Woodworking cross-cutting machine TsME-ZA

The TsME-ZA articulated pendulum cross-cutting machine has a frame with a column (9) built into it, which is adjusted in height using a handwheel and secured with a handle (8). On top of the column there are levers, to one of which is attached an electric motor (6) with a saw on its shaft. The electric motor is provided with electrodynamic braking when it is turned off.

The saw is fenced protective casing. The levers are hinged and can be rotated, and the saw makes a linear movement parallel to the table. The saw is fed by pressing the pedal (1) using a pneumatic cylinder, which is pivotally attached to the column.

The saw can also be fed manually using the handle. The position of the material being cut is ensured roller table(3) guide ruler and end stops.

The TsME-ZA machine has the following technical data: the maximum width of the sawn material is 400 mm with a thickness of up to 100 mm, the feed speed of the saw support is up to 25 m/n, the number of double strokes of the support is up to 45 min, the diameter of the saw is 500 mm and its rotation frequency is 3000 min1, electric motor power 4 kW.

The cross-cutting machine with linear movement of the caliper TsPA-40 consists of a frame with a column (11).

At the top of the column there is a support (9) with sludge (6). The column can be adjusted in height and secured with a handwheel using a handle (3). The saw support is fed by a hydraulic cylinder (10) with an electric motor (13) when the pedal (1) is pressed. An electric motor is attached to the support, and a saw (6) with a protective guard (5) is mounted on the shaft. For the material being cut, there is a table (4) with rollers, a guide ruler (8) and folding and recessed end stops.

The machine can cut materials up to 400 mm wide and up to 100 mm thick at a saw support feed speed of up to 33 m/min and the number of its double strokes up to 30 rpm.

The saw diameter is 450 mm and the rotation speed is 3000 rpm. Electric motor power 6.2 kW.

For small volumes of work for transverse and longitudinal cutting and sawing at an angle of boards, bars, plywood and wood boards use the universal circular saw Ts6-2. A table measuring 830 x 1200 m is mounted on the frame (1), on the front of which there is a guide ruler (14) that provides direction for feeding the material when sawing it longitudinally.

The table has a removable square (7), which can be moved in a T-shaped slot in the table parallel to the plane of the saw when cutting material at an angle from 45° to 135°.

The saw (10) is mounted on the shaft of the electric motor, which is installed inside the frame.

The saw is raised and lowered using the handwheel (18). A saw guard with an anti-kickout mechanism is attached to the machine table. A riving knife is placed at the rear in the plane of the saw blade. For trimming workpieces and trimming the edges of panels and frames, a carriage (2) with a table (5) is provided. The carriage is mounted on rollers, can move along the machine (carriage travel 1000 mm) along a guide (6) parallel to the saw plane and has a clamp for securing the material. The Ts6-2 machine has the following technical data: greatest thickness sawn material 130 mm with a width of up to 400 mm, maximum saw height movement 100 mm, saw diameter 320-500 mm, rotation speed 2900 rpm, electric motor power 4 kW.

Finishing machines (Ts2K12-1, Ts2K20-1, Ts2K12F-1, Ts2K20F-1) are used for finishing trimming of two ends of workpieces simultaneously.

The machines have a mechanical feed of workpieces during their transverse movement at a feed speed of 5-16 m/min. Each of the Ts2K12F-1 and Ts2K20F-1 machines, in addition to two saws, is additionally equipped with two milling heads, on which it is possible to perform format processing of panels to size along the length and rail with simultaneous milling of their edges. Processing of the edges of panels, frames and boxes can be done on a two-saw format-edging machine TsF-3.

For cutting wood boards and plywood into blanks, circular saw multi-saw machines are used: TsTZF-1 (three-saw), TsT4F (four-saw) and TsTMF (eleven-saw with program control).

For longitudinal sawing of boards or their segments into workpieces of the required width or thickness, circular saw mortising machines with mechanical feed are used: roller-disk - TsA2A (single-saw) and with a conveyor - PDK4-1 (single-saw), TsDK5-2 (five-saw) and TsMR -3 (ten-saw blades), which provide through-processing.

The single-saw cutting machine with conveyor feeding TsDK5-3 DK-200 consists of the following components: a table, a clamping support in the form of a box, which contains spring-loaded rollers that provide clamping of the workpiece in front and behind the saw.

The feed mechanism is made in the form of a conveyor made of cast iron links, hingedly connected by rollers with a bushing purpose. This chain is meshed with the rear drive sprocket, which is driven by the variator from the electric motor.

To prevent the material being cut from being thrown out of the machine, a riving knife is installed, and there are anti-ejection stops on the front of the machine.

The saw support of the machine consists of an electric motor, the shaft of which is connected through a coupling to the spindle on which the saw is fixed. The TsDK4-3 DK-200 machine has technical data: the greatest width of processed materials is 315 mm with a thickness of up to 100 mm, and the shortest length is 600 mm, feed speed 8-40 m/min, saw diameter 250-400 mm, rotation speed 3000 rpm min, electric motor power 13 kW.

Multi-saw cutting machines TsDK5-2, TsMR-3 differ from single-saw machines by the presence of a block of saws mounted on one shaft.

The distance between the saws determines the width of the sawn workpieces and is achieved on the shaft of the intermediate washers between the saws.

Do-it-yourself edger

The saw shaft of the machines is driven into rotation by an electric motor through V-belt transmission, feed drive control is stepless.

IN circular saws use round flat saws with set teeth with a diameter of 250-500 mm and a blade thickness of 2-2.8 mm.

The number of saw teeth ranges from 36 to 72, and the amount of spread on one side can be 0.3-0.6 mm. The teeth of saws for cross-cutting wood have an oblique sharpening, for rip sawing- direct sharpening. Fine-tooth planing saws are used to obtain smooth surface wood or saws, the teeth of which are equipped with carbide plates, for cutting hardwood boards, plywood, decorative plastics, wood and other boards.

Before installing the saw on the machine shaft, it must be checked.

The saw blade must be flat and free of cracks. The saw teeth must be correctly set and well sharpened. Sharpening saws and others cutting tools machines are produced by highly qualified fitters using special sharpening machines using electrocorundum grinding wheels. Saws equipped with carbide are sharpened on diamond sharpening wheels.

The edge trimming machine is designed for removing edges from the surface of wooden blocks and boards. This operation can be done on an ordinary band saw. But at the same time, it is difficult to achieve precision processing and create a product with the required geometry parameters.

Design of edge trimming machine

Before you start making an edger with your own hands, you need to familiarize yourself with the specifics of its layout and design. This woodworking equipment is mandatory for completing specialized production lines and is intended for pre-processing of lumber before sanding.

Edge trimming machines have standard equipment. They consist of a frame that performs two functions. It houses mechanisms for sawing, and can also serve as a conveyor for feeding workpieces. An alternative option is to rigidly fix the wooden part to the surface of the working frame.

Depending on the design features, the following types of woodworking edge trimming machines are distinguished:

  • method of supplying materials - manual, automatic or semi-automatic. Manual models are simple in design, but have a low performance indicator. They are the best option for self-production;
  • by the number of saw blades – single and double saw blades. The former are intended for one-sided processing and are used extremely rarely. The optimal result is achieved after using two-saw models, since trimming occurs simultaneously along two edges of the workpiece;
  • movable or stationary carriage with saw blades. To make homemade woodworking equipment, it is recommended to make a subcutaneous carriage. This will allow you to control the processing process. But factory models are made with a fixed carriage. This helps improve productivity.

Additionally, a manual woodworking machine can be equipped with a system for removing cutting products - chips and wood dust. To do this, you can use a standard chip vacuum cleaner or its equivalent.

The optimal power of the power plant should be 4 kW or more. This is necessary for simultaneous processing of workpieces using a manual two-saw woodworking machine.

At the first stage, it is necessary to draw up a design diagram of the equipment. It must include an accurate drawing indicating the location and main characteristics of the constituent elements. Without this, it will be impossible to make a high-quality and reliable edge trimming machine.

The best option for self-production would be a design with a movable carriage. To implement it, you can use a two-saw or four-saw cutting unit controlled by a manual mechanism. The latest edge trimmers will be able to form two workpieces in one pass. But at the same time, they will require a powerful power plant to operate.

Structural elements of manual woodworking equipment:

  • support frame. The workpiece will be fixed on it. It is best to make it welded from square profile pipes. The upper ones will be designed to move the carriage. Roller guides are attached between the side machines. With their help, you can feed workpieces with a large mass. Clamps or similar devices can be used to secure wooden parts;
  • movable carriage. A power unit is installed on it, which is connected to the drive shaft using a belt drive. To mount the disks, a special shaft must be made with the ability to change the position of the disks. The carriage moves along the frame guides using wheels.

Additionally, a lifting block should be provided to adjust the cutting depth. In this way, the maximum thickness of the workpiece can be significantly increased.

The control unit should be located on the side of the equipment. To increase the safety of operation of the woodworking machine, it is necessary to install a shield on the carriage. This way you can avoid chips getting into the electric motor.

To reduce the design, two power units can be mounted on a homemade edge trimming machine. This will make it possible not to make a belt drive system, which will greatly facilitate the manufacturing process.

To move the carriage along the guides, you can make a long handle. Next to it there are usually buttons for activating/deactivating electric motors. This will make it possible to control the processing process from a safe distance.

In addition, the following additional components can be installed on edge trimming machines:

  • ruler;
  • cut depth indicator;
  • a protective mechanism that prevents motors from overheating.

Most often, improvised components are used to make this. Therefore, it is impossible to give clear recommendations for assembly. The technology directly depends on the characteristics of the constituent elements.
