But why not make it yourself? The manufacturing process is not too complicated, anyone should be able to do it, especially with something made with their own hands, which is much more pleasant to use than a purchased version. This article will describe 4 different ways manufacturing of boxes, photo report attached.

Next, according to the presented drawing, you need to make markings, then cut out all the parts of the body. It is necessary to make special grooves in which the partition will be placed; for this we use a hand router or other available tool.

The diagram shows the following body parts:

1 - wall (2 pcs.);
2 - sidewall (2 pcs.);
3 - bottom;
4 - groove along the thickness of the partition and a depth of 1/2–1/3 of the thickness of the material

When everything is ready, all elements of the box body should be sanded. Next, we assemble the body together, fix the parts with wood glue, and then additionally fasten them with small nails.

Now we make a partition for the drawer, cut out a special handle, and use a jigsaw for this.

When the partition is ready, lubricate the grooves with wood glue and install it in its place.

Next, we make overhead handles from the planks and round the corners using a planer. Then we make tool holders from the slats, use a jigsaw and a drill. The holes will serve as screwdrivers, and the square cutouts will accommodate pliers, etc. tool.

To ensure that the box does not get dirty and there is protection from environment, coat the surface with varnish. As a result of the work done, we get this homemade box.

The entire list of required parts.

In order to make sure that the wood was cut correctly, you need to put all the parts in a single box.

First, we assemble the bottom part and lid of the box; for convenience, we use clamps and corner clamps. We fix the parts together with wood glue.

Then, using a drill, we drill a hole for the screws and countersink the holes.

Very often, when I pass by fruit markets after a day of trading, I see many discarded boxes made from beech slats. There are so many of them, and the wood is valuable and decorative, and I have a question: what interesting and useful can be made from these slats with your own hands. Or you can make, for example, such a box for linen, which, in addition to its functionality, is an interior decoration. Several drawers, seemingly carelessly placed on top of each other with beautiful little things inside, will create a unique style and comfort in your bedroom.

The box itself is assembled quite simply from wooden slats and bars:

The walls of the box are made like this: slats are nailed onto two bars. The edges are aligned so that not a single strip extends beyond the bar:

In this way we knock together two platform walls. We tie them together with planks:

We do not make the corner into the overlay, but leave a small gap and slightly round the ends so as not to hit the sharp corners:

Thin plywood will go to the bottom. We either nail it or glue it with PVA glue (you can do both).

When the box is ready, we drill holes for ventilation, since such boxes are placed on top of each other:

To decorate our laundry drawer you can use different variants impregnations and tinting to suit your taste:

Handles can be made from ordinary rope, it is very decorative:

Here is another piece of furniture, made with your own hands, decorating your bedroom.

Why tree

Since a long time craftsmen used for making various designs tree. Houses were built from this material and served their owners. long years, providing them with comfort and coziness for living.

The tree is natural material, which is easy to process and has high environmental performance. Wooden structures have an aesthetic appearance and emit favorable odors.

Of course, this material has its drawbacks, the main ones being rotting and flammability. But when the right approach to wood processing and caring for it in the future, such troubles can be easily avoided.

To work with wood you will need special tool, which a good owner always has at hand. The choice of material must be approached thoroughly, giving preference to the most durable types of wood so that the product lasts as long as possible.

The very first thing to do is to determine the place where the wooden box will be located and carefully take the required dimensions.

  • according to the measurements received, cut structural elements drawers - four walls, a lid and a bottom;
  • we connect the side walls one by one using nails or self-tapping screws;
  • we screw the bottom of the product, starting from opposite corners, to avoid its displacement;
  • Finally, we install the lid of the box, which allows it to be tilted using piano hinges.

With the help of simple manipulations, the wooden box is ready for use. The product is refined based on your preferences and tastes.

There are several types of wooden boxes that will be useful for gardeners and gardeners. The simplest of them is a simple lattice version, which can be found in stores selling vegetables or in markets. It allows long time preserve the harvest, provides air circulation, which dries the skin of vegetables or fruits. The second type is a container that has virtually no gaps. You can place flowers in it, root cuttings or pickle cabbage. Let's figure out how to make a wooden box with your own hands.

Simple wooden box for storing harvest

You can optimize the space in your cellar with the help of shelving and convenient small boxes. This will allow you to avoid cluttering the floor space, and place the smallest underground maximum amount vegetables and pickles. It is important to choose the right wood for making utility furniture and drawers.

First, put together a rack, purchase dried boards for it, it is best if they are pre-processed with a plane. The ideal width of the rack is 50-60 cm. This will allow you to install the maximum number of drawers on it. First, assemble the shelving box, to do this, assemble a rectangle from the boards, nail the burs in the corners, and also mark the location of the shelves with several horizontal bars. Keep in mind that the bars on both sides of the vertical walls must be at the same height.

To make a simple container you will need to have:

  • timber 1.5 by 1.5 cm or 2 by 2;
  • slats;
  • hammer and nails or screwdriver and screws;
  • saw for adjusting the size of wood;
  • carpentry corner.

Depending on the purpose, boxes for vegetables can have different sizes. Most often, tall options are made for potatoes with side dimensions of 80 by 60 cm, side height from 80 to 100 cm. For carrots and other root vegetables, boxes are made with small height– 40-50 cm.

The principle of making boxes:

  1. First, assemble the frame of the future box - to do this, cut the bars according the right sizes. With dimensions 80 × 60, you will need 4 bars with a length of 80 centimeters, the same number of 60. You will need another 4 bars with a length equal to the height of the box.
  2. Connect the bars together to create a three-dimensional frame. Use nails or screws to connect.
  3. Now all that remains is to calculate the number of slats with which you will have to sew up the bottom and 4 sides. They are packed horizontally onto the body, with small gaps for ventilation - about 2-3 centimeters. For potatoes, you can make a box with large gaps - about 4-5 centimeters.

Experienced craftsmen recommend sewing up the bottom first, and then creating the sides, first long and then short. This way you definitely won’t go wrong with the sizes. When cutting and installing slats, be sure to use construction corner. If you often use the box or store tomatoes or thin-skinned fruits in it, then you should cover the caps with putty - they will not stick out and disturb you.

The described model can be taken as the basis for a more complex box that will suit for storing tools, workpieces and other purposes. When sewing the sides, place the boards at a distance of 2-3 mm from each other (this gap is necessary as wood expands and contracts). For ease of storage, such a box should be equipped with a lid. For it, make a rectangle from the bars so that it can fit inside the top of the box, for example, make it 77 by 57 cm. Stuff slats on top with a technical gap of 2-3 mm. After completing this stage, all you have to do is screw the handles to the resulting lid.

Portable container

Put together convenient drawer for flowers, pickling cabbage or rooting cuttings it is a little more complicated, but the basic principles of operation will remain the same. To make a portable container, select your lumber carefully. You will need to have:

  • 6 boards 15 × 75 × 2 cm;
  • 1 rail 75 × 4.6 × 2 cm;
  • 4 boards 31x15x2 cm;
  • 2 bars 25 × 5 × 3 cm;
  • 3 bars 80 × 3 × 1 cm;
  • 4 bars 30 × 5 × 3 cm.

You will also need to have several types of fasteners:

  • decorative furniture nails – 10 pcs.;
  • nails 60 × 3 – 20 pcs.;
  • nails – 50 × 2.5 – 28 pcs.

In this case, a piece of covering material or polyethylene can be used as a lid (you only need to nail this material if you will use the container for growing seedlings). Using this box usually involves moisture, so be sure to coat all lumber (prior to assembly) with an antiseptic.

  1. Make a shield from two short planks. Assemble it onto perpendicular bars, which are stuffed at a distance of 3 cm from each edge.
  2. Connect the shields with two longitudinal strips so that they form the letter “P”. The bars should be directed outward.
  3. Align the structure and loop it with 2 more planks.
  4. Fill the bottom - its design consists of 2 boards and a batten, located at a distance of 3 mm. Drill into the boards drainage holes every 4-5 cm. If you pickle cabbage in a container, there is no need to drill holes.
  5. The bars are now arranged vertically - they are the basis for the handles; fill one horizontal section in the middle.

The remaining slats are needed to make the lid. One of them needs to be secured along with the material to the edge of the box. Wrap the two remaining slats in polyethylene and secure the material with furniture nails. On one side, the material will be securely fastened to the box, and on the other, there will be a weight on it that allows you to stretch the film. Now all you have to do is pour soil into the box and start sowing or placing cuttings.
