How does a spinner work? This miniature exercise machine does not require batteries or external charging to spin (although some models have LEDs for added effect). There is a bearing in the center that you need to grab with a large and index finger, and with the other hand, unscrew the device by the petals.

Sometimes when looking for an answer to the question of how to spin a spinner, you can come across options without using your fingers. The spinner can be placed on any flat surface(table, window sill, palm), pressed against the bearing with your hand and untwists. Thus, it is possible to significantly increase the duration and speed of rotation.

What does a spinner consist of?

This simple device includes only 3 parts:

  1. Bearing. It is located in the center of the device and looks like a ring with a metal/ceramic ball inside. They have their own quality rating - ABC. The higher the rating, the higher the speed and duration of rotation. For practical purposes, only the central bearing is used. Such details can also be external, located on the petals. But they serve more for decoration and improving balance.
  2. Frame. The part that rotates around the bearing. The cases are different. About their types -.
  3. Lid. It is inserted into the center of the bearing and allows you to confidently hold the machine with your fingers. Without this part, it will be problematic to fix the machine with your fingers during rotation.

How to make the spinner spin longer?

When wondering how to play with spinners, most users are interested in the question of longer spins. First of all, cost is important here: cheap simulators will rotate for a maximum of 1-2 minutes. In more expensive options - bearings High Quality, suitable materials and a well thought out balance. Therefore, such models are not cheap, but they also allow you to enjoy long-term fast rotation and perform various tricks.

Cheap or expensive spinner?

The operating principle of the spinner does not change depending on the price. But the result obtained is significant.

  1. Rotation duration. One of the most important parameters for enthusiastic users. “Professional” spinners can spin for 5-10 minutes. For this purpose, the models use good bearings And quality metals housings (copper, steel, brass). Therefore, such devices, by definition, cannot be cheap.
  2. Smooth ride. High-quality turntables rotate smoothly due to high rating (ABEC) and quality (R188) bearings. The material of the central element (ceramics is best), well-thought-out balance and the presence of lubrication also play a role here.
  3. Workmanship. Expensive spinners are made at special machines CNC, due to which high-precision processing is achieved, and you can also get unusual design and perfect appearance.
  4. Durability. The most expensive ones are metal spinners, which, unlike plastic ones, will not last for a couple of months.

If you decide to buy a miniature exercise machine for yourself or as a gift, the site’s specialists will help you choose suitable model, they will tell you how to use the spinner and how to achieve maximum result with a specific device.

We saw a large number of questions about increasing the rotation speed of the spinner, and would like to give you full information about solving this problem.

First, we will mention that the best spinner is the one that is perfect for you. In terms of design, comfort in the hand, and most importantly, price. Some people prefer to spin the spinner every 5-10 seconds, this does not mean spinning it and waiting 2-3 minutes until it stops completely - that would be stupid. So don't be shy when someone tells you that your fidget spinner is spinning slowly - you might not want it to!

How to increase the speed of the spinner (cleaning the bearing)

Step 1: Remove the protective caps to access the mechanism itself.

Step 2: Clean your bearing with any solvent. Some solvents contain acetone and isopropyl alcohol. The spinner bearing can be lubricated with WD-40, but be careful, after this procedure you need to clean everything thoroughly, because... this lubricant will attract all dust and dirt.

If your bearing is already lubricated with factory grease, then you need to completely get rid of it.

  1. Take a deep plate.
  2. Pour solvent into it
  3. Submerge the spinner bearing completely - all dirt and residue should dissolve
  4. Repeat the procedure until the result is clear

Be careful: some spinners made on a 3D printer contain 1% styrene. It is used when direct production parts on the printer. So, isopropyl alcohol can deform and dissolve it. Therefore, we recommend learning how to completely remove the bearing, especially if you plan to clean it every week.

You can also wash with warm soapy water, but make sure that the bearing is perfectly dry and free of soapy film residue.

Step 3: Drying the spinner. We recommend using cans with compressed air, because they are the ones who will guarantee that your bearings are completely dry and have no residual liquid. Many metal spinners can corrode, so to protect yourself from further problems, your spinner should be perfectly clean.

You can use a hair dryer, but only on a removed bearing without a frame, i.e. if you have plastic spinner– hot air can begin to melt its elements.

Step 4: Assemble your spinner. If there are still problems with its speed, then repeat the procedure. If this happens again, it is better to purchase a better quality spinner.

This article is about how to increase the speed of your spinner, so by removing excess grease from the bearing you should understand that your spinner will become noisier and will make grinding and crackling sounds.

  • If you wanted the fastest and most silent spinner, then you will need to lubricate it, but not in the amount that was before cleaning, but only 1 drop of good lubricating oil.
  • If after cleaning you are still not satisfied with the rotation speed of the spinner, then you should change its bearing. We wrote earlier about the types of bearings for a spinner, but for now we can recommend a hybrid one (steel + ceramic balls).
  • You can't fool physics! Metal spinners will have a greater speed advantage over plastic ones. If you have a plastic spinner, and you expect unrealistic speeds from it, then you should reconsider your choice and think about buying a metal spinner.
  • The plugs on the spinner are very important. They protect the bearing from moisture, dirt and dust. Every time you take the spinner out of your pocket you expose it to external influence, you can drop it, drown it, or simply leave it on a dusty surface. We recommend cleaning it once a week with a can of compressed air or a hairdryer. This will improve the performance of the bearings.
  • Some spinners are assembled in such a way that it is impossible to remove the bearing and clean it. This suggests that the manufacturer does not want you to be able to change the internal mechanism in advance. Therefore, if you cannot remove the bearing from the spinner, then it is better not to try, otherwise you may simply break the spinner.

We hope that at least some of the information will help you in increasing the speed of your spinner. Suggest your solutions to this problem in the comments!

Has your child succumbed to the popular fashion for spinning spinners? Is he asking for a red one, a yellow one, and also a luminous one in the form of a minion? In general, so that it’s not like everyone else? Then you can make a toy with your own hands. Moreover, such a labor lesson will keep both you and your baby busy. And if you still don’t know what a spinner is, there we answered all the popular questions about this modern, arch-modern fun.

We have put together three ways for you to make a spinner, two easy and one more difficult (you'll need your dad's help here). But we are sure that both tools and materials should be found at home or in the country. Each instruction is supported by a video tutorial found on YouTube for clarity. So, how to make a spinner out of paper, from plastic caps and made of wood?

Method 1. Spinner made of paper and cardboard.

Method 2. Spinner made of plastic caps.

This spinner will require a little more materials and diligence, but will also last an order of magnitude longer. In general, a spinner made from Coca-Cola caps is something like crafts made from matchboxes for older generations. Dear consumables and soul-warming results with minimal costs for an actively functioning (that is, rotating) thing.

What you will need:

  • Covers from plastic bottles
  • Kinetic sand or plasticine
  • Glue gun
  • Nail and lighter
  • Glue stick
  • Scissors
  • Toothpick

Instructions:

  1. Place three bottle caps almost to the top kinetic sand or plasticine. The main thing is to make the blades heavier.
  2. Use a glue gun to fill the remaining space in the lids to the top.
  3. Make a hole in the fourth (without sand) lid (you can use a heated nail).
  4. Glue three lids with sand to the central lid with a hole.
  5. Cut two pieces about 1 centimeter from the glue stick.
  6. Break a toothpick in half. Place a piece of rod on one end (the toothpick should not stick out) and thread it into the center of the spinner.
  7. Place the second piece of the rod over the tip of the toothpick on the other side. Ready! If you are very eager, such a spinner can also be decorated creatively - painted with paints (for example, acrylic) or pasted over with something positive. Or you can leave it as is by selecting interesting combinations caps from bottled drinks.

Method 3. Wooden spinner (with bearing)

Let's move on to the most labor-intensive method of making a spinner. You can’t do without parents here, but the result can be safely laid out on the desk along with purchased toys. Again, in terms of design, freedom for self-expression is provided. For those dads and children who are friends with a jigsaw, know how to find bearings on the shelves of hardware stores and know which side to hold the drill on.

What you will need:

  • 2mm bearing
  • Plywood sheet (5 mm)
  • Stack of coins
  • Scissors
  • Pencil
  • Hand jigsaw
  • Sandpaper
  • Template (or cardboard and marker to create it)
  • Clamp
  • Drill

Instructions:

  1. Glue the template onto a sheet of plywood and mark the locations for future holes in each of the circles.
  2. Drill holes in each of the three circles on the sides to make it easier to cut them out later.
  3. Insert a jigsaw into the holes and cut them out.
  4. Cut out the workpiece itself from a sheet of plywood and sand it with sandpaper.
  5. You can paint the spinner any color you like.
  6. Insert the bearing into the central circle; if it does not fit well, you can drive it in with a hammer.
  7. Glue together a stack of coins for the inner circles. Start with a five-ruble coin (put it under the circle), then two-ruble coins and on top again a coin with a face value of five rubles.
  8. Do this for all circles. You can decorate it on top as you wish. Ready! Just think about the benefits of a homemade anti-stress toy: you had a good time together with your child, worked hard and saved money on buying another plastic trinket. And it spins great!

Spinners entered mass fashion not so long ago, but in just a few months they won the hearts of not only adults, but also children. Today, spinners spin everywhere: on the street, at work, in the subway and even in kindergarten! And every child wants his toy to be somehow different from those that his peers already have. You can buy an original spinner, but such a toy is not cheap, and finding a unique spinner takes a lot of time. The best decision- make a spinner yourself.

So, we present to your attention a few simple ways how to make a spinner with your own hands from materials that everyone has at home.

1. How to make a spinner from plastic caps?

Materials: caps from any plastic bottles same size(4 pcs), plasticine, hot glue, nail, scissors, lighter and toothpick.

What do we have to do: put plasticine in 3 lids, use hot glue to seal the remaining space of the lids. Take the fourth lid (without plasticine) and make a hole in it, for example, with a heated nail. Glue the caps with sand to the one where you just made a hole. Take a glue stick and cut 2 small pieces (1 cm) from it. Break a toothpick in half and put a piece of glue on one end (make sure that the sharp tip of the toothpick does not stick out) and place it in the center of your future fidget spinner. WITH reverse side Place the remaining piece of glue stick on the tip of the toothpick. Your spinner is ready!

For more interesting looking, you can color the caps in different colors acrylic paints.

2. How to make a spinner from cardboard?

Materials: plastic bottle caps, cardboard, scissors, marker, awl or nail scissors, glue, 3 coins and a pen refill.

What do we have to do: Using the lids, draw 4 circles on the cardboard in the shape of your future spinner. After this, cut out 5 such blanks and glue them together, carefully gluing the edges. Next, cut out smaller circles. Using an awl or thin nail scissors make a hole in the center of the spinner. Glue 3 coins or any stickers on the sides of the blanks.

Next, take the set aside pen shaft and carefully cut 1 cm from it. Make small holes in the center on two small circles. Insert the cut piece from the handle shaft into one of the circles and glue it along the edges of the hole to securely fix it. Insert this circle into the center of your spinner and glue the second circle on the back side. The two remaining small circles can be glued on top of the ends of the rod. To make your spinner spin faster, place some kind of spacer between the spinner blank and the small circles (in our example we used metal pendants).

Ready! Let your child decorate his spinner as he wants, you can use glitter, stickers, rhinestones and other decorations.

3. How to make a spinner using bearings?

Materials: bearings (3 pcs), tie clamps, glue gun or superglue (for a more complex spinner).

What do we have to do: wrap cable ties around the bearings on all sides. Cut off the excess clamps and that’s it - the spinner is ready!

To make it more bright and attractive, you can make the design more complex. Take 7 bearings, place 6 of them around the seventh. You will not use all 7 bearings, you will only need 3 circular and 1 central. You need the remaining bearings only for accurate measurements, so we will leave only those that form a triangle. Glue all the necessary parts using glue gun or superglue. The spinner is ready! Decorate the spinner as you wish. You can glue the fluffy wire, apply glue to the sides of the spinner and cover the edges with glitter.

Rest assured, no one else will have spinners like your child’s!

There is a crazy hype around spinners at the moment. Over the past few months, every self-respecting blogger has made at least one video instruction about this toy.

The craze for these hand-held gyroscopes has absorbed everyone, from American teenagers to Russian politicians. A huge number of people ask search engines the question of what to do with a spinner.

Videos of stunts being performed are made. Every day, manufacturers surprise customers with new models. The popularity of this toy is explained by the fact that it does not easily captivate you for several hours, but also relieves stress, helps you concentrate, and promotes development. fine motor skills and can even increase the sensitivity of the fingers thanks to acupressure.

There are probably few people left unfamiliar with this invention, but I would like to clarify and suggest understanding how to use the fidget spinner correctly.

Before reading the instructions for use, it is worth understanding what a spinner consists of.

Frame

The frame on which the remaining parts will be located can be made of various materials. There are toys made of wood, metal, plastic, even rubber. It is the frame that will rotate. May have unique design, depending only on the imagination of the manufacturer.

Central bearing

As the name implies, it is located in the very center of the spinner. Necessary directly for the rotation of the body. The bearing classification is determined by the ABEC rating. More high rating means faster and longer rotation.

Lid

A cap is a plug that is attached to the central hole of the bearing and plays the role of a “pad” by which you need to hold the spinner.

Sometimes additional bearings are added to the components, which are located on the blades and serve to increase inertia.

How to spin a spinner correctly - instructions

As with the structure of the spinner, its use is not at all complicated. The easiest way is to grab the toy by the “pad” with your fingers, which you feel comfortable with, and with your other hand, twist the blades in any direction.

How to spin a spinner with one hand? In this case, too, there is nothing complicated. There are several options:

  1. It is necessary to grasp the turntable by the central bearing with your thumb on one side and your middle finger on the other. One of the blades should be pushed ring finger. Can be changed middle finger and the index finger, if it’s more convenient for you, in this case the rotation is set by the middle finger.
  2. As in the first option, the hand spinner should be held with two fingers, and the third should be rotated, only this time the toy is held between the middle and index fingers, and the rotation is set by the thumb.
  3. The most difficult option is considered to be rotating the spinner on one of the fingers, on which balance is better felt. Rotation in this version can be set either with the second hand or with wave movements. The main thing is concentration and attentiveness.

For greater clarity, you can look at the instructions:

How to spin a hand spinner quickly

There are a lot of tips for speeding up the rotation of a spinner. Read more about the most important and effective:

  1. The center bearing needs to be cleaned.
    • Release the bearing from the plugs on both sides.
    • Clean the bearing with solvent.
    • Dry the spinner. To do this, you can use a can of compressed air.
    • Reinstall the plugs.
  2. There is an option to change the bearing to a hybrid one, which is made of steel with ceramic balls. Or use full ceramics, they are the fastest, but they crack.
  3. Provided that after all the previous tips, the speed still does not suit you, then the problem lies in. You should choose a spinner with a metal body, it will have absolute superiority over plastic toys.

After completing several steps, the speed of your spinner should increase significantly.

How long to spin the spinner

Spin time is perhaps the main point when choosing a spinner. There are many important components in this issue: balancing, bearing quality, low weight of the frame itself and the right material, used for manufacturing - metal.

Please note that a good spinner will not cost 100 rubles, especially metal ones, prices for them start from 500 and above.

The choice of spinner type is also important; spinners with three blades are considered to spin the longest. The rotation time is increased by additional balancing of the blades and replacing bearings with better ones, ideally ceramics or metal+ceramics.

In order for the spinner to spin longer, its bearings are cleaned of grease.

If you are not satisfied with the rotation time of the spinner you have already purchased, then following all the points related to increasing the speed can help.
