A kitchen in a private house can be large or small, separate, combined or walk-through; it often has irregular shape and features like ceiling beams, mansard roof, boiler, exit to the terrace... There can be a lot of conditions that need to be taken into account in the design of the kitchen of a private house. In this material, we have collected 12 general tips that will help you plan an interior from scratch or transform an existing environment, and also presented a selection of 60 inspiring photos.

Tip 1. Choose a kitchen interior style in accordance with the style of the facade of the house and the features of the area

As a rule, the interior style of the kitchen of a country house (and other rooms) is formed based on the tastes of its inhabitants, as well as taking into account the style of the facade of the house itself. Sometimes the choice is influenced by the features of the area where the house is located. Let's say its history or proximity to the river/sea. It’s so great when the interior, exterior and surroundings of the house are a natural continuation of each other. Here are some tips to help you decide:

  • IN classic mansions and cottages lined with brick or stone are appropriate classic interiors in style: Empire, eclectic, chinoiserie, French or, as well as a more democratic American style.
  • In wooden houses made of timber or logs, a kitchen in the style of: , rustic, eco, Gustavian (Swedish Empire style) and, of course, hut (for log houses) or noble estate(see photo below).

  • In siding houses, Scandinavian and “rustic” interiors are most appropriate, as well as simplified classical (American) and industrial styles.

  • If the house is located by the sea/river/lake, then you can choose Provence style.

  • If your home is located near a ski resort or you visit the countryside mainly in winter time, then take a closer look at the chalet style.

Tip 2. To make your kitchen comfortable, follow the “working triangle” rule when planning

According to this rule, three strategically important areas - the sink, stove and refrigerator - should be located next to each other, forming a triangle.

  • The distance from the stove to the sink should be no less than 60 cm and no more than 180 cm. It is good to place a food preparation area in this gap. The distance from the sink to the refrigerator can be from 45 cm to 2 m. In this gap there is a “unloading and loading area”, as well as an auxiliary kitchen appliances, say, an electric kettle, a toaster, etc.

Tip 3. The most convenient kitchen layout is U-shaped, the most versatile is L-shaped.

From the point of view of the “work triangle”, the most successful layouts are:

  • U-shaped - when the furniture and work points are arranged in a U-shape, you can cook while standing almost in one place, making only turns with your body. True, for such a layout the width of the room should be no more than 3.2 m, and better - no more than 2.4 m, otherwise the distance between the side parts of the headset will become too large.

  • Island - no matter how you arrange the furniture in the work area, especially if you equip it with a stove and/or sink. However, even the smallest island requires space, because there must be passages of at least 1 meter around it. We talked in more detail about the arrangement of the island in Tip No. 4 (see below).

The most universal layouts are:

  • L-shaped - a little less convenient, but the most universal furniture arrangement scheme, which is especially relevant for rectangular shapes. When choosing this layout, it is advisable to place the refrigerator in line with the sink, and not the stove.

  • Linear - universal, but not the most convenient option kitchen layouts. Due to the fact that the working areas are arranged in one row, during cooking the cook has to walk back and forth extra meters more than once, which means wasting time and effort. However, for small kitchens this option is often the only possible solution.

A two-row (parallel) layout is suitable for:

  • Double-row - suitable for kitchens with a width of no more than 3.2 m, and ideally no more than 2.4-2.5 m. In this case, the stove and sink are placed side by side in one line, and the refrigerator along with the oven and microwave are on the opposite side . Sometimes a dining table is placed between two rows of furniture as shown in the photo below.

Tip 4. If your kitchen has an area of more than 18 square meters. m install a desktop island

An island is a super-functional table that can serve as a place to prepare food, a place to store utensils and groceries, or a bar for breakfast and snacks. You can also build a stove, sink, wine cabinet, or a small refrigerator.

This assistant is especially relevant for:

  • Kitchens with an awkward linear layout;
  • /dining room (see photo)/hallway.

Keep in mind that a small island measuring 120x100 cm is suitable. Such a table can also be mobile. The shape of the island should match the shape of the room.

  • In a kitchen with an area of less than 18 square meters. meters instead of an island, you can install a peninsula, which is more compact due to the end abutting the wall or furniture.

Tip 5. If the kitchen is a walk-through, work points should be arranged so that the passage always remains free

If the kitchen is a walk-through kitchen, for example, combined with a hallway, or has access to a terrace or backyard, then the work area (that very “triangle” of stove, sink and refrigerator) needs to be planned so that it does not intersect with the passage. Then the running back and forth of household members will not interfere with the person preparing food or cleaning.

  • Remember that the width of the passage should be at least 1 m, and ideally 120 cm or more.

By the way, in a walk-through kitchen it’s great to use a bar counter, island or peninsula as a space divider.

Island in the walk-through kitchen of a country house

If you have the opportunity to install/move the sink to the window, then by all means use it. This way you can admire nature, the backyard lawn, or at least the view of the sky above the cottage village every day, while going about your daily business. However, a significant extension of communications is not always desirable.

... in whole or in part, replacing them with open shelves if the roof slopes hang too low. This way you won’t clutter up the interior and make good use of the walls under the slopes. In this case, the lower cabinets should be equipped primarily drawers, which are much more convenient and more spacious than cabinets. The following selection of photos shows examples of arranging a kitchen in the attic.

Tip 8. If the kitchen is combined with a living room or dining room, zone the space

Zoning the space brings a sense of order and comfort to the interior. Here are a few techniques that are especially relevant for a kitchen in a country house:

  • Finishing the floor in the kitchen and the floor in the living/dining room with different materials. So, for example, if all the rooms have wooden floors, then in the kitchen it can be tiled with more practical tiles, porcelain stoneware or stone.

  • Partial insulation of the kitchen. To prevent clutter in the kitchen or dining room from spoiling the look of the living room, you can install sliding doors, curtains, panel curtains, screens, low or narrow partitions.

  • Zoning with lighting. In the kitchen, it is enough to install a bright overhead light and furniture lighting; the lamps themselves should be laconic. But in the living room the light should be multi-level and softer when the main ceiling lighting complemented by floor lamps, wall sconces and table lamps. The lamps themselves can be elegant. It is advisable to highlight the dining area with pendants or a chandelier installed directly above the table as shown in the following photos.

  • Arrangement of furniture at the boundaries of zones. As delimiters you can use: a bar counter, a dining table, an island table or a peninsula, a sofa, armchairs, consoles and shelving.

The photo shows a kitchen-living room in a country house in Spain

  • Use of carpets. A large rug on the floor in the living/dining room will divide the space and create coziness. You can also lay a carpet between the zones. For example, between the work and dining areas.

Tip 9. For a combined space, a powerful hood is required

To protect curtains, upholstery, pillows and carpets in the living room from culinary odors, you should install a dome-type hood with a capacity of at least 1000 m 3 /hour.

Tip 10. Black and dark brown floors, countertops, splashbacks and furniture fronts are impractical

On dark surfaces even the most visible small crumbs, water drops and dust. Therefore, the most dirty areas in the kitchen - the apron, countertops and especially the floor - are best decorated in light shades.

Tip 11. When decorating the kitchen of a country house, try something that you didn’t dare to do in a city apartment

This could be a different interior style, bold colors, non-standard layout, decorative techniques, or things that you like but do not fit into the interior of your “urban” kitchen.

Tip 12. Use mainly natural materials in decoration and decoration

Submitting to the idea of closeness to nature interior decoration at home, you can fully experience all the charm of life outside the city.

  • When decorating the kitchen of a private home, try to avoid using vinyl wallpaper, plastic panels, double-glazed windows, laminate and unnatural linoleum.
  • The ideal furniture for the kitchen of a country house is wooden (including plywood and veneer), forged and wicker.
  • It is also better to choose natural or mixed textiles.

However, in some cases, the use artificial materials justified. For example, a countertop made of artificial agglomerate is much more practical and durable than a countertop made of natural stone (see material:), and a nylon carpet is almost as good as wool and does not cause allergies.

Most often, private houses are much larger in area than city apartments. Therefore, the choice of kitchen and the organization of kitchen space in it should be approached more carefully.

After all, here there is room for creativity to unfold - almost any design solution can be brought to life for the furnishings.

And there are many different options for organizing a cozy home.

Features of the arrangement

Let's look at the main differences from kitchens in apartments:

  • usually more windows. The lighting in the room also depends on this: much more sunlight gets into the kitchen;
  • large room area and high ceilings;
  • possibility of equipping fireplaces and other interior elements;
  • kitchens in private homes are most often impassable, hence the unlimited number of ideas for creating different zones: dining room, bar, etc.

Square kitchens

The most common and convenient form of kitchen for decoration. Often such kitchens are equipped in a classic style.

Before you start planning, you should decide where the so-called working area will be located: stove, storage cabinets, refrigerator, etc. From this space it is worth starting further arrangement.

When decorating this type of kitchen, most often the furniture is placed along one line or corner sets are chosen.

When placing, we must not forget about the location of window openings.

If the room area is large, you can consider another “fashionable” option: organizing a workspace in the middle of the room. There are no restrictions in the choice of wallpaper - almost any design solution will do.

Narrow-width kitchens

Choosing the interior of such a room is very difficult. Experts recommend using a design that will visually expand the kitchen space.

The easiest way out for this is that the color of furniture, walls, ceilings and curtains should be as light as possible.

There is no need to clutter the kitchen with useless or unnecessary items. Leave only necessary things in the room. The set should also be small in size.

Suitable for interior and bright colors– they will distract the eyes from the area of the room.

Combined kitchens

Such a kitchen layout for a private home is actually a rare occurrence. But the demand for such premises in Lately increases significantly.

This is due, first of all, to a wide range of design ideas and simplicity of design.

For example, in order to separate the work area from the relaxation area, you can use curtains, partitions, and pieces of furniture. In addition, you can divide the kitchen space using various colors coloring.

Not suitable for this type of premises classic styles. Most often, such kitchens are designed in minimalist, hi-tech and modern styles.

Kitchen design styles

The most popular styles The design of kitchens in private homes is deservedly considered minimalism and modernism.

To use the first one, small, narrow and non-standard rooms with a non-standard layout are better suited. Distinctive qualities of minimalism: simplicity and ergonomics. There are no unnecessary decorative items, the colors are usually monochromatic. Hence the ease of design.

Art Nouveau style fits better into large spaces. It is based on non-standard solutions: bright colors, unusual interior items, a combination of various building materials.

If you do not live in a country house on a permanent basis, but use it as a vacation spot, then the Provence style will suit you.

It emphasizes the provincialism of the structure. It is characterized by unprocessed materials of natural origin: wood, stone, etc.

Selection of furniture, household appliances, building materials play an important role in the design of your future kitchen. But this is not where you should start. First you need to decide on more fundamental issues.

Firstly, with communications. Light, gas, water, ventilation - you need to think about all this before you start decorating.

If you have limited financial resources, you should choose more economical options - for this, kitchen design in classic and minimalist styles is most suitable.

Photos of kitchen design ideas in a private house

The interior of a kitchen in a private home is a matter of careful planning. The design should be designed with an understanding of what kind of family will live here, what its needs, hobbies, and daily rituals are. In a country kitchen, every member should feel comfortable.

Arranging such a room as the kitchen of a country house often requires much more money and effort than it might seem at first glance. On the one hand, it is important to adapt to the dimensions of the room (other than standard apartments), on the other hand, to make the kitchen interesting from a design point of view, and on the third, to develop its functionality as much as possible.

Therefore, before ordering a kitchen stove online or looking for a dining table at Ikea, you need to draw up (draw) a sketch of the future kitchen. After which, carry out a series of calculations and only then begin to repair a new or reconstruct an old kitchen.

Most people are focused on primary values, on comfort. Therefore, the interior of the kitchen-dining room in a private house is divided into three zones:

  1. working
  2. Dining room
  3. living room

The zonal delimitation of space can be an “island”, a bar counter or a hanging fireplace with a sofa area.

Trends are your friends

All current exhibitions in 2017 signaled that the most popular were and remain laconic, comfortable and natural interiors. The kitchen of a country house is no exception. Its design should be minimalistic, without any frills.

Scandinavian, classic and modern styles are in favor. The dominant materials are wood, artificial and natural stone, glass, and metal. Techniques are actively used that help “push apart” the walls. To do this, choose one color and make it either overly saturated or, on the contrary, light and transparent. Bright details help to avoid the monotony of such spaces: textiles, dishes - they become the final touch of kitchen design.

Life hack for a private home: how to decorate a kitchen-dining room

When imagining the kitchen environment of a private home, we involuntarily tend to rustic style- country. But is it necessary to tie the interior to the countryside, to nature, if all sympathies are on the side of minimalism, art deco and urban style?

Let’s say right away that there are no complaints about the country style, but about the wooden unpainted lining and blockhouse, which are universally used in decoration individual houses- weight. Grooved and planed boards turn yellow over time and, as a result, do not emphasize the “hut” style of the house, but make it dull, cheap and old-fashioned.

Exception - wooden lining in the interior of a country house kitchen, painted in White color. Good paint corrects a bold minus to a plus. White lining is the ideal backdrop for an artificially aged kitchen in the Provence style.

The photo shows a kitchen design in a country house wooden house in Provence style.

So, if lining is a relic of the past, then what materials should be used in the design of a kitchen outside the city?

Natural stone (granite, gabbro, marble, labradorite, travertine) and its imitations are more relevant than ever. At the same time, processing is minimal. Rough textures, cracks, roughness and unevenness are aesthetically presented in the interiors.

A very bold idea - a stone apron made of crooked bricks, but it is this that gives the kitchen space a special charm. The unusual character of a country interior will be enhanced by designer furniture, as in the photo.

Another fashionable technique when in the interior of a kitchen dining room in a private house against the backdrop of dark walls made of natural stone light kitchen cabinets are placed mint shades. The laconic decor maintains a relaxed, light atmosphere, but does not add to the hassle of cleaning for the owners. Natural stone is quite easy to care for - just wipe it with a soft cloth to remove dust from time to time.

And in this interior, spied at the dacha of one celebrity, the hood, framed by red brick, took on the role of a country fireplace. The subtle similarity is emphasized by the picture, which, at first glance, is not entirely appropriate next to a stove, even an electric one.

The task of stone in the design of the kitchen of a private house is to protect the walls from hot steam, moisture, splashes, grease and other contaminants.

An apron made of natural stone will “stretch out” even the simplest, mediocre interior and make it possible to create beautiful space in the interior of a country cottage for reasonable money.

Interior of a kitchen living room in a private house

The most best ideas country kitchens born in the throes of creativity. Kitchen design is more than just installing a stove, a sink and hanging curtains. Today, strict kitchen design is relevant and rectangular shapes, maximally integrated into the living room area.

Most modern manufacturers offer comprehensive solutions for decorating a country house - kitchens and living rooms, made in the same style. Most of the furniture will have to be made to order. Only in this case will the result be worth the effort:

  • the headset and soft group will fit perfectly;
  • it will be convenient to cook in the kitchen;
  • The living area is a comfortable place to relax and receive guests.

The palette plays an important role in creating a new image for an old country kitchen-living room. Most customers insist on a restrained color scheme - universal interior, in smoky shades and muted deep tones, is able to adapt to any mood.

Smart kitchen-living room in a country house: what is its design?

We are born into an era of change where artificial intelligence is no longer futuristic science fiction. It has become possible to launch kitchen scenarios with just one touch on the screen of your phone or tablet. To control the brightness of the lamps or the position of the blinds, you don’t have to interrupt dinner and get up from your chair. All you need to do is press...

Yes, today not only urban cities can boast of technical equipment, but also rustic kitchens. Designers are actively introducing technical developments and the latest innovations into interiors. The hoods are hidden in the wall, the ceiling is illuminated not with rays from the “Ilyich bulb”, but at the same time with hidden, auxiliary and dominant lamps.

A special trend is a mobile bar counter-tabletop, which moves along the kitchen or extends in a variety of ways.

In the photo, the interior of a kitchen in a country house with a bar counter is a popular technique for decorating the countertop as a bar area, when it changes its height and thickness throughout the kitchen.

The kitchen island has also become a complex, multifunctional area. It is actively “stuffed” with various elements, storage sections, and hidden sockets. Sliding table tops hide hob and washing in such a way that the environment is not cluttered with unnecessary objects. The space remains bright, open to an abundance of natural light - and what else could be needed for a calm and quiet life outside the city.

1. The kitchen design in the photo advocates simplicity in country interior. Which doesn't make the space any less cozy.

2. The photo shows a kitchen design in a country house with access to an open terrace. The owners actively use it both as a dining room and as the main gathering place for friends.

3. A mix of new and old has become the leitmotif of interior design. Lamps hanging on long ropes give the kitchen a special charm.

Interior of a large kitchen in a private house - styles

Some original version kitchen design in different interior styles

Country fusion kitchen

The main concept of interior fusion: laconicism and simplicity, which contrasts with luxurious classic elements.

The photo shows the design of the kitchen of a private house, in which classical elements are integrated into the modern setting.

How to do it?

  • use materials, shades and forms of any genres ( key principle fusion style - “populate” the interior with elements of the most different styles, but create harmony between them);
  • combine modest pieces of furniture with bohemian decorative elements;
  • use splashes of bold, rich colors (orange, green, crimson, turquoise are on trend).

Country kitchen in Art Deco style

In our country for a long time Socialism triumphed, so it developed separately from world architectural laws.

Everyone is used to living in the same conditions. And art deco in the design of a kitchen in a private home is a Western innovation that does not tolerate inept experiments, because the main thing for it is good taste.

How to apply?

  • forget about smooth lines and floral patterns - art deco is distinguished by sharpness, correct geometry and angularity;
  • give preference to black and pastel colors(for example, white with chocolate or black with silver);
  • actively use inlaid or polished wood, metal, glass, leather and glossy tiles.

Country classic cuisine

In Paris, it is very fashionable to live in country houses, old houses, with history. People enjoy having breakfast and dinner in an antique setting, in a kitchen with a fireplace and stucco on the walls and ceiling. At the same time, they introduce into the interior individual elements modernity.

In our country, this perspective is just beginning its journey. It becomes prestigious to live respectably, with taste, with respect for the history of your country.

How to do it?

  • all furniture and objects should not convey the cozy mood of country life;
  • a tabletop with a sink near a large window with swing shutters, a large dining table with plump legs and deep, hugging chairs with removable linen jacquard covers will evoke the right associations.

The photo shows a classic kitchen in french style in a private cottage

Interior design of a modern kitchen in a private house

Architecture is a symbiosis of painting and mathematics. Smart storage systems and all kinds of appliances are integrated into the blank facades of kitchen cabinets: dishwasher, microwave, oven, steamer.

The apartment rooms are linked to standard layout, and the design of a kitchen in a private house is practically unlimited. Private buildings most often have disproportionately more usable area, thanks to the larger quadrature. This is the case when it is easier to implement the most daring design ideas, starting from facing materials and ending with built-in furniture. You shouldn’t get down to business until everything has been thought out to the smallest detail so that the place near the “hearth” becomes the most comfortable corner.

Decorating a kitchen space in a country house is a responsible and at the same time enjoyable task.

What is important to consider when planning a kitchen renovation in your home?

Many people dream of owning their own home, but design kitchen area no less important than the arrangement of the hallway, living room or bedroom. General impression depends on many factors. For a long time, certain standards for housing arrangement reigned in the Russian-speaking space, which it is time to abandon. They are being replaced by interior design of a new format, without mental restrictions, even if it is the interior of a kitchen in a country house or a small country house.

The style of the kitchen should be consistent with the interior of the rest of the premises, creating a feeling of integrity and harmony of the whole house

It is not necessary to buy traditional furniture if your soul desires something universal. Today the best solution considered to be built-in furniture, where everything is installed kitchen equipment, making cooking easier. The number of household appliances directly depends on the lifestyle of the owners of a private home.

  1. If it is customary for a family to make large weekly or monthly purchases, then it makes sense to purchase 2 refrigerators, one of them exclusively for drinks, and a spacious chest freezer for meat and semi-finished products.
  2. A thoughtful interior of a studio kitchen in a private house involves combining two adjacent rooms. But every functional area they are arranged taking into account how often the whole family gathers to dine in the dining area, the guest room - how often there are visitors who need to be accommodated somewhere comfortably.
  3. The equipment of the kitchen unit depends on the volume and variety of food being prepared. In urban private houses, just like with all city dwellers, everyone has their own busy schedule, they spend a lot of time working or studying, and they rarely gather in the house and cook for the whole family.
  4. In a private house, where maids cook in the kitchen, most often there is complete equipment, starting from a bread machine and ending with a compact electric grill for cooking small amounts of meat. Kitchen equipment forms the basis of the interior.
  5. In some families, it is customary to cook a lot on the weekends with a reserve, so that during a busy week, ready-made first and second courses will only be reheated. In this case, it would be useful to have 2 stoves, an oven and a microwave oven, so that any method of preparing and heating dishes is available.
  6. In a house where there is practically no cooking, using semi-finished products and ready-made cuts for well-prepared tea or coffee, you do not need a lot of equipment. The family often communicates over dinner, watching TV shows and news over sandwiches. Coffee machine, cutting equipment and simple stove- the basis of kitchen equipment, there is no point in spending on equipment and cluttering the room with oversized kitchen furniture.

Features of kitchen design in private buildings

Your dream home is needed not only for living, but also a place at the stove for preparing your favorite dishes. This is a vital space for warm meetings with people dear to your heart, including the kitchen in a country house.

Pastel shades, wooden furniture with carvings, retro lamps, fresh flowers and other elements in a rural theme - all this is especially popular among country residents

The design of premises in a private house should differ from the kitchen in an apartment, where much depends on the non-standard layout:

  • a large spacious room can look empty and lifeless if the furniture is approached incorrectly - an “island” type is recommended (in the center there is a working or dinner Zone);
  • kitchen design with two windows different walls in a private house it involves reducing the number of wall cabinets and built-in appliances, but there is better lighting here;
  • the kitchen space can be a walk-through space - when it is half a house and there are not enough useful spaces, a part is allocated for a compact catering unit large corridor or hallway;
  • depending on the usable area of a small kitchen, in a country house it is recommended to get rid of old furniture and trash in favor of free passages;
  • a dining area is a mandatory attribute of any kitchen, but without a dining table with chairs ( soft corner) you can get by if everyone eats separately (at the TV or computer in another room);
  • Sometimes in houses the Russian stove is dismantled and replaced with a fireplace or its imitation - an excellent solution for a spacious kitchen with a guest area “by the fire”!

To visually lift a low ceiling, paint it white

A non-standard kitchen layout does not limit professional designers stylistically. They retain functionality and all important areas, but vary the format and methods of implementation.

Conceptually, the interior design of a kitchen in a wooden house can be “tied” to nature, ethnic roots, and nostalgic times of rural childhood. These are retro, country, ethnic or environmental styles.

Country style kitchen with a pleasant green tint

Advice. Choose the finish to suit your taste modern materials, play with zoning, replace the old facades of built-in furniture with new ones, but do not forget that everything should be in harmony stylistically.

Interiors in the style of yesteryear always look good in country houses

Any idea is much easier to implement in a private home than in a city kitchen, deprived of square meters, where everything is strictly tied to the wall with communications and gas pipelines.

How to equip a kitchen with a specific configuration?

The room equipped as a kitchen does not always have perfect shape, you often have to adjust the space to suit your needs

Square kitchen

A square room is rare for city apartments, but a very convenient option for the interior of the kitchen of a private house. There is room here to put the dining table and place all the kitchen equipment. Cabinets and cabinets can be arranged in different ways:

  • along all walls;
  • in parallel, freeing up the passages;
  • L-shaped or angle;
  • U-shaped, leaving one wall free (with a window or door).

Such a room does not cause problems with decorating a kitchen with your own hands in a private home. Depending on the amount of cabinet furniture, the dining table is placed in the center, placed near a free wall or window, as in the photo.

A square room is a great success; it’s quite easy to arrange such a room even without special design skills

Advice. It’s easiest to fill a square kitchen with useful equipment, but still, avoid clutter and inspect it more often.

For limited space, a folding table is very practical to use, lateral surface which can be raised if necessary

In a small square kitchen There may not be enough space for a full-fledged dining area, but you can do without it by replacing it with another plane.

Narrow kitchen

A narrow kitchen in a private house is a common option if it has been completed or reconstructed in some way. We will have to minimize the use of standard kitchen furniture and equip only one wall with cabinets or cabinets. This can be a solid plane opposite the window or any other wall.

Linear layout narrow kitchen along the window

Advice. Preferably, the interior design of a small narrow kitchen in a private house, which will visually expand the room. Choose light colors and plain finishes, avoid large prints and flashy designs that consume space.

It is better to place the dining area in a remote part of the room

Other methods are also applicable, including spatial illusions in the form of photo wallpapers, mirror surfaces, but in the kitchen they have to be cleaned frequently. The more horizontal lines along the ceiling and on end walls, all the better.

Advice. The ideal style is minimalism. Avoid excess decor in the form of small details.

All kitchen utensils can be hidden behind doors to avoid visual clutter in a small space

When decorating a narrow kitchen in a private home, it is better to have one spectacular accent. For example, original curtains, mosaic panel on kitchen apron or self-leveling floor with an original pattern. All dishes and household appliances must be hidden in closed cabinets.

The feeling of “emptiness” and free passages are only beneficial. The dining area is moved into the living room or limited to a folding tabletop and stackable stools.

Small kitchen

A small kitchen or catering unit is the only thing Possible Solution, when a full kitchen is not available. Everything here should be compact, even the food preparation area. Often in a small kitchen there is a full gas or electric stove replaced with a compact model - without an oven, with only 2 burners. For baking and heating, a built-in microwave oven in a kitchen cabinet is suitable, which should accommodate all other equipment.

Compact kitchen in a log house

There should be no dining area in the design of a small kitchen in a private house - there is nowhere to place it. A good option– combination of dining and working planes. This is not very convenient and hygienic, but it is functional and practical. Here it is better to abandon decor, but all equipment should be modern and aesthetically pleasing.

Advice. If the room has a window, limit yourself to simple curtains or shaped vertical blinds. Multi-layer curtains or curtains of complex cut “steal” space.

Even small kitchen it will seem more spacious if the interior is made in light colors

High-tech style or any other urban style is recommended. Metallized surfaces and fittings will look good. In a compact catering unit, it is important to maintain stylistic organicity - everything is mutually complementary and forms a single whole. Glossy surfaces reflect light and visually expand the space, but they require careful maintenance, especially when there is no hood.

Advice. Cabinets should be shallow, but spacious enough to hide all kitchen utensils and appliances, with light-colored facades. Ideally, it should occupy no more than one solid wall, but don’t give up on L-shaped built-in furniture.

Cozy kitchen in English country style

Such kitchen optionnecessary measure when there is a lack of space, such as in country house. Most often, the dining area is placed under a canopy on fresh air. It is worth considering where to put the refrigerator. In the open air it is difficult to protect yourself from bad weather summer period, and ready-made dishes in the summer - from annoying insects.

Walk-through kitchen

A walk-through kitchen with 2 exits is, as the designers say, a “thankless option.” There is also no room for a full-fledged dining area, especially if the passage is narrow. Folding tabletops or extended window sills in the form of a table - great option. However, it is necessary to cook somewhere, and better equip full-fledged place for the hostess. An inclined hood would be very appropriate.

If the passage is very narrow, you can reduce the width of the kitchen modules

If it is a square passage or rectangular room, then the interior design of a kitchen in a private house should not be determined by anything, with the exception of free passages. Perhaps the kitchen area goes into the dining room-living room, and at the other end into the hallway.

Rustic walk-through kitchen

Important! Think about how to design the passages and walls in which they are located - they should not be empty. Even light, functional shelves or multi-level dish racks will be more useful than just a doorway in the wall. The style of the passage room should not contrast with adjacent rooms, but organically complement them.

Spacious kitchen

A spacious kitchen is typical for private suburban buildings large footage. Despite many advantages, it has its disadvantages - this territory needs to be formalized somehow. It will fit two refrigerators and all the kitchen equipment you can imagine. However, there is no point in buying equipment that is hardly used.

The interior of a large kitchen in a private house does not imply stylistic restrictions. The main design goal is competent functional zoning. The spacious room will accommodate not only a working and dining area, but also a guest area, which can be equipped with a large television panel or a false fireplace.

Upholstered furniture for guests can be arranged as an island or peninsula. The only condition is that big room should be sufficiently light and warm. A powerful hood is welcome.

Combined kitchen

A combined or studio kitchen is equipped according to the same principle as a spacious room, with zoning. The only difference is a compact food block and an expanded guest area. There may be no dining set if the family usually has dinner in front of the TV, sitting on coffee table by the sofa.

Perhaps it functional room there is nowhere else to equip it. If the whole dacha is a continuous spiral staircase around the fireplace or chimney, then somewhere there should be sofas and folding chairs.

Sloping windows in the attic roof will provide the kitchen with good natural light

It is advisable to use furniture in the attic different heights or cabinets with a sloping top

Attic kitchen involves original solution because it contains a lot inclined planes, which do not involve traditional cabinet furniture with wall cabinets.

Kitchen design in a private house is the same not an easy task, like the design of a kitchen in a Khrushchev-era building: a large area needs to be properly planned and carefully thought out.

Kitchens 16 sq. m with a tabletop by the window

A kitchen with a countertop by the window is a comfortable work surface, good lighting and an original solution for the comfort of a housewife.

When the sink is located near the window, it is worth providing for drying dishes in a drawer located next to the sink and dishwasher. This way the dishes will always be within easy reach.

If a battery is installed under the window, then special ventilation grilles must be provided in the countertop so that warm air could go up.

Kitchen-living room in a private house

Both the island and the bar counter can zone the space of a large kitchen.

If you like built-in refrigerators, then you can install two built-in refrigerators in a large kitchen. You will get a built-in analogue of a side-by-side refrigerator.

And there is a lot of storage space and a work area: this solution is perfect for those who cook a lot and often. In a kitchen of this size, several people can comfortably cook at the same time.

If there are niches or ledges in the house, then the kitchen can be divided and placed between the columns.

An example of the arrangement of kitchen furniture between columns. In one part there is a stove and an extractor hood, in the other there is a sink and a built-in oven and microwave. The island serves as both an additional work area and a dining table.
