. It's not so scary, although you will have to tinker.

General rules for washing pillows

Before you start washing, it is important to find out what fabric its shell is made of and what makes up the “filling” - the type of filler; this will determine how to wash this or that product.

The shells are made of teak - a dense cotton material that does not allow feathers to pass through; on pillows with synthetic fillers, the fabric is synthetic. There are also silk, wool and other covers. Information about the shell and filling is on the label sewn to the pillow.

Types of fillers

  • natural (down, feather, wool, bamboo, silk);
  • synthetic (sintepon, hallofiber, polyester and others);
  • organic (buckwheat husk, grass and others).

In our age of abundance household appliances, the washing process is greatly simplified. It is enough to place the pillow in the automatic machine, and it will do the rest for us. But here there are some nuances that you need to know. Pillows with natural and synthetic fillings are machine washable; washing with organic fillings is unacceptable.

In an automatic washing machine

  • set the “delicate” or “hand wash” mode; for products made from down and feathers there is a special mode with a feather icon;
  • washing temperature is not higher than 30-40 degrees;
  • We use a gel product, the powder is washed out less easily;
  • when using powder, you will need half as much as with regular washing;
  • We do not use conditioner; instead, add a few drops of aromatic oil;
  • set the additional rinse mode;
  • set spin to 600 rpm;
  • When washing products made from down, feathers and holofiber, add 2-3 tennis balls to the drum. This way the pillows stretch better and the filling clumps less.

Before washing the pillows, it is recommended to remove dust with a brush. If there are stains on the covering material, first apply a stain remover or oxygen bleach suitable for this fabric, and then place it in the drum.

The most troublesome thing is caring for products made from down and feathers.

How to wash feather and down pillows

Before washing, you need to trim the seam of the shell on one side and transfer the fluff (feather) into 2 or 3 thick pillowcases. This is necessary so that the filler spreads evenly and the machine drum does not become unbalanced during washing. Sew up the pillowcases carefully, otherwise during washing the fluff will get into the drum and clog the machine.

Place no more than two of these bags in the car, add tennis balls.

The napkins are washed separately in a mode and with a product suitable for this type of fabric.

After washing, pillowcases with down or feathers are dried by hanging them at one corner from a rope and periodically turning them over and kneading the contents. In summer it is better to do this fresh air under the sun's rays, ultraviolet light will also disinfect the filler.

In winter, pillows should be dried in a well-ventilated place, turning them over from time to time to ensure even drying.

The faster the down and feather dry, the better. From drying for a long time, the pillow may develop bad smell mold and mildew. Usually the pillow dries out within one to two days.

After complete drying, the filler is returned to the pillowcase.

Brave experimenters do not divide the contents of the pillow into several parts, but wash it entirely.

Every 2 years I take my feather pillows to the dry cleaner, and every 3-4 months I wash them myself, in a machine, add UniPooh, and set them to 30 degrees. The main thing is to dry it thoroughly :)

With bamboo filling

This filler is not afraid of machine washing, retaining all its properties under such influence. Wash full cycle, do not add bleach.

To dry, place the pillow on a horizontal surface, periodically fluffing and turning over.

With holofiber (comforel, synthetic down, e-ball, fillfiber, holofill), synthetic padding, silicone, etc.

Easily machine washable on synthetic mode. It is recommended to use only a liquid product; powder is difficult to wash out of synthetics. Place tennis balls in the drum.

Dry by laying on a rack, hanging in a net or on top of a clothes dryer; synthetics dry very quickly.

Advice! To better squeeze moisture out of the pillow, place a terry towel with it in the machine; it will absorb excess moisture.

Anti-stress pillows

The filler in them is polystyrene balls. They do not absorb odors and are not infected with mites. If nothing is spilled on the pillow, then simply replace the cover and pour the balls into it. But if necessary, machine washable.

The pillow is placed in a larger pillowcase, which is tied or sewn, otherwise there is a risk that the balls will get into the machine and damage it.

Washing is done in a delicate cycle, spinning at 600 rpm.

Dries horizontally.

Pillows with wool, silk, orthopedic memory foam, latex

Wool and silk should be dry cleaned.

Memory foam cannot be wetted; it hardens and loses its properties.

For latex, only manual processing is allowed; in a machine it loses its qualities.

Special pillows for pregnant women and children are washed with hypoallergenic gels. The method depends on the filler. As a rule, such pillows have a synthetic fill and are easy to wash. Do not use fabric softeners or strong-smelling fragrances!

Handwash

Hand washing is done in water at a temperature not exceeding 40 0 C mild remedy. There is no need to squeeze the pillow too much, just press and release.

When washing products with synthetic fillings, use towels to dry them. Wrap the pillow in towels and carefully roll them into a roll; most of the moisture will transfer to them.

Down and feather

For down and feathers, a wool product is suitable. You can use the following composition: 150 grams of grated soap and 1 teaspoon ammonia dissolve in 5 liters of water.

The filling of down and feather pillows is washed separately from the pillowcase. To do this, rip the diaper, pour the filler into soapy water and leave for 1.5-2 hours so that the dirt dissolves. Then the water is carefully drained, and the filler is washed under running water through a colander. If the fluff is very dirty, the process is repeated.

Place clean fluff in a large pillowcase or several and squeeze thoroughly. You can use a machine spin.

After this, dry it like after a machine wash.

Latex

Latex pillows should not be washed frequently. If you do this, then only use a mild agent at a low temperature. From time to time it is better to just rinse.

You should squeeze it by wrapping it in a towel and blotting it. Dry in the fresh air, avoiding direct contact sun rays, they destroy latex. In winter, you can use a fan.

Between washes, pillows need to be cleaned from time to time.

How to clean pillows

There is a dry cleaning service for down pillows, also called air cleaning. There the fluff is not only dried and freed from dirt and debris, but also disinfected with ultraviolet light. There you will be offered to replace the shell.

How it happens: video

If you want to clean your pillows efficiently and without hassle, use dry cleaning services. Home cleaning will not replace professional cleaning, but you can still do something.

All pillows must be shaken and fluffed daily to prevent the filling from caking. If possible, knock out the dust, it is better to do it outside, then vacuum it.

To get rid of mites and germs, steam your pillows. To do this, hang the pillow and treat it with a steam generator or iron it with a steamer.

This method is used to clean not only sleeping cushions, but also sofa cushions. If on sofa cushions stains appear, clean them first suitable means for cleaning furniture fabrics.

A few tips: dry it properly, remove odor + other secrets

  • in order to get rid of mites in feather pillows, treat feathers and down before washing with a solution of 400-500 grams of soap, 100 grams of ammonia and 1 teaspoon of powder boric acid in 10 liters of water. After drying, the feather must be sorted, freeing it from waste products of mites;
  • Airing and drying in the fresh air under the sun will help get rid of the smell from a down or feather pillow. If this does not help, use dry cleaning, which is described above;
  • A down or feather pillow may smell after washing if you wash it hot water. The protein contained in feathers and down gets baked, which is why the smell appears. Do not wash pillows at temperatures above 30-40 degrees;
  • if the pillow filling has not dried well, it will rot and rot, emitting an unpleasant odor, so it is very important to dry the pillows as quickly and thoroughly as possible;
  • To make the pillow dry faster, use a hairdryer. Direct the air stream to the wet areas, kneading and breaking up lumps with your free hand;
  • To create better air circulation during drying, turn on the fan.

Filling – horse hair Buckwheat husk
Bamboo Holofiber pillow
Synthetic padding for pillows Feather pillows

Please note that only the first two items are suitable for washing. As for organic fillers, they are simply replaced with fresh ones as they become dirty and last longer.

Pooh: pros and cons

It would seem that in our age, feather pillows should already be a thing of the past, because holofiber and other soft ones have appeared cozy materials. But despite this, part of the population is deliberately in no hurry to part with the pen. While the other is actively removing it from her interior.

Note that the last disadvantages of feather pillows can be easily eliminated - you only need timely, complete cleaning and care according to all the rules. In this case, the product will serve you for a long time and will not cause any trouble.

We will present you with cleaning options - how to wash feather pillows at home. Choose for yourself what suits you best.

Hands

Many of us don’t trust technology: washing feather filler is not an everyday machine activity. Well, it is possible to effectively clean a pillow manually.

We will need

Having figured out whether it is possible to wash feather pillow, let's move on to the process itself. For the process, first prepare the following:

  • A piece of gauze several meters long.
  • Liquid detergent ( It’s better to stick with something that’s designed for woolen items).
  • Fabric softener.
  • New pen covers.
  • Big basin.
  • A piece of cloth, cellophane, paper ( to unfold the pen).

Algorithm

Is everything at hand? Then here are the instructions for proper hand washing of the pen:

  1. From gauze " alive", but with a strong seam, having previously folded the material in several layers, sew several bags. 2-3 is enough for an average pillow.
  2. Carefully rip up the bedding so as not to create that cheerful, but unnecessary effect of feathers swirling around you.
  3. Carefully remove the entire feather from the case on a previously laid out large newspaper, cellophane, cloth.
  4. Divide the pillow filling into even piles - according to the number of gauze bags you sewed.
  5. Carefully transfer the feather to the gauze blanks, after which also “ veins» Sew up these bags. You can simply tie it tightly with thread or braid.
  6. Take a big basin, fill it warm water. Dilute liquid laundry detergent.

  1. Place the bags completely in water. How to wash feather pillows next? Carefully “squeeze”, squeeze, move in the water.
  2. As soon as you finish washing, the feather, sewn into gauze, needs to be rinsed thoroughly - do not be lazy to change several waters.
  3. During the final rinse, add a bottle of conditioner to the water.
  4. Once the washing is done, wring out the feather bags to your heart's content.
  5. Now drying. In summer, housewives are advised to place bags of feathers in the fresh air - on a windowsill, on a balcony. In winter, it is best to dry the filler on a radiator or near heating devices.
  6. During drying, do not forget to beat the bag and turn it over from time to time. This way it will be more uniform and faster.
  7. Once it becomes clear to you that the feathers are dry, it’s time to stuff the feather bed with them.

  1. Prepare for the procedure - spread a large cellophane cloth on the floor. You can use an unnecessary sheet for these purposes.
  2. Carefully open the gauze and covers, quickly and carefully, in small portions, transfer the feather from there to a new diaper.
  3. Even experienced professionals cannot complete this procedure without losing small feathers. Therefore, be prepared for the filler to lose some weight. The most convenient way to collect feathers scattered around the room is with a vacuum cleaner.
  4. When finished, sew the napkin by hand or with a machine stitch. Now all that remains is to put on a pillowcase and use the refreshed pillow.

Advice! You can tell that a feather pillow is “asking” to be washed by the appearance of an unpleasant, persistent odor.

Another way

You can wash a pillow, or rather a feather, according to this scheme:

  1. Carefully open the seam of the napkin in a draft-free room.
  2. Fill a bowl with warm water.
  3. Dissolve the detergent - it can be either liquid laundry detergent or shavings of regular laundry soap.
  4. Run the feather into the water in batches. This is done so that the filler does not stick together in lumps.
  5. How to wash feather pillows using this method? Leave to soak in soapy water for a couple of hours. This is enough to remove dirt, dust, and dead epidermis.
  6. Hands " stir it up» feathers to clean them better.
  7. Prepare a kitchen colander.
  8. Drain through it dirty water from the basin.

  1. There, in a colander, thoroughly rinse the feathers under running water.
  2. Fill the basin with water again and add detergent. The filler should be washed again.
  3. Drain the water in a familiar manner and rinse the pen again. Squeeze it out with your hands.

Machine washable

Many people are wondering, is it possible to machine wash feather pillows? Of course! Let's look at how to clean down and feather pillows in the washing machine.

Preparing the cover

You can wash the pillow filling as in a washing case specially purchased for this purpose ( approximately the same plan as in the photo), and creating a similar product with your own hands. Under no circumstances should the pillow be cleaned in a napkin - it simply will not be able to dry, it will lock up and become a breeding ground for mold and unpleasant odors. After that, there is only one way for her - to the trash heap.

  • The width of the needlework is the same as that of a regular bedstead. But in length it should be twice as long as the last one. For one pillow, two such covers are made.
  • Material: loose fabric. If you use gauze, use several layers - otherwise small feathers will come loose and clog the elements of the machine.
  • You can also use those small gauze bags that you have prepared for hand washing.

Washing algorithm

Feather and down pillows are completely machine washable. This procedure is no more difficult than hand washing. See for yourself:

  1. Spread the bedsheet, carefully remove its contents onto a previously spread newspaper, sheet, cellophane. At the same time, try to exclude drafts and any other strong and sudden air movements. Otherwise, you will have to collect the contents of the pillow throughout the apartment.
  2. Place the feather evenly into the prepared bags, sew them tightly “ veins».
  3. How to machine wash a feather pillow? Simply load the covers with filling into the drum of the washing machine.
  4. Set the washing program to delicate mode. Although we sewed up the feather bags tightly, there is no need to test their durability by hard cleaning in the machine. It’s great if your equipment is equipped with a special mode for washing down products.
  5. The water temperature is no higher than 40 degrees.

  1. The spin speed is the lowest that your machine is capable of.
  2. Set it to double rinse. Don't forget to add conditioner before the last cycle.
  3. Detergent - liquid, the same as for hand washing - intended for woolen products. There is a big risk that the powder will not be completely washed out of the pen. And sleep while inhaling " chemical"fragrances are not the best prospect.
  4. To distribute the load on the drum, add a few more towels or special balls for washing down jackets.
  5. Drying the pen here is the same as when washing it by hand - near heating devices or in a warm draft.
  6. After the feather has completely dried, the gauze bags are carefully ripped open over a large cloth, cellophane, and the filler is transferred to a napkin - a washed old one or a previously prepared new one.

Housewives do not like washing in a machine, not only because it can negatively affect the quality of the pen, but also seriously harm the equipment. If the feather filler breaks free from the bags, it will clog the filters of the washing machine. This means that the device will require expensive repairs.

Secrets of successful drying

You and I understand that before returning feathers and down to the pillowcase, the filler must be thoroughly dried. Check out these helpful tips:

  • Lay out the feathers or their cases on absorbent paper. As a last resort, on a newspaper ( there is a possibility that printing ink will print on a light nib). Change the paper as it becomes damp.
  • It is better to dry on the sunny side of the room, close to heating devices. If the fluff is in a case, then you can place it to dry on a window, balcony - where there is a good draft.
  • Don't forget to shake, beat, and turn over properly.
  • Drying in total lasts about a week - before this time has passed, there is no point in returning the still wet filler to the bedsheet.

And a few more tips that definitely won’t be superfluous:

  • The best time to wash feather pillows is in late spring or summer on a warm or even hot day. This atmosphere promotes rapid drying of the filler.
  • When washing by hand, close the lid to avoid surprises. drainer mesh - so that by chance " escaped"The fluff did not clog the drain.
  • To make the feather filling dirty more slowly, we recommend putting not one, but two chintz pillowcases on the quilt.
  • And one more tip for maintaining cleanliness for a long time: before returning the fluff to the pillowcase, rub the latter with inside household soap.

So we figured out how to wash a feather pillow. There are two main ways - manually and in a washing machine. As you noticed, washing is not particularly labor-intensive, except for preparing gauze covers. However, you can not unravel them, but save them until the next wash of the pillow filling.

Not only you, but also many household members who care about cleanliness and order in the house are interested in question of this nature: Is it possible to wash a down pillow in a washing machine?

Answer: yes, you can. But there are nuances that must be observed so that the down product does not lose its original appearance after washing. Let's start with this.

Features of washing down and feathers

Before you start, you need to prepare the down and feathers for washing. If the pillow is small, it can be washed entirely in the machine, using only the additional pillowcase attached to it.

If it is large (does not fit into the washing machine), then you need to remove the filler and wash it in parts:

  1. Open the pillow top one seam at a time and place all the filling in a dry container (for example, a basin).
  2. Use bags and fill them with fluff, then sew them tightly. You can use whole old pillowcases as bags. IN mandatory check the tightness of the seam, since a bag that ruptures inside a working machine will pour fluff into the drum, and this can lead to dire consequences.

Advice! The less fluff there is in the bag, the better it will clean. Also, to knock down fluff during washing, some people put tennis balls along with the pillow or filling bags.

How to wash a down pillow?

If everything is ready, you can load the down pillow into the washing machine:

  1. It is advisable to add special balls or tennis balls to a down pillow or bags of down.
  2. Use only washing powder.
  3. Set the mode to "delicate wash", "hand wash" or "duvet".
  4. Water temperature 30-40 degrees.
  5. If you set your washing settings, then select a temperature of 30 degrees, spin 400 revolutions (if not 400, then without spin, then manually), rinse 2 times (or intense).

Advice! When washing several down pillowcases, be they bags or small pillows, add 2-3 of them. In this situation, the load on the washable filler is divided evenly, and this in turn prevents the formation of large lumps.

What about drying?

After the down has been washed, it must be dried thoroughly. It will take about 2 days for the filler to dry in good weather, so be patient. The main thing to remember:

  1. Dry your down in a well-ventilated room with plenty of sunlight to prevent mold from forming.
  2. Small pads or bags can be dried on a clothesline right outside.
  3. Every 3-5 hours, break the formed lumps with your hands, do not let the fluff cake. If the fluff is removed from the pillow, do not forget to stir it.
  4. To prevent fluff from being blown away by the wind, use light fabric or gauze to cover the filling.
  5. If the washing took place in winter, take the washed down pillow outside. Fresh frosty air will kill many germs.
  6. If you live in an apartment and washed your pillow during... heating season, you can dry it on the radiator. Just remember to knock it down so it doesn't cake.

Advice! Did you know what? And if everything is done correctly, then after washing they will be the same as when they were purchased.

When the down and feather are dry, transfer it to a clean bedsheet and sew it with a double stitch. If the down pillow has not dried within two days, the filling may begin to rot. To avoid this, you need to rinse it again. Remember, the less filler you dry on one unit of area, the faster it will dry!

Down products have always been highly valued for their practicality, durability, softness and heat-retaining abilities. However, such products require especially careful care. You can take the down and feathers to the dry cleaner, or you can try to handle it yourself.

Washing down and feathers is best done in summer in hot weather. Ultraviolet light has a positive effect on the material and prevents the appearance of mites. Also, don't forget to wash the pillowcase at the same time if you're washing down from your pillows. To wash a down pillow or feather bed, you need to rip open the pillowcase and carefully remove the contents. After that, divide it into small parts. Prepare small gauze bags. Pour some fluff or feathers into each. Fill the bath with warm water (about 45-50 degrees) and add soap solution. It is best to use regular laundry soap; it is hypoallergenic, which is especially important when using down products. You can also add a little ammonia to the washing water. Wash the bags by hand, not very intensively, remember lightly and leave to soak for a couple of hours. Rinse the down filling bags thoroughly with plenty of running water. Squeeze properly. You can dry the fluff directly in the bags by hanging them in the sun, tossing and turning them over from time to time. Or lay the damp material on a sheet in a ventilated area and cover it with a piece of gauze on top to keep the fluff in place. Stir it periodically. When it dries a little, put the fluff in pillowcases and dry it in the sun. You can also wash down in washing machine. For this, also use gauze bags. After loading the bags into the machine, select the mode for washing wool products. The detergent should also be suitable for wool items. Rinse one more time with conditioner. Dry the bags in the sun. It happens that the down is in a quilted bedspread. In this case, there is no need to remove the material. It is better to wash it in a washing machine in cold water with spin at low speed. Also rinse thoroughly 2-3 times with conditioner. Dry in the sun or on a radiator. Now many organizations offer cleaning of pillows and down products. Their job is to blow air through the material, which removes dust and debris. However, it is worth noting that often this type of cleaning is not of high quality, since pests such as dust mites (if they are in the fluff) will remain in place. Needs quality washing or dry cleaning. The latter is recommended to be done a couple of times a year.

Despite the obvious advantages of products made from natural down, it also has disadvantages. So, over time it tends to get lost. To delay this moment, whisk and pour down and feathers from the product more often. And may you have sweet dreams!

There's nothing better than a good old feather pillow. Today there are many fillers: from wool and straw to cereals and synthetic fibers. However, feather pillows are still the top seller.

Why wash feather pillows and can you do it at home?

Feather pillows can be washed by yourself because modern market provides housewives with various products for washing products filled with down and feathers. Since down jackets have become widespread, the sales industry has been providing buyers with all possible accessories to care for them.

Pillows need to be washed because they are filled with natural materials such as feathers and down. waterfowl, absorbs moisture, dust and gland secretions well. And this, in turn, favorable environment for reproduction various kinds bacteria, which leads to allergies, respiratory diseases, and skin problems. Feather filled pillows can and should be washed

Many housewives rarely ask themselves about the need to wash a feather pillow. It is believed that systematically washing and replacing pillowcases is a sufficient care measure. Unfortunately, few people suspect and know what danger lies in the contaminated contents of a bedside table.

However, the development of many diseases respiratory system associated specifically with the use of a dirty and unclean pillow with a feather. It is imperative to wash your pillow, both doctors and allergists say this, but not more than once or twice a year. More frequent washing may lead to loss of product quality.
Previously, the process of washing a pillow was more reminiscent of the process of restoring it, but now, thanks to developed technologies, everything is much simpler

In this regard, the question arises of how to properly wash down and feather pillows. Frankly, many years ago, when washing machines and various means were not available to break down the down during washing, your humble servant embroidered the finished pillow, dried the feathers and down separately (most of the down component was inevitably lost along the way). After such a painful procedure, the feathers were sewn back into the bedside table, and in some cases, a certain fabric was purchased and a new bedsheet was sewn. Now, fortunately, this method has long been forgotten and washing a feather pillow is easier than curling your hair.

Preparing for washing

Most of the time and patience will have to be spent on the preparation stage for washing. This is a rather labor-intensive and energy-consuming process, because complete ready product It is not advisable to wash it, as, for example, they do with down jackets. Washing the entire pillow only gets rid of the dust that has accumulated on the surface. The drying process with this treatment will also not give the desired result.

The first thing you should decide on initial stage, is a type of filler: chicken, goose feather or loon down. Bad news for those who have a pillow filled with chicken feathers. Such a feather can easily turn into dust when washed. In this regard, it is not recommended to wash such filler. It is better to take the product to a special workshop. Chicken has a special feather structure that is different from the feathers of waterfowl. Chicken feathers take an extremely long time to dry and do not repel moisture.
At the first stage, it is important to determine which bird feather is used as filler

In other cases, washing is possible. To wash waterfowl feathers, take care of several covers - small bags in which the filling will be placed. You can make these bags yourself. The material suitable is the one from which bedsteads are sewn, namely teak. You can replace it with any other thin and durable cotton fabric. Of course, many people advise using gauze to wash down and feathers. And there is some truth in this, because this way the filler is rinsed better, but fluff will easily “escape” through the windows of the fabric. Therefore, if you do choose gauze, fold it in three or four layers. For one standard pillow 70x70 cm, five of these bags will be enough, with a size of 20x20 centimeters.

Take care of bags-covers for washing feather filling

There is also a way for the lazy: some housewives sew one large bag, which is twice the length of the bedstead. When washing this way, balls are added to the machine to break up the fluff, which can be bought in specialized departments.
To prevent fluff from sticking together in the washing machine, add special balls to the drum

Knock out the pillow and place the fluff in the covers

After the preparatory work, the pillow must be knocked out in order to get rid of accumulated dust as much as possible. Dust inside the pillow can accumulate in heaps when washed, so this action is extremely important. It’s easier to get rid of the accompanying troubles in advance. And only now can you distribute the fluff and feathers into the cases prepared for them. To do this, unravel the napkin along the seam and carefully remove the fluff from there.

From my own experience, I will say that it is more convenient to do this right in the bathroom and without clothes. Because this will make it much easier to wash off the fluff from yourself and your apartment. Yes and family life such a picture can bring life to life.
To remove the feather from the pillow, carefully spread the quill along the seam

It is best if the fabric for transferring the down is slightly damp, so the down will catch on to the material faster. The edges of the covers in which the filling is placed must be sewn up well or tied very tightly so that it does not fly apart and the cleaned pillow does not shrink to half its normal size.

Choosing detergents

Today the market is replete with specialized products for cleaning down and feather products. Liquids are best. Dry laundry detergent has large granules that get stuck in such filler, practically not being washed out of it.

In this case, liquid powder, gel for woolen products and shampoo will act most carefully. The basis positive influence These products contain lanolin. It is this ingredient in the composition that has a beneficial effect on down and feathers, making them elastic and protecting them from repeated contamination for a long time. For washing down and feather filling, it is better to choose liquid detergents.

When washing down and feathers, it is better to refrain from using strong-smelling products, because they set well natural materials and will continue to interfere at night, irritating the olfactory receptors. Therefore, you should avoid using conventional air conditioner for bed linen.

The most popular detergents for washing down and feather products in our country:

  • Heitmann liquid for products with down and feather filling;
  • Grangers Down Wash;
  • Nikwax Down Wash.

The price range of such products: 400–1000 rubles.

Many housewives use both shampoo and dishwashing detergents.
