There are ones that differ in the building materials for production: wood, metal and combined options. The heat insulator is selected for a specific type separately, taking into account its technical characteristics. The types of insulation and thermal insulation of outbuildings will be discussed in the article.

General rules for thermal insulation

To properly insulate a wooden outbuilding, certain rules are followed.

  1. First, we prevent heat loss through the roof - we cover the structure with a special film. Only after this can the roof be laid in the form of corrugated sheets or ondulin.
  2. To increase heat resistance, MDF panels are used, installed on special profiles. We fill the free space with a heat insulator of your choice.

Change houses made of metal have high stability to mechanical and other influences. Metal carcass completely protected from moisture by special flooring. But the roof of an outbuilding is often susceptible to corrosion processes. To prevent corrosion, it should be treated with a polymer-based coating or paint and varnish products.

Wall structures are sheathed with clapboard, block house or plastic panels. Thermal insulators are mineral wool or polyurethane foam. To prevent heat loss, cracks and joints are sealed with tongue and groove boards. Combined outbuildings are insulated in the same way.

Insulation materials

A change house without insulation will not perform all the functions and tasks for which it is intended. Therefore, you should carefully consider and select the insulation technology, as well as select a suitable insulator.

The modern market provides a variety of thermal insulation materials. Let's look at the most common ones in detail.

This type of heat insulator is mainly used to insulate walls. outbuildings. Foam insulation is beneficial when finishing wooden cabins. The material is resistant to moisture, simple and easy to install. Foam insulation has disadvantages: short service life and large volume for good insulation, and with low-quality products - significant heat loss. Several layers of polystyrene foam will reduce the area of the room, and improper use of the structure will lead to a fire.

Mineral wool and fiberglass

The advantages of materials are fire safety and excellent thermal insulation characteristics subject to all requirements technological process. If you install several layers of heat insulation, the acoustic properties of the rooms will increase. Disadvantages - the components are harmful to health.

Such fibers are produced through careful processing of basalt rocks. On the construction market, a common form of material is slabs, which can be easily cut to size and laid. The heat insulator is completely resistant to fire and does not undergo deformation processes for a long time. The easy-to-use material will not take up much free space, so the area of the shed will remain almost the same. The disadvantage is the many seams that remain after installing thermal insulation.

This thermal insulation material is the most common and effective for insulating commercial buildings. There are 2 types: liquid and hard. Experts recommend using the second option to increase heat capacity exterior finishing the buildings. It is great for strengthening roofing system and the outer part of the walls. Using the unique structure of polyurethane foam, it is possible to mask possible defects in the roofing system and increase the temperature in the structure.

Polyurethane foam is sometimes used in another way - by spraying it onto indoor cladding. It fills all the places where cold air penetrates, thereby providing maximum thermal insulation.

Advantages :

  • high level of heat resistance;
  • the material quickly becomes hard, which instantly stops heat loss;
  • laid flat, without seams or fasteners;
  • does not contain chemical substances, safe for health;
  • protects the coating from mechanical and other influences;
  • service life - from 30 years with proper use.

To implement proper insulation, need to know detailed technology and act in strict accordance with all stages of the thermal insulation process.

Do-it-yourself insulation of a cabin

Owners sometimes carry out thermal insulation of their cabins themselves. A simple insulation technology allows even an inexperienced person to correctly attach the thermal insulation material; the main thing is to follow the main points and first consult with an expert.

Thermal insulation of the cabin from the outside

In order for the insulation of walls to be successful and without additional costs, the owners carefully monitor the sequence of work carried out. Thermal insulation outside outbuildings begin with installing a layer of steam insulating material. For this purpose, materials such as polyethylene film, foil and others are used.

The main task of the vapor barrier layer is to ensure maximum ventilation of the façade of the building. If the surface for installation is too smooth, fasten the slats vertically, with their help the vapor barrier material will be held in place.

Now we begin to install the thermal insulation. Experts recommend using mineral wool or fiberglass products. For optimal protection of the building, two layers with a thickness of 10 centimeters each are enough, although when insulating a cabin for living in winter, an additional layer is fixed. Mineral wool does not need special attachment to the main surface: due to its rigidity, the slabs fit tightly to the vertical slats. Gaps and continuous joints are not allowed between them.

A special film is mounted on the heat insulator to provide waterproofing, which will prevent moisture from getting inside. Waterproofing material secured by furniture stapler. The film is overlapped by 10 centimeters to ensure maximum protection, the joints are sealed with special tape.

Internal thermal insulation

The next stage is insulation interior spaces cabins. Each owner of an outbuilding chooses the methods of insulation independently. Among the insulators for internal thermal insulation Cotton insulation is common in household buildings. It is environmentally friendly and safe. This material is difficult to cut, so the work will take quite a lot of time. Some owners use thermal insulation materials similar to products for external insulation.

When installing insulation, it is important to remember about arranging vents for quick removal the condensate that forms. Vents are located at the top and bottom of the wall. To enhance thermal insulation, the insulation is covered special material- penofol. Its surface creates a “thermos effect”.

Thermal insulation using penofol

To carry out high-quality insulation, penofol is fixed in solid parts, which significantly reduces the number of joints between pieces. All seams formed are carefully sealed with special tape to ensure maximum tightness.

To ensure maximum heat conservation, experts advise insulating the floor and ceiling. The whole process is similar to thermal insulation, which was described earlier. After finishing the internal insulation work, they think about the aesthetic design. Sheets of plasterboard are attached to the insulation, which level the surface and improve the quality of sound insulation. The fasteners are self-tapping screws and dowels. Instead of gypsum boards, fiberboards are sometimes used. Final stage– finishing of the cabin according to the owner’s preferences.

Foam is environmentally friendly safe material, which is not afraid of biological influences and does not cause an allergic reaction. For those who are interested in how to properly insulate a cabin with polystyrene foam, let us immediately say that this is quite easy to do, because this material is very light in weight, which does not require reinforcement of the load-bearing structures, and also, it can be processed with any tools.

The advantages of polystyrene foam also include the following nuances:

  • fire resistance;
  • durability;
  • moisture resistance;
  • not afraid of temperature changes.

The disadvantage of this insulation is the impossibility of filling some recesses or rounded configurations, because its sheets are quite rigid and do not bend. Because of this, condensation can accumulate in the voids, which leads to rotting of wooden structures and the formation of corrosion in metal ones.

Also take into account the fact that some paints and varnishes and drying oils can damage or even dissolve polystyrene foam. Exposure to direct sunlight also contributes to the gradual destruction of this insulation. To prevent this from happening, it must be carefully plastered on top with cement.

Before you insulate a cabin car from the outside with polystyrene foam, you should study its parameters, because some sheets will be useless for winter accommodation and are only suitable for packaging household appliances. IN in this case the PSB-S grade should be the fortieth grade. Then pay attention to the density and what edge you get when you break it. If the fracture site is uneven and small balls are visible, then it is a low-grade product. If there are regular polyhedra in this place, then you need to choose this particular polystyrene foam.

  • Penoplex and Technonickel;
  • Polimeri Europa;
  • Basf;
  • Styrochem, etc.

Mineral wool has an increased quality of thermal insulation and is resistant to fire. In addition, this material significantly improves sound insulation.

Mineral wool consists of randomly arranged fibers, which can be glass, slag or stone. Moreover, slag wool is not as environmentally friendly as others, but it can be taken with bare hands.

The advantages of this insulation are:

  • fire resistance;
  • soft material is quite durable;
  • does not allow heat to pass through in summer and retains heat for a long time in winter;
  • high coefficient of vapor permeability;
  • service life from 25 to 50 years.

When working with glass wool, it is necessary to observe safety precautions, because glass particles painfully dig into the skin. It is usually used in production.

Slag wool is now practically not used, but stone wool is now most in demand, because the basalt contained in its composition increases the quality of thermal insulation significantly. In addition, this type of mineral wool does not pose any danger during installation, does not burn or deform, but it is also more expensive than its analogues.

Mineral wool does not require special fastening - they fit quite tightly between the frame slats. You just need to make sure that the connecting lines are offset.

Unlike foam plastic, mineral wool Fills all the voids perfectly. Most summer residents prefer this type of insulation for their cabins.

Cotton insulation is one of the safest, environmentally friendly and high-quality insulation materials. It's difficult to cut, but other than that it's perfect.

There is a modern and very effective method of insulating wagons and containers. The quality and durability of this method have been tested in practice. We are talking about the insulation of wagons and containers with Ecotermix foamed urethane foam, which is supplied to work surface under pressure, increases many times in a few seconds, and hardens, creating a dense porous protective covering, durable and capable of protecting carriages and containers from heat loss for several decades. It is durability, ease of application and high thermal protection parameters that have made Ecotermix polyurethane foam so popular in the construction and insulation of wagons and containers.

IMPORTANT: the service life of foamed polyurethane is equal to or exceeds the service life of wagons and containers, i.e. Having insulated a wagon and container with PPU Ecotermix once, you won’t have to return to this issue again - this is the right savings when choosing materials for insulating wagons and containers

Advantages of Ecotermix insulation for insulating wagons and containers:

  • Ecotermix polyurethane foam is completely safe
  • Polyurethane foam insulation does not burn and does not support fire
  • Foam Ecotermix - spray-on insulation for quick application
  • It is very easy to work with Ecotermix polyurethane foam
  • Any surface can be insulated with polyurethane foam
  • Ecotermix insulation is not afraid of temperature changes

The service life of polyurethane foam is equal to or exceeds the service life of wagons and containers

Thermal insulation of cars is important both to prevent heat loss and to maintain the required temperature and microclimate inside the car. This is especially true when transporting goods of certain parameters, for which the conditions and temperature of transportation are relevant. In this case, it is necessary to take into account what climatic zones these cars will move through. This is what will allow us to decide which technology for insulating cars is permissible and sufficient to use in this case.

Stages of insulation of covered wagons in the classical way:

  1. Thorough drying of the car surface.
  2. Warming up the car from the inside to a temperature of +15C.
  3. Sealing the working surface of the body in the car.
  4. Filling voids and joints with polyurethane foam.
  5. Installation of lathing in the form of wooden blocks.
  6. Installation wooden sheathing on the sides and end of the carriage.
  7. Installation of double polyethylene film in height.
  8. Laying foam in 4 layers.
  9. Checking the tightness of the foam insulation installation.
  10. The ceiling of the car is insulated with 10-13 sheets of foam plastic.
  11. Formation of insulation waterproofing using polyethylene film.
  12. Installation of additional three layers of polystyrene foam.

At the same time, the floor of the car is also insulated with foam plastic in 3-4 layers and covered with hardboard on top. This is the method used to insulate cars using polystyrene foam and polyurethane foam. Of course, it is much simpler and more effective to insulate a car with sprayed thermal insulation based on polyurethane foam from the Ecotermix line.

Measures for additional insulation of wagons and containers

Additional insulation of wagons and containers is designed to solve the following pressing problems of railway cargo transportation:

  • Stabilize the effects of environmental temperature changes
  • Maintain the required temperature conditions for the duration of cargo transportation
  • Be able to transport temperature-sensitive cargo without hindrance
  • Maintain the quality of goods transported by rail
  • Prevent liquids, vegetables, fruits, and herbs from freezing
  • Deliver medications that require special temperature conditions transportation

It should be remembered that a properly insulated carriage and transportation container allows you to transport any cargo over significant distances. The possible option depends on the type of cargo. additional insulation wagon and container.

Types of container insulation:

  • Single additional insulation of the car
  • Double special insulation of the container

Single container insulation can be done classical method using foam insulation. In this case, the foam joints are sealed polyurethane foam based on polyurethane. It is better to take foam plastic 5 cm thick. This will be a good single insulation of the car with foam plastic.

Expert advice: For the best effect when transporting a number of goods, it is required double insulation wagon with foam plastic. In this case, insulation is done with polystyrene foam in two layers. Taken foam boards 5 cm thick and applied in two layers without cracks or gaps. Any gaps are sealed with polyurethane foam.

Insulation of wagons and containers can also be done using polyethylene film. Thermal insulation of cars with film and foam plastic – classic methods It is cheap to insulate cars, but sometimes the quality of such insulation leaves much to be desired. The best option– modern Ecotermix thermal insulation for carriages.

The customer can choose how to insulate wagons and containers for transporting goods. The main thing is that the materials for insulating cars are environmentally friendly and belong to the category of environmentally friendly insulation materials.

Proper insulation technology

Modern technology for insulating cars allows containers to be insulated using penoizol. This is good thermal insulation for cars, which has a number of features during its installation. The advantage of penoizol is its affordable price and long service life of insulation based on peniozol.

In fact, penoizol is nothing more than liquid foam.

Methods for insulating cars with foam insulation

Insulating cars with foam insulation is an improved classic method of insulating foam. In fact, penoizol is nothing more than liquid foam. Insulation based on penoizol has the following competitive characteristics:

  • Penoizol is an environmentally friendly material
  • This is a fireproof insulation for carriages
  • They can be used to insulate walls, floors and ceilings in a carriage.
  • A car insulated with foam insulation needs to be heated much less frequently.
  • Penoizol - odorless insulation
  • Penoizol-based insulation recovers after compression
  • This insulation can be cut with a knife, special thread or string.

Additional characteristics of penoizol are:

  • Penoizol has a service life of up to 70 years
  • This is insulation with a high vapor permeability coefficient
  • The insulation does not dry out or swell when wet
  • Penoizol easily parted with the resulting moisture without loss of properties
  • Polystyrene foam is good soundproofing material for wagons
  • Penoizol is not accessible to insects and rodents

Due to its porous structure, liquid foam retains heat well and creates a comfortable level of sound insulation. It is able to work well and protect the car from heat loss for 50-70 years.

Penoizol release forms:

  • Penoizol in the form of special slabs for insulation
  • Penoizol crumbs
  • Jellied penoizol

Penoizol insulation and what it looks like:

How does jellied penoizol work?

Jellied penoizol creates excellent thermal insulation coating without a single seam. But working with him is not so easy. Penoizol is poured directly onto the working surface; if we are talking about insulating cars, then it is necessary to specially prepare cavities into which penoizol will then be poured. The poured liquid penoizol hardens within a few hours (this usually takes 2-3 hours). After hardening in specially prepared cavities, penoizol creates a thermal insulation coating without a single seam.

Benefits of penoizol?

Penoizol can be prepared directly on site and poured into prepared cavities using a hose. Moreover, when pumping, penoizol is evenly distributed over the insulated surface, and after hardening it turns into an even insulation without seams or cracks.

What to choose, Ecotermix or penoizol?

It is worth noting that sprayed thermal insulation performed using Ecotermix and liquid foam insulation has a number of similar advantages. Both insulation materials are capable of forming an even seamless coating no cracks or creases. Materials based on polyurethane foam (Ecotermix insulation for wagons) and penoizol (foam insulation for wagons) can serve throughout the entire service life of the wagons without replacement. Penoizol, like polyurethane foam, does not require careful surface preparation.

Expert advice: These insulation materials can be applied to any material, it can be metal, plastic, wood, concrete. The only limitation is polyethylene.

Additionally, there is no need to waterproof and protect the insulation from moisture and condensation if we are talking about polyurethane foam or foam insulation. They are universal in their own way. When applied to metal, these insulation materials begin to work as anti-corrosion compounds. In the Ecotermix product line there are really only multifunctional preparations for thermal insulation.

Warm trailer - country house

An interesting option for using an insulated carriage is to adapt it as a country house. Warm carriage – great option even accommodation all year round. Enterprising summer residents have long understood how to use insulated carriages or containers at their dachas. Many people know that properly insulated carriages can withstand the most severe frosts and retain heat inside. It is thanks to these properties of insulation in areas Far North workers, search teams, specialists of various profiles live in cars insulated with classical and modern methods.

Caravan for winter

When it comes to the domestic use of insulated trailers, you need to decide in advance whether the trailer is needed only for summer use in summer season, or it will serve as a home and winter period. The technology for insulating the trailer will be different in both cases. For example, for the winter use case, when insulating a trailer using the classical method, a wider beam is used, which will hold a sufficient amount of thermal insulation material and a more substantial roof structure.

We must not forget that in the carriage it is necessary to insulate not only the walls, but also mandatory floor and ceiling. The floor is the surface in direct contact with the ground, and the ceiling should prevent the escape of heat that rises when heating the trailer from the inside. An unprotected roof gives everything away internal heat V environment and such a trailer needs to be constantly heated, which is very expensive.

IMPORTANT: Insulation of a cottage trailer from the inside must be done immediately during its production, otherwise it should be done later good thermal insulation it won't be easy at all

With additional insulation of the trailer after its manufacture using standard methods using polystyrene foam, the trailer skin will need to be disassembled and foam boards attached. The thickness of the foam should not be less than 5 cm. As you can see, this method is quite labor-intensive. The current materials for quick, high-quality and durable insulation of a trailer for the winter are insulation based on polyurethane foam. They are quickly applied and do not require fasteners or complex installation insulation.

What is the difference between a change house and an insulated trailer?

An insulated country trailer and a cabin for workers on a construction site are different structures. The principle of heating a cabin is a stove with a pipe going out the window, due to the heat of which the uninsulated cabin was heated. A properly insulated trailer is a real house for year-round residence. The main advantage of a country trailer is its price. Building a house is much more expensive than buying and insulating a trailer for a summer residence.

Advantages of modular technology for assembling a trailer for a summer residence?

Nowadays, modular technology is often used in the production of cottage trailers. Modular technology for constructing and insulating a trailer has the following advantages:

  • The block module can be divided into sections
  • You can assemble one large sectionless room
  • It is easier to insulate block modules
  • The price of a trailer with insulation depends on the number of modules
  • You can calculate in advance how much a trailer with insulation costs

What materials are best used to insulate a cottage trailer?

The classic technology for insulating a cottage trailer is mineral wool or polystyrene foam. These are cheap materials for safe and fire-resistant insulation of a cottage trailer. You can insulate a trailer with mineral wool or polystyrene foam yourself using a special technology for attaching heat-insulating materials. You can also insulate a cottage trailer using polystyrene foam. Expanded polystyrene is one of the more modern materials for insulating a trailer for a summer residence.

A good thermal insulation material is polyurethane foam. It is environmentally friendly, harmless and can be quickly applied to any surface without special preparation. The service life of products based on polyurethane foam (for example, the Ecotermix product line) allows you to insulate the trailer with polyurethane foam once and use the trailer without additional insulation. This is the most cheap way insulation of a cottage trailer for its entire service life.

Professional insulation of wagons and containers

Specialists from companies involved in the insulation of wagons and containers professional basis, it is advised to insulate wagons and containers only with light modern materials increased density. Such insulation materials include Ecotermix foam, whose thermal insulation properties truly unique. Ecotermix thermal insulating foam not only protects the container from frost, but also helps to preserve desired temperature V summer heat, that is, the main advantage of Ecotermix insulation is that it helps maintain the desired microclimate in the car and container.

Ecotermix thermal insulating foam not only protects the container from frost, but also helps maintain the desired temperature in the summer heat

Before choosing a technology for insulating a wagon or container, you need to know what kind of cargo will be transported. The thickness of the insulation layer that needs to be made for high-quality insulation of surfaces depends on this. In the case of polyurethane foam, the thickness of the layer can be adjusted. To do this, each layer of PPU insulation is given time to harden and dry before applying a new layer.

You can observe the easy and quick application of all-foam polyurethane foam from Ecotermix:

Proven technology for insulating carriages

Insulation of wagons with polyurethane foam can be considered a new, but already proven technology for insulating wagons and containers. Practice has shown that Ecotermix insulation works well when transporting goods that require special temperature conditions. At the same time, the advantage of polyurethane foam is its impressive service life. Ecotermix polyurethane foam serves for 50-70 years without loss of consumer properties.

Ecotermix insulation works great when transporting goods that require special temperature conditions.

Thus, having made Ecotermix thermal insulation in a carriage or container, you can use it throughout its entire service life without replacing the insulation and without installing additional thermal insulation.

In addition, polyurethane foam is optimal solution for thermal insulation of any objects. It is great for , and , as well as for private and apartment buildings, all types of transport, industrial facilities

The change house belongs to the category of temporary technical structures that are installed at the venue construction work, and serves to store various equipment there, building materials, as well as the presence of working personnel there. As a rule, construction is carried out during the warm season. Then it may not be insulated. But if construction is delayed and moves into the winter, then it’s worth thinking about insulating the cabin.

After the construction of any objects is completed, the change house is most often dismantled due to its uselessness. But enterprising land owners often adapt it for other purposes.

After a little improvement, it can turn out to be an excellent bathhouse or a good one. country house, barn or other utility room. This is where the need for insulation of such a structure arises. Metal and wooden cabins are usually insulated from the outside and from the inside. We will consider these questions in more detail.

Currently, any specialized retail outlet can offer a large assortment insulation materials with their own properties and qualities. Let's look at the main ones:

Polystyrene foam or polystyrene foam

Environmentally friendly material, resistant to biological effects, does not cause negative influence on human health, is not an allergen.

Easy to install, light weight, no need to reinforce bearing structures change houses, processed with any available tools. Has such positive qualities, as fire resistance, moisture resistance, durability, and resistant to significant temperature changes. There are few disadvantages, but they exist: it is difficult to fill certain recesses and does not fit well with rounded structures, the sheets are of significant rigidity and practically do not bend. This can create condensation in the recesses and the wooden structures will become covered with fungus. Metal elements corrosion may occur.

As for polystyrene foam, he is afraid paint and varnish materials and drying oil, which is able to dissolve it. Direct Sun rays have a negative impact on the condition of this material, up to complete destruction. To avoid these negative consequences, expanded polystyrene must be plastered on top with cement.

There are foam sheets that are not at all suitable for insulation purposes and winter frosts they can't stand it. Such sheets are most often packaged Appliances for transportation. The best manufacturers This material is considered to be Technonickel and Penoplex, Bast, Polimeri Europa, Styrochem.

Mineral wool

It has improved thermal insulation properties and is quite resistant to fire. Has good noise insulation properties.

This insulation consists of fibers arranged randomly. They are made of slag, glass, and stone. Slag wool is not environmentally friendly compared to other options, but special gloves are not required for its installation, and it will not harm your hands. This material is fire resistant, sufficiently soft and durable. In the summer months it does not allow heat to pass through, and in cold winter keeps the heat inside. Famous high coefficient vapor tightness.

The service life is quite long and ranges from 25 to 50 years. If you decide to use glass wool, you must follow safety rules when working with it and use special gloves. This material is mainly used in production processes. Slag wool can be found quite rarely, but stone wool is very popular. The presence of basalt in it helps to increase the thermal insulation properties significantly.

This material is completely safe for humans: it does not burn and does not deform. Its cost is significant. Special fastening for mineral wool is not purchased. It fits tightly under the frame slats. All voids can be filled with mineral wool, which is why summer residents prefer it when insulating their cabins.

Cotton insulation
Environmentally friendly material with high quality and excellent thermal insulation. Available in the form of mats or slabs of various parameters.

Reduces noise well. The disadvantage is its high flammability, so before installing it it is worth impregnating it with fire retardants. It is quite difficult to attach, but it holds the heat perfectly.

Peat blocks

The main component of this material is peat and waste from woodworking (shavings, sawdust). This material is suitable for insulation interior walls, the outside of the structure, as well as the floor. It is considered fire-resistant and safe material.

Positive characteristics include: there is no need to equip waterproofing layers, since it is not afraid of moisture, excellent thermal conductivity, low weight, low cost, long term services. It can be classified as a high-strength, anti-radiation, antibactericidal material. Retains its high vapor permeability throughout its entire service life (about 100 years). Easily processed with hand tools.

Cork insulation

It is the bark of a cork tree, ground, pressed and steamed. The bonding of crushed particles occurs with the help of a resin released under the influence of high temperature. Considered environmentally friendly pure material. Available in the form thin slabs or canvases.

It is worth dwelling on the following advantages: low coefficient of thermal conductivity, non-flammability, high antiseptic properties (prevents mold and fungi from multiplying), sufficient elasticity, antistatic and absorbs noise well. They insulate both internal and external surfaces.

Ecowool

The name speaks for itself and its main advantage is environmental friendliness. This is possible due to the presence of waste paper and cellulose (75%) in its composition. Sometimes cork waste and straw are added. That is, its production is based on recyclable materials. To reduce its flammability, it is treated with fire retardants. But this material is not without its drawbacks and the main one is its strong ability to absorb moisture. It is also susceptible to rotting and fungus formation.
Linen insulation "Ekoteplin"

Produced in the form of linen mats, used for insulation of premises both outside and inside. inside. It does not emit toxins, therefore it is considered completely safe for human health.

Enough environmentally friendly material with a long service life reaching more than half a century. It does not grow mold and mildew, it is not popular with rodents and insect pests, which contributes to its complete safety throughout its entire service life. It practically does not burn, but when nearby objects ignite, it can maintain combustion.

Requirements for insulation for cabins

In order for the material to fulfill its main task - to make the room warm and cozy, it must have certain properties and the following requirements must be imposed on it:

  • at high temperature no open flame should appear;
  • complete safety for human life and health (especially if people are expected to sleep in the insulated cabin);
  • good wear-resistant qualities;
  • long service life.

You can insulate your shed using several options:

  • universal insulating material isospan;
  • thermal insulation Knauf;
  • internal heat insulator devices;
  • installation of external insulation;
  • placement of insulation between walls (for frame cabins).

Methods of wall insulation

Insulating materials can be installed inside the walls only if the cabin was originally adapted for this. If such a possibility was not initially provided, then change finished design almost impossible. If you insulate walls from the inside, it reduces effective area premises. Therefore, this option is not acceptable for buildings with small dimensions.

There are also thermal insulation materials that, due to their technical characteristics, cannot be installed inside buildings. So, you cannot choose the material for internal insulation, if it may emit harmful substances during operation or there are doubts about its environmental friendliness.

Before you start insulating your shed, you need to acquire the following tools and equipment:

  • the insulation itself;
  • glue;
  • polyurethane foam;
  • putty;
  • an ordinary hammer;
  • hammer drill;
  • metal spatula;
  • base profile;
  • primer;
  • disc dowels;
  • reinforced mesh;
  • buckets;
  • gloves;
  • level;
  • foam saw;
  • with a knife;
  • foam grater;
  • forests;
  • goats.

This list is not exhaustive and other tools and accessories may be needed.

Do-it-yourself insulation of a cabin - step-by-step instructions

All actions related to the insulation of a cabin are carried out step by step, following certain stages.

Warming a room starts from the floor. To do this you must have:

  • mineral wool (let's take it as an example);
  • wooden beam 50mm x 50mm;
  • a product that prevents damage by wood insects;
  • vapor barrier film.

The base of the floor is freed from debris and dust and treated with a protective emulsion. The timber is treated with the same substance. As soon as the floor is dry, it is laid vapor barrier film, with the glossy side facing subfloor. At a distance of 15 cm from the walls, the beams are screwed with self-tapping screws. The distance between them should be about 15cm. The free space between the beams is filled with mineral wool.

The PVC film is attached to the top using a stapler. At the very end, OSB is nailed.

These actions are done outside the object. Before insulation, sheets of ondulin or slate must be dismantled. First, mineral wool is laid, and then the roof covering is put back.

If insulation from the outside is impossible or will cause certain difficulties, you can attach mineral wool from the inside. This process will be the same as floor insulation, only it is stuffed on top wooden lining. If the wooden lining on the sheathing is already installed, then it will not be difficult to fill it with materials for insulation.

Insulated cabin

Before you start insulating the walls, you need to treat them with a solution that does not allow fungus to form. Once the walls are dry, the beams are mounted vertically. Mineral wool is attached between them using a stapler. Instead of mineral wool, you can also use polystyrene foam, but this material is used mainly for insulating wooden cabins.

It must be kept in mind that wooden structure, upholstered with foam plastic, may bloom after a while, so you need to take the choice of insulation seriously.

Afterwards, the mineral wool is covered with clapboard or large-width façade boards.

Change house finished with clapboard

Experts recommend thermal insulation of the cabin, regardless of what material it was made of: wood, metal or a combination. Thermal insulation work is carried out both outside and inside the premises.

To prevent heat from escaping through the windows winter time, it is necessary to compact them. This procedure uses silicone. For this purpose, you must first dismantle the glazing beads and apply sealant under them thin layer. This will make it possible to keep the room warm. How Alternative option You can install double-glazed windows in the cabin.

You can also watch all the main stages of insulating a cabin with your own hands in the video:

Conclusion

The costs that must be incurred to insulate a cabin can vary. This depends on the chosen insulation, the size of the cabin, the material from which it is made and the subsequent intended purpose. If you turn to professional teams, insulating a structure can cost at least 100,000 rubles. But you can do this kind of work yourself, you just need to have the desire, free time and some experience in the construction industry.
