I reflected all my steps in making a wooden bar stool with my own hands in the instructions. I took the height of the furniture and its main dimensions from a cabinetmaker I knew.

Step-by-step instructions for assembling a bar stool with your own hands

I cleaned the oak board on all sides with a sander. Finally brought the seat plane to perfect condition sandpaper.
From the bottom side in the corners of the board I drilled 20 mm recesses with a drill.
I decided to make the legs from pine beams 50 × 50 mm. It was sawn into 4 pieces 77 cm long.
I drilled 20 mm recesses in the upper ends of the supports.
I cut the wooden plank with a hacksaw into 8 pieces 28 cm long.
All manufactured parts were treated with stain. Impregnation favorably emphasized the structure of the wood.
The dried wood was covered with furniture varnish 2 times.
The upper seat base and lower belt were assembled by connecting the legs to the transverse strips with screws.
The screw heads were covered with plastic plugs using PVA glue.
I filled the holes in the upper ends of the legs with glue and inserted wooden dowels into them.
I filled the recesses in the back of the seat with glue.
The seat was “dressed” on dowel legs. Place a small weight on the board until the glue dries completely.
I glued felt circles to the lower ends of the legs. Furniture will not scratch the floor covering.

After I made a wooden bar stool with my own hands, I calculated the labor costs and financial expenses.

Labor costs

The amount of time spent on making furniture was combined into a table.

In total I made 3 chairs, the production of which took only 18 people. hours.

Cost of materials

Oak board 40 × 40 × 3 cm = 300 rub.
Beam 3 m = 150 rub.
Rake = 50 rub.
Everything else (PVA, screws, plugs, stain and varnish were available).

Total: 500 rub.

Accordingly, 1,500 rubles were spent on making 3 bar stools with my own hands. The homemade bar stools turned out beautiful and quite comfortable.

We will need: a panel array (tsars) 25-30 mm, the approximate diameter of the array for the seat is 360 mm; timber 50x50 mm (legs); wood glue, foam rubber, upholstery fabric. Manufacturing process: step-by-step instructions

To set the height of a bar stool, you need to measure the length from the top of the bar counter to the floor. The distance from the seat to the counter should be 30-35 cm.

Before work, prepare drawings with exact dimensions. This will help you know the amount of material. At the initial stage we collect everything necessary details. We make markings for the blanks. Using a jigsaw, we cut out a circle from solid wood; the diameter should be 360 mm - this is the upper part of the seat. Now it needs to be sanded with a machine. Then we cut out a smaller circle – 260 mm. You will need it to assemble and attach the legs.

Based on basic data, you can create your own product design

The seat can be made square - at your discretion. To do this, take a wide drawer or two or three planks 120 mm wide. To connect them, in end side grind the tenon and groove. We glue the parts with wood glue or PVA for furniture, connect them, then fix them and leave them until completely dry.

When choosing wood for a product, pay attention to the most accessible species - pine and birch.

Let's start making the legs; we make them from 50x50 mm timber. Be sure to keep the structure upright. We plan the entire length with a planer so that the section at the bottom of the legs is 2.5x2.5 cm, and the place of attachment to the seat is much thicker.

The required thickness is 20 and 30 mm.

You will also need four so-called prongs. This will help significantly fix the structure and provide support for the legs. The 2.5x2.5 beam is planed, and a tenon is filed in the end part. We make a nest in the legs for a thorn. We distribute it at a height of approximately 30 cm from the floor. Lubricate the legs with glue, insert them into the sockets and secure them firmly. Let it dry.

Some details can be borrowed from old chairs.

Now let's assemble the bar stool. It is important to avoid gaps and cracks. Then, once the parts have been adjusted, we connect them. The pointed corners of the studs must be rounded.

In the circle for attaching the legs, you need to drill 2 holes of 6-8 mm in diameter for each leg for dowels. They must be strung on them with effort. In addition to the legs, metal corners are attached with screws.
A circle of larger diameter is attached to the top of the screws on the reverse side. Now we place the chair on a straight plane and adjust the legs.
We thoroughly process the chair grinder, cover with varnish or stain, preferably in several layers.

When cutting out the legs of the future chair, make sure that the structure of the solid wood is vertical.

In some cases, you can install backrests and armrests. If desired, the seat can be made soft. Before covering the bar stools, add foam rubber, batting, or a children's mattress made from coconut coir. Upholstery fabric must be good good quality. Faux leather will also work.

Cut out stiffening ribs 20 mm thick - they will serve as a footrest.

WITH reverse side We apply a layer of glue to the seats - furniture PVA or BF-88. We lubricate the filler, for example foam rubber, and the upholstery material with glue.

The ribs are attached to the legs using corners that are placed below, on the floor side.

We press the foam firmly against the seat and cover it with upholstery. We fasten with a stapler first in the corners, then along the perimeter.

The diameter of the holes for self-tapping screws in the plane should be 6 mm, at the end - 3 mm.

The final stage is decoration
