I got this daylily two years ago as a result of re-cultivation. Actually, I bought the double daylily Patricia. And a nice bush grew with delicate double flowers lemon color, but the structure of the flower is not at all similar to its photo attached to the bag. But now I know why the Double River Vai variety is so widespread. It is growing very quickly. I planted a tiny bush, and on next year you have a large bush with beautiful double flowers, with those kind of lemon suns. In the photo the color turns out a little different, brighter, more saturated.
Like all daylilies, it requires almost no care; it’s not for nothing that daylilies are called the lazy man’s flower. Water from time to time if it is very hot, and don’t forget to feed occasionally. And he will thank you for it long flowering. Double River Vai blooms abundantly, the flowers are about 10-13 cm in size, very elegant. They look beautiful both growing separately and among other flowers.
Now everyone is carried away by new varieties of daylilies, but I would like to remember the old varieties of daylilies. These varieties have been tested by time and our Moscow region climate. They are completely winter-hardy, resistant to our weather conditions, are not affected by diseases and pests and, what is important, bloom profusely and brightly every year. These varieties reproduce well vegetatively by dividing the bush. At the same time, they fully retain their decorative qualities inherent in the variety. They are unpretentious and easy to care for, but with these advantages they look impressive in flower beds. They make ceremonial flower beds and individual bushes in the garden look very impressive. Of all the old varieties of double daylilies, I prefer two: "Fulva Kwanzo" and "Double Rive Vai" Double River Wye"). Let's remember these varieties and start with the variety "Fulva Kwanzo".
Daylily "Fulva Kwanzo" has a medium flowering period and blooms in early July for 35-40 days, forming bright orange double flowers with narrow fiery-colored petals and a red eye zone. The diameter of these bright colors 15 cm. On one branched peduncle, 1-3 buds simultaneously bloom with a pleasant, subtle aroma, making the daylily bloom abundantly. The height of the peduncles can reach 85-90 cm. It is dormant and therefore tolerates our Moscow Region winters and long autumns very well.

Now let’s remember the daylily variety “Double River Vai” (“Double River Wye"), the average flowering period, its buds begin to bloom from the end of July and bloom for almost 2 months, forming light yellow double flowers, with a green throat. The foliage is narrow, bright green in color and perfectly retains its decorative value throughout the season. The height of peduncles can reach 70 -80 cm. It winters well in our climate near Moscow. Always blooms profusely regardless of the severity of winter.
