The kitchen is the center of the house, the corner of the hearth where the whole family gathers. Kitchen renovation is an interesting process, and if you do it yourself, it’s also profitable.

When planning a renovation, the first thing you need to start with is to think through the design of your dream kitchen, taking into account your financial capabilities.

Project selection and planning

Renovations in the kitchen, like renovations in any room, must begin with measuring and inspecting the condition of the room:

  • take the dimensions of the kitchen: length, height and width;
  • measure window and doorways, and their distance from the walls, ceiling and floor;
  • determine the location of sockets;
  • places of water supply, sewerage, ventilation and gas riser (if any).

If the kitchen is small, then measurements must be taken as accurately as possible, otherwise any error may lead to the door not closing or other troubles.

After the measurements have been taken, you should decide on the design, color scheme and draw up a plan for the location of furniture and equipment, in accordance with communications and sockets. You need to choose furniture in advance and know its exact dimensions. The layout of the premises is carried out in the following order:

  • communications;
  • equipment;
  • furniture.

Pay special attention to the location of the stove and ventilation. An incorrectly positioned hood can lead to poor ventilation not only for you, but also for your neighbors.

Required if available gas equipment- the stove and gas boiler should be at a distance of 80 cm from each other, and the stove from the refrigerator 60 cm. It is better to hang a microwave in a small kitchen on the wall, under the cabinet.

Selecting the necessary, inexpensive material

When choosing a material, you should take into account not only the price, but also the quality, so that you don’t have to redo the repairs in a year. Today the building materials market is huge, you can choose budget and high-quality products.

Suitable for the ceiling: plastic panels, wallpaper, paint, drywall and putty.

You can lay on the floor:

  • linoleum - easy to care for and moisture resistant;
  • ceramic tiles - they are durable and moisture resistant;
  • laminate is low-maintenance, affordable and easy to install.

You will need a variety of materials for the walls, because you need to highlight the work area. The most durable and relatively inexpensive will be the finish working area ceramic tiles. It looks good and is easy to clean, which is very important, since this area of the kitchen is most susceptible to contamination. Finishing with special panels is possible; designers usually resort to them when installing kitchen units.

The amount of material required must be calculated in advance for the entire repair, having thought through all the details. Firstly, you can edit and adjust the costs of materials to the budget allocated for repairs. In addition, if during the repair process something is missing and you have to interrupt it, then not only will the repair be delayed, but you may simply not find exactly that material.

Necessary tool

When starting repairs, you should stock up on tools that may be required during the work process. The list of tools depends on the planned types of repair work.

You will definitely need a tape measure at the very beginning to measure the room. The main tools for any repair are:

  • building level and plumb line - necessary for surface control;
  • screwdriver, pliers, crowbar, chisel, hammer, nail puller - will be needed for dismantling work and removing old finishes;
  • scissors or knife - for cutting wallpaper, glass cutter - for glass, stationery knife- for drywall, and for ceramic tiles- tile cutter;
  • you can’t do without a trowel or spatula when applying plaster;
  • brush (round, flat), roller - for applying wallpaper glue or for painting.

To make work easier, you can use power tools: electric drill, hammer drill, grinder, electric plane, jigsaw.

In addition to these tools, you may need special ones designed for certain types works Typically, these are works related to the floor or ceiling.

In addition, rags, buckets, brushes and garbage bags should always be available.

Preparatory stage

Having purchased all the materials and selected the tools, you should start preparing the room. Preparatory work consists of:

  • in clearing the premises of furniture and household appliances;
  • in the kitchen blackout - required condition to ensure safety, lighting and connection of devices should be carried out using an extension cord;
  • in dismantling doors, windows and old finishing (floor, walls and ceiling).

IN old kitchen everything is saturated with greasy fumes, so cleaning should be done in three stages: stripping off the old finish, washing and impregnation. Before peeling, you first need to soften the surface. Plaster and water-based paint using water, oil surfaces using a special composition.

Then be sure to rinse the surfaces with water detergent, adding 5% table vinegar.

The final stage is impregnation with a primer, for deep penetration. This procedure should be done twice every other day.

Electrical wiring and installation of sockets

When laying the wiring and determining the number of sockets and their location, you should proceed from the electrical appliances that are planned in the kitchen. Sockets must be accessible to all equipment. It is better to install one or two more sockets.

If there is a need to lay new wiring, then you should contact a specialist to avoid troubles in the future.

Replacing communication

Plumbing is an important part for the smooth functioning of the kitchen. If it is worn out, it is better to replace it.

Use polypropylene pipes; they are affordable, corrosion resistant and easy to install.

Metal-plastic pipes, are also resistant to corrosion, but installation is quite complicated.

The most durable are copper, they are resistant to temperature changes and deformation, but are expensive.

It is recommended to install the pipes closer to the wall or hide them under the wall cladding, so they will not spoil general interior kitchens. Replace outdated cast iron batteries with modern aluminum structures; they will fit well into the new design.

Windows and doors

If the window is wooden and its replacement was not planned, then the work is simplified. You can only clean the frame of old paint and cover it with fresh paint.

If you need to change the window, you should decide on the material:

  • wooden - environmentally friendly, but much more expensive;
  • plastic - durable, resistant to temperature changes, sealed and affordable.

When installing a new window, be sure to consider a ventilation option that is convenient for you.

In accordance with the intended design, a door to the kitchen is installed or an arch is made. Doors can also be:

  • wooden - natural, environmentally friendly. They are expensive, but they look great;
  • plastic ones are practical, have high sound insulation and are much cheaper than wooden ones.

The arch can be made of wood or plasterboard, it all depends on the chosen design. The main thing is that it fits into the overall interior of the room.

If you do not have the skills to install windows and doors, then it is better to invite specialists.

Finishing work

After completing all the work of cleaning the room from the old finish and removing the garbage, you can begin the finishing process. As with renovations in any room, you need to start decorating the kitchen from the ceiling.

Ceiling

The ceiling in the kitchen must meet the following requirements:

  • be resistant to temperature changes;
  • keep children out so that germs do not spread in the ceilings;
  • easy to wash;
  • preferably, the possibility of partial repair.

Currently, there are many options for finishing the ceiling, it all depends on your decision and design:

  • Painted - paint can be applied to brick, concrete and plaster, it dries quickly and is not expensive, but its service life is not long. It is better to take waterproof paint.
  • Wallpaper is also an inexpensive option; it can be plain or painted. They look good when washed, and they are also resistant to steam and soot.
  • Suspended - more modern version, it is possible to manufacture multi-level structures (if height allows). It comes from plasterboard - it is easy to install, fire resistant, hides unevenness, and is suitable for building in lighting. The downside is that it reduces the ceiling height. Rack and pinion suspended ceiling, also has all of the above qualities, but it is more difficult to install.
  • From polystyrene foam tiles - a budget option. Easy to install, does not reduce ceiling height, is resistant to moisture and has a long service life, but is not considered environmentally friendly. When gluing it, it is necessary to make the correct markings, the central tile - exactly in the center of the ceiling.
  • Tension ones are the most fashionable option. Hides all ceiling imperfections, protects against flooding from above, and is easy to clean. The disadvantage is that it is relatively expensive and cannot be done with your own hands; certain skills and special equipment are required.

It is better to use for the ceiling bright hues, this will give height.

Walls

There is no limit to imagination when decorating walls. But we need to start with their alignment. Simple and cheap option- puttying walls. If the kitchen is large, then drywall is ideal; it will hide all the errors. Are being done plasterboard walls in several stages:

  • mounted metal carcass;
  • drywall is attached with self-tapping screws;
  • joints are glued with reinforced tape;
  • drywall is plastered and sonnet 12 hours;
  • primer treatment is done;
  • Now you can paint, wallpaper, etc.

The simplest way, but with many possibilities, is painting. The color can be different, depending on your interior, monochromatic or a combination of several colors. Glossy paint is easier to clean, but if there are imperfections on the surface, it highlights them. Therefore, designers recommend matte or semi-matte paint.

The second option is wallpaper, and it is better if it is vinyl or non-woven. Their advantage is that they wash well and are durable, and non-woven ones are also environmentally friendly. Also, designers often recommend using glass wallpaper for the kitchen. In addition to all the qualities mentioned above, they are fire resistant.

Ceramic tiles are common for kitchen walls and come in a wide variety. It is easy to clean and durable, however, installation will take a lot of time. It is recommended to lay tiles only in the work area.

The most expensive method is plastering. Plaster can be structural or textured. With it you can create different patterns and ornaments, and give the kitchen a special personality.

It is possible to use several methods of wall decoration in one kitchen for different zones.

Floor

The floor is the final stage in the renovation. Regardless of the type of floor you choose, if you want a perfectly flat floor, you should start with leveling. In the process of preparatory work, the old floor should already be dismantled and now it is necessary to set the beacon using a level. Then the floor is poured cement mortar. When dry, use a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and debris. Now you can lay the flooring material:

  • Laminate flooring is easy to install, inexpensive, and easy to maintain. You need to choose a quality, moisture-resistant one. Placed on a substrate.
  • Parquet is expensive and demanding to maintain. May be damaged by grease and heat, so it is not recommended for the kitchen. Can also be laid on a substrate.
  • Linoleum - inexpensive option. Moisture-resistant, durable and easy to maintain. Linoleum is laid on glue.
  • Tiles are the most optimal option for the kitchen. Easy to clean, durable, moisture resistant. The tiles are laid on the glue. It is recommended to connect a warm floor under the tiles.
  • Cork is an environmentally friendly, warm material that is not afraid of dust or moisture. It looks very impressive, but can swell from spilled liquid.
  • Batten- a good, environmentally friendly option, but a fire hazard, like parquet and laminate. Fits on joists.
  • Marmoleum - modern, decorative material. It is bactericidal, easy to clean, does not burn, and has a long service life. Its main advantage is that installation does not require special surface preparation.

After laying the floor, baseboards are made. Skirting boards in the kitchen are more practical than decorative; they protect the grooves from contamination. Experts recommend using liquid nails or silicone glue when installing them.

Budget Kitchen Style Options

You need to choose a kitchen design based on your desires, but there are a number of points to consider:

  • square;
  • how many people will use it;
  • how often do you cook?
  • how much time are you willing to spend on cleaning?

When choosing a budget style, options such as baroque, avant-garde, and expressionism are not suitable. But it’s inexpensive and easy to make your own interior in the following styles:

  • minimalism - light shades, a large amount of free space and unpretentious objects;
  • Provence - with delicate, small patterns, the presence of wood and decorative elements;
  • country - where wood predominates and there are no frills;
  • loft - brickwork and elements of ease.

All these options will look great in small kitchens and the implementation of such ideas will not require large financial expenditures. In addition, modern style does not allow for diversity; it is better to play with contrast.

Furniture selection

When choosing furniture, you need to proceed from your desires, functionality and size of the kitchen. It is important to organize the room correctly.

Basic moments:

  • do not overload;
  • use functional furniture;
  • presence of built-in equipment;
  • wall cabinets and shelves;
  • single countertop for sink, hob and work surface;
  • preference for light colors.

If the area is small, you should not try to install a full-fledged set, you can build wooden shelving for the arrangement of containers (in Provence style), it will look original.

Today the furniture market has a large selection in terms of models and color range. You can buy a ready-made set or make it to order. The set can be either on one wall or corner. Household appliances should be selected to suit your needs.

Preference in furniture should be given to simple, rectangular shapes. Glossy options look elegant and create a feeling of lightness. Designers often abandon the handles on the headset, and open it by pressing. In addition, replacement dining table on the bar counter makes the interior more modern.

If the kitchen is large, it can be divided into zones: cooking and dining. For a dining room, a table and a soft corner would look good.

The selection of furniture must be done during planning, before starting renovation work.

Carrying out repairs

Kitchen renovations are divided into cosmetic or major. At capital premises can be rescheduled and changed beyond recognition. Cosmetic may affect the walls, ceiling, floor, but without major changes in the room.

Let's consider modern renovation DIY kitchens step by step, as well as options and ideas that can be used at each stage.

Step 1 - Drawing up a design project

Serious problems can arise if you start repairs without having a plan for the upcoming work. You can start drawing up a design project yourself, or entrust it to a professional. In any design project, the arrangement of furniture, color scheme, lighting and stylistic design are thought through. In addition, you can roughly calculate in advance what budget will be needed to renovate the kitchen and in what color the renovation will be done: red, white, dark or any other.

Step 2 - Cleaning the space and removing old finishes

When the design issue has been resolved, the kitchen must be completely emptied of all existing household appliances and furniture. Afterwards, the dismantling of the finishing from the ceiling, walls and floor begins.

Step 3 - Plumbing work

This stage should be given Special attention, especially if it is necessary to completely replace all plumbing fixtures. Pipes should be installed closer to the wall or hidden behind it. Instead of cast iron battery should be installed modern design. The pipeline can be made of metal-plastic, polypropylene or copper.

It should be taken into account that polypropylene pipeline does not require installation of gaskets, and is inexpensive. Metal-plastic pipes are characterized by low heat transfer, rigid construction and are not subject to corrosion. Installation is not easy, and many components are used.

In terms of durability, the copper pipeline occupies a leading position, capable of withstanding very high and very low temperatures, and is also not subject to deformation. But such pipes are expensive.

Step 4 - Electrical work

In the process of replacing electrical wiring, it is necessary to take into account the degree of load in the kitchen with electrical appliances. It is advisable to have a separate power line with a large number of sockets. You should also install spotlights to illuminate individual zones.

It is worth contacting a professional if you plan to install gas equipment, or complete replacement wiring.

Step 5 - Window Replacement

If you need to replace a window, you should determine what type of window it will be - wooden or plastic. Today, plastic is more durable, since it is resistant to temperature changes and other aggressive factors, and, in addition, it does not require additional care. In combination with double-glazed windows, the PVC profile provides good sound and heat insulation.

But they are considered more environmentally friendly wooden windows. They “breathe”, but their cost is higher.

Step 6 - Installing the Door

In the kitchen you can install a door or make an arch; you can choose both plastic and wooden doors for installation. Greater resistance to external factors are plastic doors. They do not deform, do not dry out, and are moisture resistant, airtight, and have high heat and sound insulation. Such doors can be purchased at an affordable price.

But plastic ones are significantly inferior wooden doors in terms of environmental safety and naturalness. In addition, today the latest wood processing technologies are used, thanks to which the performance properties of wood can be significantly improved.

If you decide to make an arch, then it can be made of plasterboard or, as an option, install a frill made of wood.

Step 7 - Leveling the Walls

In the kitchen, leveling the walls can be done in two ways: plastering or using drywall. Each of these methods has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Installation of drywall is simple and does not require much time. The result is a homogeneous, flat wall. Thanks to drywall, you can hide significant unevenness on the surface. But it has its drawback: due to drywall, the thickness of the wall increases, and it turns out to be hollow and hollow.

When using plaster, the surface will be smooth and monolithic. But this material will be impractical in rooms where there are uneven walls. This is due to the fact that then the costs of the material will increase and the installation process itself will be more labor-intensive.

Step 8 - Decorating the apron

At the stage of designing the apron and kitchen facade, you can use plastic and MDF panels, tiles, artificial stone or mosaics. The use of plastic and MDF panels is the most budget option.

The most hygienic and durable material counts tile. Original idea- the apron can be made of mirror or glass.

Where to begin?

Arrangement of the kitchen space - not an easy task. Probably, when the thought of reorganizing the premises arises, many questions pour in. For example, how to properly renovate a kitchen, how to beautifully renovate a kitchen, etc. There is no need to rush to buy building materials and tear down walls. You need to start with detailed plan. In the next paragraph we will talk about this in more detail.

The procedure for performing work during major repairs

Let's make a consistent plan. It can be used as the basis for a budget DIY kitchen renovation. To achieve the main goal, you will have to complete several small ones. Here possible order actions:

  1. We free up the space as much as possible. The more furniture you remove, the easier it is to take measurements.
  2. We assess the condition of walls, communications, windows, doors, floors and ceilings.
  3. We take accurate measurements.
  4. The next step is to plan where large household appliances will be placed.
  5. Primary selection of kitchen furniture: size, functionality, installation location.
  6. Thorough cleaning of the room, cleaning all surfaces from dirt and dust, treating mold (if necessary).
  7. Repair the basic floor surface (update).
  8. Similar to the previous point, only now the ceiling needs to be repaired.
  9. Repairing old or installing new communications.
  10. Checking ventilation.
  11. Replacement or restoration of windows and doors.
  12. Finishing the room “from top to bottom”: starting from the ceiling and ending with the floor and installation of the baseboard.
  13. Equipment installation, headset installation, lighting fixtures.
  14. Connecting all systems and checking their functionality.

We looked at where to start renovating a kitchen with your own hands and its sequence. Now let's look at each point in more detail.

Replacing floors

Old flooring requires replacement. They dismantle the floor and take it out construction garbage and carefully inspect the surface. Often you have to break off an ancient screed to get to good slabs ceilings The dismantled floor does not have a flat surface, so you need to immediately start screeding it. After this manipulation further work the floor can be treated after about a week if used ordinary concrete, or earlier if special mixtures were used.

Water pipes are laid to the sink installation site. Nowadays they are usually built into walls, leaving only water outlets and pipes outside. Mounted lines are installed into the cavities (grooves) made in the wall. TO kitchen sink is also carried out sewage pipe. It is important to maintain a special slope so that water flows into the riser.

Under no circumstances should gas pipes be hidden in the wall. The maximum that can be done is to cover it with some kind of decorative element(for example, a retractable apron). The main thing is that the controllers can have access to any part of the pipe.

Much attention must be paid to the laying of electrical communications. The aluminum wiring of old Khrushchev apartments is unlikely to cope with the large number of household appliances that a modern kitchen is equipped with. Therefore, we change it to copper wires good quality. In addition, you will need to wire several lines, since each device must have its own connection point depending on its power.

Leveling walls and ceilings

First of all, we level the ceiling. Its repair begins immediately after the floor is repaired. It is cleaned, removing all irregularities on the surface. Very often during work you have to deal with cracks, joints between floor slabs, gaps in the corner of the ceiling and wall. All these imperfections must be repaired using a spatula. Material for this: cement, primer, latex elastic putty, compacted polyethylene foam rollers, plaster.

Replacement of doors and finishing of doorways

Before you begin finishing work, you should either trim the doorway or install the door. Let's consider the first option. First of all, it's inexpensive. Secondly, it's convenient. Slopes can be decorated by various means: plastic, MDF panels or natural wood, plaster. Don't forget to level the surface first before decorating with drywall.

Now let's talk about the door. Oddly enough, the choice here is quite large: swing doors, coupe, accordion, double-leaf, folding, swinging. Choosing the type of door depends on the layout and personal preferences. If you are not confident in your ability to install the door, contact the manufacturer.

Redecorating

The stages of cosmetic repairs are similar to last steps classic capital. In the same way, all work is carried out “from top to bottom”, that is, first of all, the ceiling is finished, then the walls are plastered and then the flooring is installed. Finally, the walls are decorated with wallpaper and furniture and decorative items are installed.

If, after removing the old finish, large surface defects are discovered, they are corrected cement-sand mixture. Further leveling is carried out with gypsum plaster.

After leveling the walls, before finishing, coat them with a special primer. It will play the role of adhesion to the material and eliminate the mycotic component, thereby preventing the development of mold.

Selection of finishing materials

Characteristic for the kitchen high humidity and temperature changes. For this reason, materials must be selected that are moisture and heat resistant. Room hygiene is no less important - it is desirable that all working surfaces are easy to clean. It is best to cover them with tiles or plastic panels. Then kitchen apron Can be covered with wallpaper provided it is protected by glass.

Wallpaper for the kitchen should be washed well. Suitable:

  • acrylic;
  • vinyl;
  • glass wallpaper;
  • silkscreen.

For flooring good option there will be wear-resistant laminate, linoleum, rough tiles. The color of the floor should under no circumstances blend in with the furniture. You can choose a 3D coating. The main thing is that the drawing is not too bright, otherwise it will get boring over time.

Lighting

We draw up an approximate lighting plan before the start of repairs, so as not to make a mistake in the number of sockets.

Alternatively, 2-3 ceiling lamp and spotlights in each functional area(for cooking, dining). You should not choose one lamp, because when performing some action in different parts kitchen, you can stand with your back to it. The following lamps can be hung on the ceiling:

  • halogen;
  • hanging;
  • invoices;
  • LED (have low power consumption, deliver light in only one direction, so they are used as spot lights).

It’s even better to install lamps with a rheostat so that you can regulate the degree of illumination. For the main light fixture on the ceiling, make several switches. During family meals, the light can be kept to a minimum to create a more intimate atmosphere.

Selection of furniture and equipment

Come up with several variations of furniture arrangement. It doesn't have to be furniture in one line. Currently more in demand kitchen sets U-shaped (along 2 walls) or L-shaped (along 3 walls).

To make your kitchen design as harmonious as possible, use built-in appliances. In addition, it looks more aesthetically pleasing and neater, because dirt does not accumulate between the furniture.

The size of the tabletop should be at least 50 cm. Even if you don’t really like to cook, this minimum required. The tabletop material is strong, durable (special plastic, stone). If you have small children, the absence of sharp corners will make life much easier.

Hanging cabinets are hung at a height depending on a person’s height:

  • ~175cm – for people of average height;
  • ~190cm – for tall people.

Facades with a glossy surface look very impressive. If you are not bothered by fingerprints that quickly appear during use, then feel free to choose this type of facade. If the prospect of wiping down your cabinets every day does not excite you, it is better to choose materials such as stone, tile or plastic panel.

Drawers in the kitchen are more convenient, because you can find them much faster the necessary dishes. It is worth noting that they are very attractive when they stand empty in the store. But once you fill them with things, it becomes not very convenient to pull them out.

Arrangement of kitchen appliances

Think about the arrangement of all household appliances kitchen appliances(even small) is necessary down to the smallest detail. Microwave, kettle, toaster, bread machine, coffee maker and other frequently used household appliances should not be placed too high. Equipment for regular use needs to find a place at eye level or slightly below. Rarely used electrical appliances can be placed on the lower shelves. Budget renovation Do-it-yourself kitchen involves purchasing the most necessary devices and refraining from additional ones.

The placement of the refrigerator is especially important. It should not be located near heating objects: radiators, stoves, ovens, because it can fail in a very short time. Optimal distance– from 15 cm. Based on the same beliefs, the refrigerator should not be installed in direct sunlight.

The subtleties of renovating a small kitchen

How to do a kitchen renovation with your own hands without spending almost the entire family budget? You can probably save on materials or household appliances. But this is not necessary if you are the owner of a small kitchen. This will not affect the repair stages in any way; everything is done using the same technology. There are design restrictions here. To be more precise, the use of decorative elements and color solutions, which will physically or visually narrow the room. These include laying walls and ceilings with plasterboard. In this case, the room actually decreases by several centimeters.

Stretch ceilings will visually expand the space due to the mirror reflection of surrounding objects. A good addition to suspended ceilings is spotlights.

To save on materials, use the interior zoning method. Folding furniture and an abundance of vertical cabinets on the walls will help save space. For visual expansion Light the room as intensely as possible, and decorate the interior in light pastel colors.

Video: renovation options for a small kitchen

The story of our 2-month DIY renovation. From and to.

We had at our disposal a kitchen in which we had lived for several years. The desire for renovation has been long overdue. It was not convenient to use the kitchen; not only was it small (7 sq.m.), but the kitchen set did not occupy the entire wall + the cabinets were not hung on the wall, but on a special structure. There were pipes behind the set itself: water came from the corner to the sink, gas pipe, on the contrary, from the window to the corner.

I wanted to expand the space, make the room bright and modern.

Initially, there were several options for setting up the headset. Including a refrigerator in the same row. There would, of course, be more space, but the size of the working surface would become minimal. As a result, it was decided to leave the location of the refrigerator the same in favor of a larger surface.

Initially, it was planned that a team would be hired to do the dirty work (it was necessary to level the walls - there was a protrusion with a difference of more than 3 cm on the wall with the kitchen unit, change the plumbing, electrical, make a screed), and finishing we will do it ourselves.

Before the brigade arrived, they cleaned the room and removed the old flooring ( wooden joists and chipboard).

However, we didn’t like the brigade’s calculations at all. After thinking for a couple of days, reading about the work that we had to do, we decided to do the repairs ourselves, calling the experts individual works(plumbing, suspended ceiling, connection of a new electric meter).

My husband and I did the renovations after work and on weekends. Everything took exactly 2 months. This is the first serious renovation for both of us; before this we only hung wallpaper. However, my husband had some experience using various instruments=). Having saved on paying for the work of the team, we purchased a decent set of power tools - now we can tackle any repair!

We used good materials, my husband works as an ecologist, so we chose everything carefully.

On the walls under the wallpaper there were several layers of good Soviet paint. In some places, of course, she went well, but mostly she came away with difficulty. In the end, we decided to simply make more notches with an axe, where it came off very poorly.

Photo before starting to level the walls. You can see how well the gas pipe stretches. We wanted to shorten it and place the stove next to it. We contacted Lengaz, they accepted our application, a few days later an engineer contacted me and said that he would come on December 24 (and this was in early November). We urgently began to look for other options. As a result, they called a master who was found on the Internet, and in 20 minutes he cut the pipes and installed a new faucet. Fortunately, we have top floor and the pipe is just coming to us, so we didn’t have to figure out how to hide it. And the Lengaz employees, despite the cancellation of the application, called me several times and tried to come =).

To replace the pipes, they called in plumbers from the team that was almost hired to do the repairs. They completed replacing three meters of pipes and installing meters in 8 hours of work. We were just very glad that they weren’t doing the repairs for us. The pipes will enter the end cabinet from the side, and the drain will go into the bottom of the cabinet.

We finished leveling the walls. Getting ready to lay the floor. The screed was made dry using KNAUF SUPERFLOOR technology: expanded clay sand and GVL sheets(they are standing against the wall).

In the process of leveling the floor.

And after laying the tiles.

We did the new electrical wiring ourselves. Only the light remained the same. The old wiring was simply terrifying - melted insulation, twisted copper and aluminum cables. Just one input cable to the kitchen and next room! Three main lines with a cross section of 2.5 square mm were drawn from the meter. A specialist was called to replace the electric meter. We were very pleased with his work.

We also ordered a tensioner glossy ceiling. Although it has lowered the height of the ceilings, which is already small, it does not overhang due to the gloss. What we regret is that we did not replace the old window. Even with the new renovation, of course, it doesn’t look good at all - we planned to paint it in the summer, but maybe we’ll change it anyway.

The kitchen set was purchased from Ikea, assembled and installed independently. First, the wall cabinets were installed, then the tiles were glued, and then the bottom was assembled.

The PMM is not built-in, since in order to cover it with a 50 cm façade it would be necessary to install smaller drawers; we also have a gas pipe (therefore, to the left of the stove there is a cabinet with a door - there is a gas tap in the back).

Photo of the finished kitchen after a month of living in it. Not sure what to do with the curtain and table and chairs yet. We'll probably hang some photographs above the table, too.
My husband made LED lighting for the work surface and used it aluminum profile and LED strip.

IN modern world kitchen spaces often combine the functions of a kitchen and a dining room. It is in these rooms that the whole family gathers for breakfast and dinner. In addition, relaxation areas are often set up in kitchen areas, where you can drink a cup of coffee and chat with a friend.

  • Install a special structure on the ceiling on which to fix plasterboard sheets, which are subsequently finished using any of the modern methods.

Both methods are quite labor-intensive and require certain construction skills. Therefore, if you are not confident in your abilities, it is better to involve specialists.
